I know - i work for one of the boatyards in wroxham - we probably get 3 or 4 boats a year smash the front and tear the fiberglass away under bridges - we've even had a few of them get stuck. One boat took the whole front corner away and smashed the windows! Right in the middle of the holiday season. When i take people out on their first time to show them the controls i tend to advice them to use a pilot when motoring under bridges. I supose doing it everyday makes it easier to judge though. :)
Pffft i have got a 42ft boat through there plenty of times!!,
Remeber you steer the back of the boat not the front, non car drivers pick it up quicker than car drivers.
