Ibanez Gio GSR105EX 5-String Bass

I can tell you from first hand experience that this bass produces (or is capable of producing) some nice sound (might need to do some upgrading perhaps finer tone control, some barts...) its is a nice alternative to the Ibanez SR505

@Cuervo4992 Hey Cuervo, I have this bass also, and can you help me with something? What is back bow on the neck? Is it when going in between frets, you hear a buzzing sound? I have that when I go from one fret to another. I have this for EVERY string, yes all 5. When I play them open it's fine but when I hold a string down on any fret I'll hear a buzz when I play that string, and go to another fret. Sorry for the long story but I really need help.

@AznBoiiBTW hey man sorry i took so long to reply youtube decided it didn't want me to know i had a comment. any way... yeah you could have one that was set up poorly like mine. i mean really all i can say is watch videos about back bow and how to fix it. if you do decide to fix it on your own watch the videos VERY carefully and if you aren't comfortable about messin with it then take it to your local guitar shop and have them set it up for you. remember to let them know whats wrong with it.

I bought that piece of sh#t in Guitar Center 'cause I was on a budget but trust me, that's the worst bass ever. It's so horribly uncomfortable. Don't be cheap, I recommend waiting until you have more money to buy something decent but please stay away from this crap.

i have that bass in 4 string... after a year... it is the worst bass i ever bought. if u are looking for a cheap good bass... look at a squier affinity jazz bass 5 string

so interwebs, tell me which is better. a dean edge 09, or the ibanez gio. i play mostly metal and punk, and prefer a faster neck. i just haven't found any reviews of the dean edge 09.

I'm looking into getting a 5 string and my choices are this bass or a Squire Jazz Bass 5 string and I was wondering which would be the better choice. I play mostly Metal, Heavy Rock, Hardcore Punk, anything with heavy sound

@jweth154 I'd go with the Ibanez. The neck is much faster, it's lighter, and it roars with the active EQ. The J-bass was really heavy and had a neck I could hardly handle.

its a nice solid bass that, im upgrading from my crappy encore bass to either this model or the gsr208, both basses sound and feel good to me, id recommend them.
