  • Hello Jim, thanks for this tutorial. Is there any reason you choose to play with a capo on the second, rather than just tuning directly to open E?

    Alex

  • Hi Alex - just convenience really; I find it easier to tune Open D rather than Open E, and also it means less tension on the neck of the guitar. Open E does give the tone a higher pitch of course so if you want authenticity it's best to tune Open E.

  • ops sry didnt watchd the vid completly xD im sorry

  • How to Play "Open D" - (Buckets of Rain) - Part One

    ?? you meant drop d :P

  • Thanks Graham - transferable skills is the name of the game here and if you follow those chords extra to "Buckets" you will be in for a very pleasant surprise soon I promise you.........

  • What an excellent, relaxed, informative tuition Jim. Going to rush of and put my strummer in open D and have a play.
