Simple Answer: If you live in America, you should know English. I dont know anybody who goes to Mexico, Asia, Europe and demands them to speak English so they can talk to us. Thankfully a law was just passed in some state where if your hiring, driving, or harboring an Illegal Immigrant then you get a fine and they'll be shipped back to there country.

I live next door to an illegal family with 6 children who not only don't know a lick of English but they sneer at those who try to communicate with them in that language. Depends on where you lived. In California, the Spanish were here long before the English speakers, but here's the catch. There weren't many Spanish colonists and Mexican rancheros in Alta California during Spanish and Mexican rule. The state only begins to be settled in numbers during the 20th century by Americans. As for Sioux...lol! If Rosetta Stone has a program, I'll probably consider learning it!
