  • I read that the SVO's were the fastest and most expensive mustangs back then...

  • holy moly wow 4 banger killer

  • @richardarichter123 ... it is actually a 4 banger lol

  • @beluga420 i know fast

  • Wow

  • I have my Gillis valve set at 19-20psi and have no issues at all. -86 SVO

  • 22psi easy ... been in it for over 12 years. stock guts 2.3.

  • all the talk about jap motors what about the GM ECOTECH engine built stock to handle 1,500 hp easy!!!!!!

  • @chromalusion Not on stock internals. lmao

  • @slingblade1991 touche pardon me i 4got to add block.in between engine and built. opps

  • wow that was a nice run.. All go !!

  • your car is bad ass

  • I would like to see him race Ryan Woon from WOTM.

  • Awd is for people who can't tune a chassis. Properly setup rwd will beat awd. Maybe not in snow but who races in snow?

  • Point being your comment said if you know imports doing the same not including super cars say it and i did and now your just talking personal trash you cant even stay on topic i did what i came to do and you cant back it up with anything proving me wrong other then talking trash on me personally so grow up dude dont ask the question if you cant handle the response.

  • why do i manage to stir up trouble? is there a idiot magnet on me? i didnt even start this one, nor the last one

  • now im gonna say this for future ref. since all the import fan clubs come to try and school/bash me!? NO IMPORT WITH LESS THAN 8 CYLINDERS CAN MAKE 9 AND 10 SEC. CARS WITHOUT FORCED INDUCTION WITCH IS WHY MUSCLE CAR FANS ARE FANS!!! DOLLAR FOR DOLLAR THERE IS NO EASIER HP INCREASE THAN USING A V8. i have an 87 Escort GT complete aftermarket/fab'd suspension i have invested just over 3 grand, in the motor including a T3 turbo and i only have 296 FWHP to brag. 1.9 H0 4 cyl its been in autocross

  • Yea idk if its the import fan clubs because i have a 1970 Mach 1. Your comment was just flat out wrong. And yes an Eclipse is an import its Mitsubishi which is japanese it does not matter where the car is built the company is japanese. how can you call your ford domestic then my dad worked for ford for 30 years and they use more german and french parts then imports built here use japanese parts. Does that make your mustang an import from Germany and France?

  • funny i too have a 1970 mustang only diff. is i can post videos on youtube with me telling you who i am and not someone elses vid and i can display the title to the car with my name on it. i highly doubt you have a mach 1 considering your little drive away video of your eclipse, now as for for gas guzzling big blocks, you have not done your home work evo 9 and wrx get what 27mpg if that and oh wait whats that? oh look so does the mustang GT check that out aint that something?

  • you are a dumbass.

  • Also there are built 2.3 stroker kits for the Eclipse that alone are capable of 600hp before the turbo is even put on. Plus get over it Forced Induction IS the Replacement for Displacement its smarter safer and more efficient in every way then a giant fuel chugging motor. You get your gas mileage on the road and massive power on the track you go do that with your giant 400-600 cubic inch motors, its not happening.

  • i assure you there are domestic V8s getting roughly the same as the forced induction 4 bangers. again i run a 1st gen escort GT with turbo, i dont think V8s are the only thing in the world but CHEAPEST to make power, how much does that 2.3 stroker kit non forced inducted cost? 2nd give me a link for proof

  • what a fucking moron you are. forced induction is NOT a replacement for displacement ie the large displacement engines can be boosted as well which puts it even farther from the litte pos. as for the "fuel efficeiency" an LS7 makes 505hp NA and gets 27mpg. show me a factory 4 cylinder thatll match it in hp and mpg.

  • why not do a little research(masturbating to the latest fastnfurious movie doesnt count)look at a jdpower survey 4 of the top in quality were ford alone. domestics are just as good if not better than imports in quality and reliability. we dont need awd to own the imports the acr viper and zr1 vette own that pos gtr anywhere and everywhere. what good are all those "electronics" if its still getting its ass kicked by a vette with better reliability.

  • first ford owns 35% of mazda-youre a dumbass and your daddy is a liar. second ZR1 is 107k msrp and the GTR is 84k-half? "the bump can be pushed in like a plastic model car."-its urethane, its bumper cover, the actual bumper is behind that and it passes all us crash tests. BTW the GTR uses the EXACT same material for its rear bumper cover as do 90% of all manufacturers dumbass.

  • 35% and 90%.... do you pull your percentages out of your ass because ford barely owns 13% and that number is from 2008, and there is ABS Plastic, Polyurethane, Fiberglass, Carbon Fiber and there is also steel and aluminum so your "90%" is way off also. Also the GTR sells for 76k and the ZR1 is closer to 109k base and the other is about 119k base, and there is no "actual bumper" behind the cover they use Styrofoam and plastic behind that really cheap bumper that can be pushed in with one finger.

  • @ECLPST The zr1 still has to pass crash standards here in the US before they can be on the market. So it is just as safe as any other car on the road. Did you know that the corvette gets better mpg than the GT-R? Now why are you import guys crying all the time? because you cant outperform americas top performer?!

  • @ECLPST

I know right! THOSE CARBON FIBER BODY PANELS ARE SOOOO WEAK. It's a wonder why real race cars are made out of that garbage. It's like cheap plastic.

    /sarcasm

  • why dont they use turboed 4 bangers in top fuel?

    end of story

this car is bad ass regardless of what u think

do us a favor and go play in traffic

  • well since your an idiot here

Type in FASTEST 4 CYLINDER CAR IN THE WORLD

yea that's what i thought now stfu

  • @304teddy

    To be fair...you want to compare a V8 to a 4 banger....

Instead you should be looking at efficiency.

    Example. 3.0L V6 (N/A) in the Taurus SHO = 220hp/200tq

    3.0L V6 in 3000GT (N/A) = 190hp

Both DOHC, same displacement, one is just makes far more power.

Pick on someone your own size dude.

  • when a ricer pulls up next to me, he's getting spanked. they ask for it.

  • I hate mustangs but that is very impressive. Anyone can make power with a v8, it takes skill to do it with half the engine.

  • holy chit!

  • I guarantee you one thing - Supras are great, but to get one into these et's is probably going to cost 2 to 3 times more than this fox 2.3T.

  • gotta love american cars only can they make 4cyl. AND 8cyl. monsters... anyone know of an import brand doing the same? and i don't mean supercars!

  • I've seen some good 6cyl import monsters...

Supra's are great, but they come no where close to a good ol' Fox mustang.

  • yes, but thats a given that inline 6 is no joke. and not to be rude, but i was refering to 4cyl and V8's only. and these STI Evo 9/X and VW R32 are only fast because there AWD

  • there are also the SR20 240sx's that are capable of some serious power and fast 1/4 mile times and the SRT4's even the European version of the Focus being AWD and Turbo'd. I love my mustangs I'm a ford guy but 95% of muscle heads are usually just ignorant and lack a lot of knowledge on the range of imports and their capabilities and really need to learn to be open minded. Also by import BMW and Mercedes count as import V8's and would smoke the crap out of our V8's with their AMG and Denim motors

  • WOW-thats all ive got to say. you are a complete asshat. a bmw smoke the american V8. ok then show me the bmw or amg V8 that makes over 8000hp-cause that what the top dog american V8s make. lets just end all this by acknoledging that just a sellout a ricerfag trying to justify supporting the anti-american jap car companies. no true american would make such stupid comments.

  • i also love how you're so paranoid about other countries you think they are anti-American... i can not believe how completely clueless you really are because a large majority of "import" brands have American car company business partners and influences in engineering. Hell Ford owned Mazda, Aston Martin, Jaguar and Range Rover for the longest time. Do you even realize 95% of the "jap" cars on the road here are actually built here and have no tie to another country other then the company name.

  • listen dumbass, when it comes to automotive knowledge im so far above you youll need a stepladder just to kiss my ass. ford still owns mazda. those jap cars you claim are "built" here are merely assembled here to get past paying import taxes. theyre steel is made overseas, stamped overseas, assembled as much as possible overseas. final assembly is done here and dumbasses like you are all "well its made in america". you are a fucking idiot.

  • Ford no longer owns a controlling share of mazda. They just own some mazda stock.

  • @304teddy Ford Never "owned" Mazda it only had Controlling interest of 33.3% that is it. if you did your research you would find this out. they have and will continue to do joint ventures together. Ford only owns 11.5% of Mazda currently and has no controlling interest anymore but still remains a board seat at Mazda in Japan. as for Gm FUCK them! they are Traders to this country and have Cheap Throw away Cars! everyone i know that has a Gm its ALWAYS in the shop for trans work.

  • @304teddy and power steering pumps, racks, knuckles and other shit. And if you think a Gm is made in the states think again 90% of Chevy Gm Pontiac GMC' are made in Canada and Mexico! the only thing made in the this country from GM is the Cheap Plastic and the Airbag detonators they have for the Cars the make.

  • Its Dinan.... Not a pair of pants...

  • yea they actually have faster 4 Cylinder Eclipse drag cars running in the 6's and the Supra's are capable of mid to high 8's and still street legal if Imports put V8s in their cars as powerful and strong as their 4's and 6's then there would be serious trouble.

  • are you kiding me? the 2jzgte motor is a freak of nature toyota makes a V8 and yet no supra tuner has used it? why because its garbage, i had a turbo supra, and a standard eclipse, i can tell you from exp. every dog has its day no car is truly superior in stock form when street/strip racings involved i know the RWD eclipse, funny how it had to convert to muscle car drivetrain lol

  • actually thats because they dont make rear ends for fwd cars to be converted to rwd it has to be custom done. Also there is no such thing as a muscle car drivetrain there is no difference between import transmissions and domestic all gears and clutches same with axles just gears. Comes down to motor anyways. Toyotas V8 was never build to be used as a racing engine its a truck/suv motor why would you put that in a supra anyways thats retarded. Thats like putting the Explorers V8 into a Mustang.

  • the explorers V8 is practicly a mustang motor tuned differently, otherwise the explorer 5.0 and 4.6 both are very capable of being powerplants for mustangs, as for the RWD thing what i was implying is why couldn't it keep its reg. drive train being FWD? not to mention worlds fastest AWD may be a talon/eclipse but it only runs 7s also 1 last thing, why is it FORDs' 9" is used in so many drag cars. regardless of make. btw im not even all that crazy about drag strips. i much rather autocross

  • Damn im a mustang guy but your just flat talking out of your ass. As much as I hate to admit it Toyota has a very stout V8. its the 1UZ. It a 4.0L v8 very strong motor. And actually supra tuners are picking up on it. Search 1uz supra on here see what you find.

  • dont need to research it-ive seen the titan supra firsthand-its slow compared to top domestics. yep ford sold off its controlling share in mazda.

  • Then research what the 1UZ is capable of stock! Back when the 302s were cracking apart at the cam when approaching 500-600hp the 1UZ were doing close to 1000whp on a stock shortblock. Yes I know the 03-04 cobra and the GT500/GT motors do that now days. But give credit where credits due. The 1UZ was and is a motor that can put down serious numbers along with its Vh45 nissan counterpart. The aussies are doing almost 10,000 rpms on 1uz's at 500whp.

  • i NEVER said the 1UZ wasnt capable of alot of power-though ive NEVER seen approaching 1000rwhp on a stock shortblock. i just stated a fact that top japanese engines dont come close to top american engines. when imports make 8000+hp from an automotive engine-then youve caught up. who gives a shit if the engine spins to almost 10,000rpms-so does my weedwacker.

  • and those 8000hp motors need a tear down after every run. American motors are good and getting better. But I wouldnt say they are better. Then again I wouldnt say the imports are better. And actually your weedeater probably sees closer to 25-30,000 rpms as its most likely a 28cc 2 stroke.

  • Your argument about japanese motors being stronger stock for stock is invalid, did you not just see this 2.3L High Deck Engine (Original Block) putting around 800-900HP to the ground in a 9 second pass and yes that block is from the 80's, yeah the 80's.

  • Yet thats not the original block or original rotating assembly or original head.

Oh and the original design for the 2.3 style engine was back in the 70s. Im a 2.3t guy been on stangnet since 99 along with turboford and svoca. You see Ive been on both sides. the 2.3ts can handle a good amount of abuse stock no doubt. But typically the japanese motors are stouter. Not always. But typically. Dont get me wrong. Im a domestic guy but Ive learned to respect both sides. Do some research.

  • The high deck was in the 80's rare and mostly unheard of (it's the block in that car). Both the Ford 2.3L and 5.4L are extremely stout engines, the GT40 can Hold 1000+HP easy on stock fuel delivery and internals, and I've seen more than 10 lbs of boost on a stock 2.3L. The internals of the 2.3L are ridiculously stout, seen this motor have over 300,000 miles on stock block and rings with no smoke. i have no idea why ford discontinued the 2.3L SVO program because 900+HP out of a SOHC is amazing.

  • @Hotarihanzo yeah, they were RIDICULOUS cars. used to have one XD

  • @Hotarihanzo WTF LOL Thats crazy

  • @Hotarihanzo When my 88 turbo coupe blow out the turbo all my oil went with it. 0 psi of oil pressure on a 2.3 with over 150,000 miles still sounded as tight as a new engine. No tapping or knocking. My 4.6 v8 without oil would make all kinds of sloppy sounds.

  • @DOHCCordia "But typically the japanese motors are stouter."-wrong. for every jap engine proven to a set hp limit. i can show at least two domestic engines thatll top it.

  • @304teddy Nascar engines rev to 10,000 rpm

  • Comment removed

  • imports do use V8s they just suck compared to those of us americans.

  • your completely missing the point of that statements use because it means forced induction vs. displacement not forced induction vs. displacement that also uses forced induction. Since your just another redneck idiot running their mouth for "America" walking in completely uninformed about import cars because factory or not you take a 4 cylinder car or 6 with forced induction you can run 8-10 second 1/4 miles and still get 30mpg because if ur not boost then your not chugging... V8's chug at idle

  • anyone know his fastest time ever?

  • This is his fastest pass at Gateway. His fastest pass ever, so far as I know, is an 8.97 at 150 mph. Not sure what track that was at though.

  • C4 Tranny ? thinking about gettin that myself.

  • Much Respect! Great Vid..
