glad to know there are options when those speakers go bad. i have been researching in getting the ts-42. i like the stroker design. maybe the ts42 21" stroker sub is made better. good review. im still debating on the ts42 and the jbl srx718

Nice to see that cerwin vega went so cheap on the design judging from what you've shown it made my choice easier to not purchase the folded horn speakers I would rather buy the B&C sub then build the box to my own design to be honest. I saw your post on parts express I agree that the B&C Subs are off the wall but I also like the selenium 18WFH1P-SLF 18" 600W subs as well...

Nice video! Actually it's funny, that the AB-36B and some other CV folded horn subwoofers use B&C woofers from the factory. I know this because I have a couple of new AB-36B woofers. Maybe Cerwin-Vega used cheaper (china made?) drivers in the EL-36C model.

i just got some yorkville ls801p they hit HARD most the time i just use one.

the only downside is it weighs way too much.

you should of just got some yorkys you would of never have to go through this mess.

I like the cv cabs better though, but also did not want to go out and buy additional cabs. but these subs hit 10 times harder than the stock 500 rms / 1000 watt peak cv subs that were made in china

ive been using behringer b215a powered speakers there really good from europe they sound actually better then jbl and cheaper you should look into them man

I know people who have upgraded the provided woofers in the CV Earthquakes with other better performing components. The cabinet design is solid, but can and did sound a whole lot better with a celestion driver.

did you mqake sure that the B&C as sutible for the enclosure. i.e. looked at the TS parameters of both drivers and compared them. as not all drivers will work in all encosures.
