@papercut1987 nah there pretty solid chassis with a tailerd saftey cell which is designed to withstand over 5 tons pressing on it plus the helmet he wears is reinforced with kevlar andf the saftey cell is damperd so it takes most of the load of the impact and the car has a gyroscope inside wich detecs things like this and engages safey features
It's not exactly a "public road" in the conventional sense when half the highway is closed to everyone except the race driver and the camera crew. That type of low-speed driving in the wet takes good skills, but its not like he is going to use a turn signal to change lanes.
Also, why was this video uploaded in such poor quality? It must have been filmed well in the first place.
A curiosity: the tunnel which you can see around 2:44 is called "Ayrton Senna Tunnel". If you look above the tunnel mouth you can see a sculpture in his honour.

So what the fuck is wrong with the people in this area? An indy car comes cruisin down the street in my area... theres ABSOLUTELY no chance in hell that everybody in the vicinity is not looking. Do these people get this shit all the time or something?
@bwchudy95 There is not that much difference between a Indycar's looks and design in comparison to an F1 car. So I don't see why its such an issue. If its such a HUGE problem then I'll rephrase myself. "A F1 car comes cruisin down the street in my area...". Better? Yes, I think so.
@RobbyRaiAshtray1122 looks...maybe, design?? C`mon, there is no comparison between technology and capabilities, except for straight line speed (altough F1 car is never tuned only for speed). F1 teams pack millions every year to improve their car. In Indycar, the chasis changes every 5-6 years. Oh and Indycar is popular only in America. Ask someone anywhere else in the world what is Indycar series, they wont have a clue. F1 is popular all around the world EXCEPT America (for some strange reason)
@RobbyRaiAshtray1122 I don't think he cares...and NASCAR, INDYcar and F1 don't have anything on FIA WRC and MotoGP. You wanna race around a track? Do it on a motorcycle. Wanna race a car? Do it where ever you can find traction.
@owall83 Although I do respect WRC and MotoGP, I don't really care for motorcycles and offroad courses. Both sports are probably great in their own way but I still give it up to F1. Trying to drive vehicles that weigh nearly half as much as the latest Subaru Impreza WRC and producing around 700hp. It takes massive ability to controle and/or keep something like that on the road.
Oh and NASCAR can go suck a dick. "HE TOOK ANOTHER LEFT TURN!!!"
@RobbyRaiAshtray1122 This was 5 am and they didnt tell anyone that it was going to happen. Otherwise the streets would be crowded with people... we just love F1
The rain began on the Friday of the previous week, the car would run on Monday, but it was raining, so they decided to wait until the rain ends, but continuous rain throughout the week and they had to run even with rain, the rain only stopped on Sunday.
