especially on the sweeps. i have that same problem, i like to play fast, and it's cool when i'm sitting by myself jammin to cd's or youtube videos, but when ya get in a jamming situation, even with another acoustic or two, you gotta really articulate every note, and make them deliberate or they just don't come across. this guy is good, but if he were jammin with others, most of them notes would just be drowned out. then you see guys like you mentioned and its like "shit, it can be done!!"
