    this is just amazing

    you really are talented

  • @josimonkeyman Thanks,glad you enjoyed.Vic.

  • I don't know how I missed this one, but I'm glad that I stumbled on it this morning!

I'm a big fan of Stevie and, of course, of yours.

Thanks for sharing this one Vic.

    Fri

  • @FriPilot Hi thanks, Stevie is just great,a great inspiration composition-wise,always good material, greets Vic.

  • Bravissimo!!!!!...Buon 2012!!!!!

  • @robertocasijazz Thank you,greets Vic.

  • beautiful guitar...tonelicious

  • Very Nice!

  • very nice....

  • sehr schön....

  • @MrFavino07 Danke Schon,Vic.

  • Hello. I have a semi-acoustic Epiphone and has a good sound but I saw that you have a number of pick ups. What are they? They have a very warm sound.

  • @VincenzoMelis Thanks, I use 2 Seymour Duncan humbuckers and for funky Stuff I've added an original single coil strat pick up in the middle,Vic.

  • man sounds great, wondering what kind of pickups are in your guitar and what kind of amp or interface are you running it into. You have a very desirable jazz tone coming out

  • @martin91393 Thanks for your feedback, pick-ups are seymour duncan humbuckers, I'm running my signal straight into my folio note pad (soundcraft) 4 channel analog mixer from there to the computer in port, hate all that digital Stuff=no warmth, greets Vic.

  • Sounds great... is that Band in a Box in the background?

  • @ggman946 Thanks, yes a more modern version sounding much better and more natural,Vic.

  • hey great video, I was wondering what scale(s) were you using through out that piece, Ive always been interested in achieving jazz/bluesy sounds with my solos. Thanks :)

  • @zomgchocobo Hi, well I think it's a lot of Info just to write here out of the Blue as I'm using many different concepts due to years of experimentation. I might do a lesson on this piece, greetings Vic.

  • Hi Victor, I hope all things are going well for you. I like your music and the way you are playing the guitar. After hours of hard work in the studio I very often hear your music. It's great. Thank you for publishing it.

  • @digitalstudioulm Thanks, it's great that you're relaxing with my Music and it's an honor to hear people (musicians) love listening to my sound, all the best Vic.

  • A nice little tune, yes. And a rather sophisticated solo, wthout loosing the loveliness! A gem!

  • @JogiBass Thanks Jogi, glad you enjoyed my version of this nice S.Wonder tune,Vic.

  • Hi Vic, I always loved this tune. You have a wonderful version here, the "loveliness" shines through your guitar playing. Very nice soloing, really. I usually don´t use that word, but here I do: "AWESOME"

    Thanx, see you, Frank

  • @LONGWINDING Thanks Frank for your uplifting positive comment, yesterday evening I was listening to Ingo (lespaulordeath) man that guy can play the Blues, I subbed to him,he's a terrific Soulful player with great taste and tone very musical. I was thinking now I know: Many shredders play very fast and all but it simply isn't musical, it's musical when "One note" hits you inside. greetings Vic.

  • AWESOME Playing! Great tone and taste. Welcome to my list of Favorites...LOL! It's a pleaseure to meet you via You Tube. Thanks for sharing your talent. Love your style.

  • @stringbender57 Thanks for your encouraging words,I need them right now, greets Vic.

  • Sehr schön.

  • @jotja Vielen dank,Vic.

  • "yeah... I play a bit o jazz, would you like to come up sometime and... see my guitars..."

  • @PeterZeeke Thanks, well it aint about all the guitars it's about the thoughts behind the Music expressed through a guitar.Vic.

  • I have the same Ikea wooden chair!!!

  • @LoveSponge07 thath's great and what about the Music??????? Vic.

  • @Jazzguts hahahahahaha

    the music's great

  • @JazztrumpeterRocks Thanks,tell me the joke then I can get a good laugh too,Vic.

  • @Jazzguts its not really that funny but i thaught it was just kinda stupid how your playing an awesome arangement of this song and hes commenting on the chair.....

  • @JazztrumpeterRocks Thanks I know what you mean, these people are kind a depressing, I mean I'm playing my balls of here and all someone can start talking about is a fucking chair, how more A-cultural can you get? Vic.

  • @Jazzguts Most people are quite visual based and they only take notice of whats right infront of there face and dont really think much else of it. This makes it quite quite hard for them to witness true beauty. I think its kinda sad the way society has turned out especially with all its been through..

    Dave

  • @JazztrumpeterRocks Well I guess I'm here for the happy few who seek beauty and who have been raised to use their ears and not only their eyes. Indeed there's very much work necessary to change the current mentality,it starts in the schools, but the tragic thing is that "Culture" (Art,Painting, sculpture,Music) is the first to receive a nice blow when there ain't enough money,at least here in Holland with this ultra right government all subsides are being cut, only the economy counts,Vic.

  • @Jazzguts I see what you mean. I'm 15 in Australia and the music and Art education is worth laughing at. I have to learn everything that i do on my own or from my private tudor. and yeah the whole world needs to change there attitude to life in general, because what is the point of all of this establishment if no one can see true beauty and enjoy the little things.

  • @JazztrumpeterRocks Well Holland has become like America where all is left to the free-Market, some people don't even regard a Musician as a normal profession, whilst just like every profession I've been been training my skills for years and studying hard. You talk of beauty and enjoy little things, cultivate that precious attitude my friend because the World isn't so at all, this is a hard materialistic place where humanity is loosing ground further and further. A very painful thing to see,Vic.

  • @Jazzguts well, i think the world will start to change soon. Recent technology developments allow the teen population to access music more than ever. and i think people will relise yet again how precious good music is........ Or it will go completely the other way and people will loose all respect for it.

    Dave

  • @JazztrumpeterRocks Thanks for your reply, I will hand them my instrument and just like Carlos Santana say: Now you give it try and I will be the listener,Vic.

  • @Jazzguts Amen to that

  • @JazztrumpeterRocks Thanks, one thing about Music is: it makes you think deep bout many things, greets Vic.

  • Excellent! Now I understand your name: You've got the "guts" (that many of us don't have), to play Jazz! Well you sure convinced me. Nice Ep! Did you customize it yourself?

  • @heycolslaw Hi I see you got the humor in my name, guts stands for daring to be yourself and not sheer copying what has been done before but making your own improvisations,it's a search in yourself. I didn't customize it myself a costomizer here in Holland did,Vic.

  • Great sound.

  • @MrJimdeb Thank you very much,see you've really been checking me out,much appreciated,Vic.

  • @MrJimdeb Thank you very much,see you've really been checking me out,much appreciated,Vic.

  • cool

  • Awesome!....Vic....I really enjoy watching your videos, I can see how much enjoyment you get from making music. Thank you for sharing your playing with the rest of the music community.

    Cheers!

    Bill

  • @n97223 Thanks Bill yes indeed I get great joy from making Music especially when I get the chance to improvise on interesting chord structures, greetings Vic.

  • Nobody forgets your tracks. I've finally gotten round to hear this one. I'm very glad I did. Great as usual . Vic

  • @zinnington Thanks Mike felt kinds depressed yesterday, when I saw all these trillions of people here on YT and everybody wanting attention just gave me a strange kinda feeling,of course I know anybody who plays 2 chords posts Stuff nowadays making this place crowded with mediocrity (with all respect but it's true). greetings Vic.

  • @Jazzguts Don't be depressed. Talent always wins out. Believe me the two chord folks know what reality is when they see your videos. Think of it this way, you are influencing people to do better and to study. Not a bad deal Vic my friend. I just put a new one up myself, because of your influence. Face it you do good work and give everybod a kick in the pants.

  • @zinnington Thanks Mike for your encouraging words, you're right it's a good deal doing this work. Only I've burnt my fingers with those Tabs (scores) I was doing, people want them but expect them all for free, when I ask a fee for all my extra hours, arranging and scoring from scratch ,nobody's home. I don't understand this mentality, it's like driving to a gas station filling your tank and saying thanks for the "free-fill" till tomorrow. that's my problem with YT only taking not giving, Vic.

  • @Jazzguts Well, I guess you teach locally. Do you have a website. You gotta give teasers. Make them curious by not giving them everything. Make them come to you then charge them. Don't do stuff for free. Marekting is everything.

  • @zinnington Thanks,of course I teach locally and have normal income from these lessons. I'm talking bout the many requests for scores I get daily via YT,when I send them my Tutorial with all info on Scores (also fee payment) then suddenly it remains silent. This means the general mentality of these folks is that they expect to get all for free. This is caused by all these chaps who giving away everything they do for free, very un- businesses like creating a mentality that all should be for free

  • @Jazzguts I'd just put it out there, that you want a deposit. No ticky no shirty. Payment due when ready. Mabey you can do something with Paypal or something like that. The way you play you should be gigging like crazy anyway. I know there are teachers who use YT to lure people to thier websites where they can pay to get lessons and arrangement. Put them in an archive. Give access only if they bring out the old CC or Debit card.

  • One more time, Great take

  • @jazzonazz Thanks brother great you come listening back, then I don't feel like one of the trillions who's tracks are forgotten within 3 days, cheers Vic.

  • Really nice playing, nice guitare sound too!

  • @SebSirois seb, what i'm trying to say with all my video's is: Be yourself don't only copy but search your own voice in terms of musical expression, for me that's the highest goal and the largest part of of my life I've been busy with nourishing just that, cheers Vic.

  • okay then

  • Ahhhh, Victor. So fluid and smooth. Impeccable execution and wonderful tone -- a superb rendition of this classic tune! Two big thumbs up!!! This one is going straight into my favorites. Cheers, Jeff

  • @SqwishTV Thanks Jeff, for your joyful comment, and sending some quality Music this direction, yes it's like you say; you have to dig deep because nowadays everyone who knows 2 chords is posting Stuff and getting mighty crowded,Vic.

  • play some LED ZEPPLIN.

  • @TheAerosmith3 Wrong channel,wrong choice, I'm a Jazzman.

  • Beautiful tone, and sooo smooth.

  • @dronai You're welcome Dorian,Vic.

  • I always love to hear you but thats to fast for me. Greetings love ya

  • @jmbgouveia Well all I can say is: Learn to think Faster but maintain Good Taste and musicality, that's the golden combination, greetings Vic.

  • Lovely indeed! Very tasty take on this great tune. Regards, Chuck

  • @Kikalani Thanks Chuck for dropping in and listening,Vic.

  • That's indeed a great tune. Would you believe I never learnt it until a few weeks ago?

I have a love/hate relationship with BiaB, but it has improved quite a lot since I started using its RealDrums upgrade. Ever tried it? To go round some of its shortcomings, I usually import the bass line into the melody channel and then edit it to my satisfaction.

  • @pabzum Thanks I think it has improved compared with the old one, anyway I can imagine the love hate thing as with many things in life. Of course a nice live track of Aebersold is better but when nothing else is around, it will do. Cheers Note: Fm penta over Ab/Bb gives a great suspended sound, try it out, cheers Vic.

  • Awesome, Vic! Tasteful playing to one of Stevie's many tasty treats! I love it when you go outside...just makes me smile. Thanks for sharing your brilliant playing.

    Dennis

  • @DennisJTracy Aah Dennis some musical ears listening to me and finally some one who mentions my "outside" playing,I thought I'd never get a remark on that musical point, cheers Vic.

  • @DennisJTracy Hi Vic...been playing since I was 4 years old, by ear, and a jazz fan from my earliest years, so I've always loved the "outside" players...it's like appreciating a fine scotch, or developing a taste for good cigars...but when you grow up listening to it, it's not hard to hear or love....it's just a sign of musical intelligence and creativity. Many people may not understand what they're listening to, but the sophistication is felt...you do it VERY well, my friend!

  • Really, very, very nice. Smooth, just great. Thx!

  • @SCNP Thank you glad you enjoyed, Vic.

  • Hi Victor,

Such a pleasure to sit in my chair with headphones on, sip my bacardi and coke while watching you and listening to you perform. Very flowing and gentle style you posess.

Thank you for letting us in again!

    Steve

  • @cryptonet007 Well I see you're enjoying life to the max, very good. Now I hope I can sell some original finger-style scores, that would help me out so I could keep my work here going, cheers Vic.

  • It's definitely lovely thank for sharing this

    greets Senne

  • @senne17 Thanks Senne glad you listened and enjoyed,Vic.

  • why are you laughing so i say you make my day and

i found your sound so nice and great but not negative wow

you make my day and i am happy that's why i laughing....

    Great so i say...

  • @yankeenl OK no problem thanks a lot for your very positive vibe, cheers Vic.

  • Amazing, great interpretation !

  • @Skytalker777 Thanks a lot,glad you liked it,Vic.

  • Great and solo and backing tracks ! Good idea to use BiB. Very clear sound. I enjoyed it very much. Hoe do you synchronise video as well when recording from a mixer ?

  • @KruisenEnMollen Many people start fussing about playing with a live band but with this I can play whenever I like and it sounds good in time, always. The soundtrack and Video is recorded simultaneously, Vic.

  • O_o

We have the same IKEA chair

    :D

sweet jazzy sound I really enjoy it.

  • @yamitanomura Oh those chairs are good studying-chairs, and not too expensive, glad you enjoyed,Vic.

  • WoW very nice and what a nice Sound haha,

    Great it make my day

    Thanks...

  • @yankeenl Thanks a lot but why are you laughing? Vic.

  • woaw. great job. really musical

do you have the btrack in gp format?

  • @piemalicho Thanks, no I've invested in B.I.B. (band in a box) so I can make my backing tracks independently(check it out very user friendly) if I start providing everybody with backing tracks I'll be busy from noon till dawn, cheers Vic.

  • @Jazzguts no problèms.

  • you just keep getting better and better Vic ! always improving ! great stuff maestro !

  • @freddym223 Freddy thanks for your very kind words coming from a great player in Jazz. I think Stevie's chord progressions are Jazz,so delightfully composed. Lately I've been studying many concepts it only takes time to adapt in your playing and actually hear everything in your mind while improvising, thanks my friend,Vic.

  • Nothing but the usual. Perfection in grace from the master. thanks for sharing it.

  • @Frets200 Thanks for the great compliment, hope nothing ever happens to my hands, then I'll become a Music critique I guess, lol,Vic.

  • Those fingers are moving so smooth on the fretboard they are like an octopus tentacles, tenderly exploring rocks for prey.

I loved this very much Vic... as I do with all of your masterful play.

To my ears and through my sound setup, it sounded that it needed slightly less base... just to enhance the mids a bit, but there again tone is very individual to each listener.

I noticed that my link to your site was not working properly this morning but I have now sorted it out. :~)

    Best regards.

  • @francoprs Thanks a lot for your wonderful critique, I found out that it depends on what boxes or headsets you turn Music, some accentuate the mid and lows more then others, here at home it's a good Jazz sound, I'll have a listen with my Headset. I'll also check out my Web Site, I know my brother is doing a lot of work on it now trying to get the CD sales going, all the best Amigo, Vic.

  • Thank you!

  • Vic strikes again the jazz thing! I love your smooth sound and tasteful soloing!

    Cheers,

    Bernd

  • @BoeckmannLudwig Thanks Bernd, glad you're always checking me out and so to hear enjoying, cheers my friend,Vic.

  • great phrasing!

  • @sotonemuel Thanks a lot,Vic.

  • hello jazzguts.. Very good sound jazzy !! very good guitarplay !! bravo !!

  • @lesvieuxbriscards Thank you,very much appreciated,Vic.

  • pretty

  • love the "Wes" vibe when you play the beginning with the octaves!!! classic as always Vic!

  • @freddyfvckface Thanks, well I always loved listening to Wes,he was a Hugh inspiration, especially his octave playing and timing,Vic.

  • I'm speechless ... perfect

  • @MrMichehl Thanks me too,Vic.

  • Aren't you lovely! :-)

Sweet listening at this time of day (just past midnight) before going to bed after a long day with students.

    Thanks Vic!

    Sigh...

    Peo

  • @AndanteLargo Oh yes Per those long days with students, sometimes you'd wish to just play guitar all day for yourself, but that's Utopia, lol,Vic.

  • Hey Vic! This is by far one of my favorite songs to listen to, and it was great to hear your take on it! I may be able to learn a thing or two from watching this vid a lot :D

  • @touji192 Go ahead my friend be my guest,if you hear some nice licks you can borrow them from me, later when I hear you play them,I'll charge you,LoL,Vic.

  • @Jazzguts Will it be a one time fee? ^_^

  • @touji192 Ha ha sure man, I'm just kidding, man if I had to pay for all I stole here and there I'd be as poor as a church mouse, lol,Vic.

  • @Jazzguts Well, let me know when the lesson section of your site goes up! I'll definitely be contemplating it!

  • @touji192 I will,I'll let a Bulletin go out to all fans, all the best, vic.

  • You play so effortless!!! probably one if not the best guitarist on youtube

  • @GuitarLengends456 Well I ain't the best shredder but my style is totally different, it's not based on the fastest gun in town, lol,Vic.

  • Vic Enjoyable...... Had a feeling between A Kenny Burrell and Larry Carlton to me..

  • @SIRONEDRAGON Well Kenny is great and so is Larry so I ain't complaining, thanks for the compliment,Vic.

  • Great job, Vic !

I do have a question for you though. Do you use the mic on the camera to record your performances, or do you use a mixer and bring the signal to the camera via wire ? Just curious >

  • @peterqb24 I'm using a Mac Osx core 2 PC with built in Camera,so I record in front my PC, the backing track and guitar signal are routed to a 4 channel mixer and the stereo output goes to the Audio port of the PC, that's it,Vic.

  • Isn´t he lovely? Yes he is :)

    Another fav for my Vic-playlist.

    Cheers - Sabine

  • @SabMei1 Thanks Sabine, I know a lady who's very lovely and plays a good guitar here on YT her name starts with an S, hug Vic.

  • @Jazzguts Yes Vic you are right. Sarah is indeed very lovely and plays a good guitar! Hug :-)

  • @SabMei1 Ha ha great sense of humor, this lady I meant also has a "B" in her name, lol,Vic. (Sarah is very lovely too)

  • Vic All the girls will say Isn't he lovely Lolo

Nice one my friend 5***** 4U mon ami.

  • @ClaudeSirois Haha, I remember me asking a friend why are you in Music? To get the girls of course but man that was centuries ago,now I'm an old guy, lol,Vic.

  • wonderfull works

    i like it and stevie

i 'll see him this summer in live in france

do you know sylvain luc a great ( like you) french guitar player

    see you soon vic

  • @carlos13190 Thanks Carlos, that's a great opportunity to see the legend at work, that guy is so damn musical and Sylvian is an incredible player, real good, thanks for listening,Vic.

  • Hi Vic

Dit is gewoon top klase en verbazingwekkend hoe dit numeer van "Stevie Wonder" op een geweldige instrumentale impro wordt weer gegeven. Onze dank hiervoor, Voortaan 4 kaarten klaar on the first row.

    Best regards

    William

    Groeten an het viertal bewonderaars.

    William

  • Fantastic, Vic, it's got that Wes Montgomery flavor tossed into a Motown thing, yet bringing that personal stuff in there. Really enjoyed this post a lot.

  • @turkamine Thanks and that beautiful description covers the gap between people who never met but where still related in terms of beautiful Music, one hell of an improviser(also composer) and an incredible composer, Music goes through all boundaries,Vic.

  • Very well done ,top impro 5*********

  • Very nice stuff!!!!

  • @ignobooboo I hope so,LOL,greets Vic.

  • beautiful version , fantastic solo

  • @micheleapicella2 Thank you and hats off to your comment,Vic.

  • Great sound and great solo Victor, and great use of octaves, chords and single lines for the melody. I would love to hear you do more Stevie Wonder.

    -Steve

  • @Stevepat1 Thanks Pat, Stevie is a great composer and I think he'll eventually be added as a composer in the great American songbook, his influence is undoubtedly very great, his musicality fantastic. Vic.

  • Nice lines Vic, that was really cool man. You just so original in your playing. I enjoyed this one very much. Thanks.

  • @jazzyedwin24 Thanks Edwin, it's great you mention "very original" while I'm just following my senses. I have met people on my path who were very original and demanding and that mentality has probably brushed off on me.You know how it is with Jazz: You can never say ,hey this is how I'm going to play it,that ain't Jazz, you just play, meditate deep and play again and all occurs in the moment,Vic.

  • Beautiful! Loved the sound of your guitar and how it blended with the background bass track.

  • @abhikmazumder Thanks my friend, again another improvisation after the theme, like I explained jazzyedwin (read it if you like) it's never the same, nothing's written down just a few chord-symbols. In Jazz you make Music from scratch and I guess for me that's the interesting thing.Vic.

  • Hi Victor ,fine to hear newsmusic from you,its allways great playing and the right stuff, chears

  • @hanseatus Thanks for me now the news that it's going mighty bad with the Euro and the dollar ain't doing that bad,cheers.lol,Vic./

  • Victor,

Another masterpiece! I remember this tune from a while ago and it always seemed like it was a easy swinging tune that lended itself to many interpretations. You have put up one of the great interpretations I have heard. As mentioned in an earlier post, you are great at improvising over familiar chord strutures with a great feel for unique improvisation. Thanks, Rich

  • @sunriverperson Thanks Rich, a friend once told me Vic,the same tune can sound fresh again and again because every-time you're improvising something different, it's true, the same chord structure can behold millions of great sounding melodies-that's Jazz, greetings Vic.

  • hi vic sounds super, exact the right sound to play stevie wonder in your jazzstyle and just one more wonderful guitar, sometimes ago i thought that epiphone made only cheap guitars but i were wrong, i think also john lennon played epiphone and a part of lynyrd skynyrd, i just had 2 epiphones les pauls, not bad for the money, but not sounded good like your guitar, cheers friedel

  • @1wiesehoefer1 Thanks Friedl some years ago Epiphone was considered the Poor mans Gibson, then I started thinking bout that term and came to the conclusion that the Poor man ain't so poor if he can play better than the rich man, lol, now that's a nice Joke to meditate on,all the best my friend,Vic.

  • Hi there Vic, real sorry about your wifes computer. That must have been quite recent as I believe I still saw it on my fav's list just a few days ago.
