at the Large setting (the full 10 megapixels with the a300) you won't get much of a larger print than at Medium (5 mp on the a300), so if you know you're not going to make large poster sized prints, you can definitely save room on your card and bring it to medium/5mp.
at 10 mp, the largest decent quality print you can get is about 27"X40"
at 5, it's about 20"x30"
so it's not that big a difference. keep that in mind before you shoot. but at weddings, yes! definitely large
Hmmm, good question. First I have to say that we have done training videos on all of them, so I have no particular bias. Having owned each one for a couple of weeks each. I would choose the D0 or the Sony 200. They focus the best and take the best pictures in my opinion. You can ask me follow up questions because Im running out of room to say more.- John Cooksey Elite Video.
can someone please give me a solid answer on which camera i should purchase......the NIKON D60, SONY alpha 200, Olympus Evolt E-510, or the Canon Digital Rebel XTi??????
Thanks a lot for the advice....I posted this comment when i was indeed first getting into photography.(which was about a year ago).
Since then i decided on using a film SLR instead going directly with a DSLR. Just so i can learn the basics and see what it was like..."THE OLD FASHIONED WAY".
I'm yet to buy a DSLR and am loving using film instead.

wow! ISO at 1600... might as well not take the picture (with this camera, anyway)
with this camera noise is quite apparent at as low as ISO 400

I have the a300 and love it. For $100 you get live view and a tiliting LCD screen. The auto focus is nice and fast and has eyestart A/F.

i live in the uk and its only £30 for the upgrade which is about $60, its worth getting the a300 over the others.
