this will sound stupid but if someone could repy quick it'd be great.

Which way should the fans be facing? Different videos show them pointing different ways. I bought it and after I installed the heatsink and put the fans back on, I realized it could be wrong. Right now, both fans on mine have the CoolerMaster shiny logo facing outward away from the heatsink.

How do you know which way the air flows?

@kalalit think of it as a shovel (what would happen if u would but it in sand and spin the fan? that way u know which way the air flows... basically the right fan should blow throgh the sink the other one should pull the air out of the fins to your back fan

Get any of noctua's coolers, you'll never look back =D they are amazing, i have a D14, it was on a dual core, then a phenom IIx4, then an x6, then an i7 950, now on an i7 2600k and its been EPIC in all chips =D

I bought this heatsink for a Antec Lanboy Air, very tight fit and my fingers are raw right around the tip of the skin that connects to the nail, if you have big hands, stay away from this or if you are in a mid tower, it will not work.

I will give a try again with that cooler I installed it and I am almost to go nuts with the installation and temp I am getting 82ºC max speed on a corei7 920 @4Ghz, my Hyper 212 + do better dealing than the V6Gt, ha ! and ambien temp was 26 to 27. I think I will aply thermal paste just as u did even I think thats too much but it could be the answer to lower temps before I kick and trow to the garbage the cooler. :(

@rebourne783 Yes. The only difference between the 1156 and the 1155 socket is that the 1155 won't accept the 1156 processors. The difference is in the part where the CPU touches the motherboard, and not around the frame, so yes, you can fit these onto your 1155 socket.

This cooler is difficult to be installed but it's awesome! I overclocked my AMD Athlon II X4 620 2,6 GHz to 3,4 and it remains under 40C!!!

@isionx7 u probably dont have auto control of the fans enabled in the bios, if you have an ASUS board go into bios and enable q-fan, it auto regulates toe fan according to temps

Cooler Master V6 GT. Very good performance for $60.

For $80, top air cooler as of 11/26/10 is the Noctua Nh-d14 or Thermalright Silver Arrow.

Both the Noctua and the Thermalright Silver Arrow cool better and are significantly quieter; especially the Silver Arrow.

The Cooler Master V6 GT sounds like a turbo V8 with fans a full throttle.
