I agree with you! The ending was beautifully executed. And the story was made exceptional because of it. Its one of the best dramas I have seen. Its a Must to have an Understanding of the themes to appreciate the series. Most importantly, Happy Endings are not the standard for nor define a Good drama. :)

@StarFanaticCraft i think ABS-CBN changed the title from "49 Days" (original Korean title) to "Pure Love" because ABS-CBN has an ongoing Primetime Drama Series (airing time is 3 hours before this korean drama's airing time) called "100 Days to Heaven"- where the lead female character has a mission to be done in 100 Days. :)
