Fuckin' Schwab. I hated having to run rifle ranges up there when we couldn't use the one on Hansen. That thing was held together with tape and bailing wire.
Tell you what though, I'd still go back there in a heartbeat. Didn't know how much I loved that whole island until I was gone.
I think some teen-ager marines going to takes a lots in Okinawa-islands by bases,
But raping happend a lots of accident so Okinawa's girls does like foreigner basically & men is taking jobs in bases, went to jobs somemore is moving for Osaka,Tokyo.
Okinawa girls're Tightly smalls so have contacts on privates...
dude you have no idea hoe lucky u are i was there 78-79. get down and be thankful, if i had the video devices that u have now and show u the difference you would shit. sign this marine corps have their few good men they call them NAVY CORPSMAN. FORMER 3RD RECON. SEMPER FI
@Angelnot95 We don't even realize we do it. Swearing just becomes filler words and we don't even recognize them anymore. One day I realized it was a problem so I stopped. Wasn't easy.
Wow! Incredibly nice living. I can't believe it. When I was at Schwab in 79' we had open squadbays with twin size racks and Green US blankets, and plain fartsacks and sheets which we surveyed every Thursday. and walllockers and a footlocker. I was a grunt and I never dreamed the Marine Corps would have this kind of billeting. Especially grunts.I guess times change
@ChowHallCommando Very, very nice billeting even compared to when I was at Schwab in '92. We were in the single level squadbays along the coastline and baseball field. Old west saloon style swinging half doors, office cubical dividers for walls, and open showers. Wanted to turn on the A/C in your "room", open the windows.
@Phantazmagoriia Oh man! When I was on light duty after breaking my leg at NTA I worked with S4 and was in the barracks right behind Headquarters and my window faced that Baseball dugout and field. I loved it. I'd walk right across the street to the theatre and Gee-Dunk and the E-Club in the parking lot. Sweet memories from 32 years ago and the greatest men I ever served with. It's all like a dream now. Yup,the window and a rented fan was my AC. Oki was the best place to be a Marine.
@ChowHallCommando I agree about Okinawa. Hot and humid for the most part, but it's the one place I wasn't happy to leave. Great scuba diving too. We got 10 people together to do a group rate to get dive certified through the MWR. Ended up paying $75 each and got to -skate out- for 2 weeks to boot just to focus on getting certified. With Kadena to go to as well, it was just a REALLY fun, relaxed (as relaxed as a grunt can experience), and exciting place to be.
@Phantazmagoriia Totally agree friend. Oh and the snorkeling was awesome. You're likeme in that I also loved heading south on weekends. Henoko was just fun on weeknights. Weekends in Okinawa city and Naha were great. The people were a lot nicer than the japanes on the mainland. Was at Camp Fuji too.
Man, you all need to spend fleet time in squadbays so you learn to respect rooms :) If I am not mistaken the building in this video replaced quanset huts.
Well first off there are females on schwab, you got the ammo techs, second the thermostat in the room is nice and as for an ocean view on foster depending on what barracks you live in like 5696 you can see the ocean and the ferris wheel.
@Concussive1 Screw the ocean view. If you're a boot with no car stationed at Hansen or Schwab, life will get boring and you will suffer from blue balls.
Good ol camp sausage. Looks like they've upgraded a little since I was there. I was at the barracks as soon as you come in the gate off to the left. The last one on that strip over by BAS. That thing was a shit hole. The AC broke all the damn time. The best part though was the beach and lack of top-heavies. Only place I ever seen you could walk in the PX wearing flip flops and they'd just ask you if you were going to the beach. Except that one moto ass gunny...
i was about to say, it's a lot better than foster, but you already had that covered. i'm not even in the service and i know whcih barracks suck! hahaha
