  • the propane setup is another method of exhaust flamethrowers. they use spark plugs in the tail pipes as in the other method but now they also inject propane into the tail pipes. usually with this setup they install upward tail pipe extensions to vent the flames upward because with this setup you get flames up to 30 to 60 feet. these flames could kill someone and burn tailgater cars if vented strait out. also with this setup the spark plugs burn both the propane gas and unburnt exhaust gases.

  • You guys over there definitely need higher fuel prices.

  • All for show. My V-tec would smoke both of these pieces of rubbish.

  • @AT6391 if you wanted to take a fast ride in your junk car i could let you hook a chain to the rear of my 428 powered ford truck prolly jerk your little car in half though

  • @longrifle64 bahahaha... or my v-tec would just kick in and leave you in the dust :)

  • @AT6391 lol this is funny. Your joking right?

  • HELLYEAH

  • the classic car way cooler like the truck though

  • Truck was better!!!

  • I've always wondered if flamethrowers would look good on a 1996 Impala SS...I've yet to see any..

  • @gabed96 I want to get some on my 1991 chevy caprice, almost the same body style, im trying to convert it to an impala ss. me and a friend of mine put a propane torch infront of my exhaust and it somewhat worked. Im just trying to find out how they do it for real!

  • @HummerReco What they did was drill holes in the tail pipes, weld hex nuts over the holes and screwed in spark plugs in them. then they take a second coil pack and wire it to the main coil pack or distributor. they wire both coil circuits to a switch. they rev the cars to about 3000 to 4000 rpms and flip the switch to the rear coils to fire the tail plugs. but by doing that they momentarily cut power from the main coil in order for current to fire the tail spark plugs.

  • The mercury's have just better f flames with blue effect .

But the pick up works better

  • Ahhhh America :)

  • a good reason not to tail gate these guys

  • The truck was more consistant but the Merc's were longer, at one point past the white line. Both were fun to watch, love the old Merc's!

  • the truck had more consistant flames, but the merc had the color!

  • i like the 1950 merc the flames were longer

  • WHOA, it's Cuban Hermes from GTA:VC!

  • @rodk2prod lol

  • Good way to light a cig haha

  • i got flamethorwers on my morris minor hotrod so funny when picking the kids up from school the shcools complained about lol not gona stop me.

  • mercury flamed better

  • do you still have the merc?!

  • White truck had better flame, but i just love the mercury..

  • That Merc is BAD ASS.

  • 56 ford. The merc needs some new plugs.

  • who the fuck uses propane i only know old school flames oh and the mercury by far

  • Hooly fuck . Lookz nice

  • of course the MERCURY.. =)

  • Loved the purple under glow on the mercury! a lot of hot rod guys hate it, but when it's used right it looks wonderful!

  • thumbs up for the guy who hung around for2 and a half hours!

  • How do you engage/disengage them? What about pulling into gas stations lol?

  • @Krieger91 you can do it two ways- tap into one of the spark plug wires n run a plug to the rear end (stealing the spark and causing raw unburnt gas to flow into the exhaust) or just run a separate coil alltogether n do the same thing- like dude said- good ole fashion hot rod shit- nice merc btw

  • did u jus remove the catalitic converter? or have a cat bypass?

or spark plug in exgaust system?

  • @depthsofsleep08

Lol these are pre-cat convertors mate.....

  • did u remove the catalitic converter?

or maybe spark plugs in the exhaust?

    or both?

  • AWESOME HELL FLAME

  • gotta love the ole sparkie pipe trick, i first did that with my lawn mower, I spent more time choking and blowin flames then i did mowen haha

  • Hey quick question, did you guys use the same technique or were they different. The Merc seems to have a cool blue tinge. Running premium gas? TPhe ford had that really old school feel to it though. I love them both! I really want to learn how to this. Are you using a spark plug circuit? If not, could you guys pm me, I have a 70 Cammy that would benefit from bbq'ing a few tailgaters! haha naah I'm joking...Well, half way joking. ;)

Take it easy guys and thx

  • i gotta say the merc

  • Spark plugs in the tail pipes and run a line to the battery with a switch in between.

  • were u guys using the good old spark plugs and starter soil. thats the really old school

  • hey im a rod man but i gotta say the 1956 ford was way better!

  • lmao @ the guys shirt in the backround

    nice outfit!

  • Really PH#CK up some tailgaters

  • white truck one

  • I love the mercury's flames and the car itself i'm gonna get that on my car

  • Is that a ford F-1?

  • Like that truck

  • Truck won for sure. Consistent flames through both pipes, and sounded better!

  • the truck

  • im a sucker for plue flames... but the trucks were bugger... i love them both

  • White Pick-up

  • 1956 ford pickup

  • truck all the way

  • white truck

  • Gotta give the prize to the white truck sorry merc.

  • now thats cool !

  • truck had better flames but i love mercs

  • the white truck

  • merc is to rich thats why its not lighting

  • gay

  • The white Ford quite frankly :D

  • the pickup for sure .. :D

  • white truck

  • What kits are you guys using?

are you adding any extra gas to it?

  • the '56 Ford truck had more consistent flames coming from both pipes, the Merc, kept loosing a side, but both very awesome

  • merc looked good but the truck had better flames .

  • Was für eine herrlich sinnlose Verschwendung fossiler Brennstoffe. Ganz ganz mega politisch unkorrekt, so muß es sein. BRAVO!!!!!!!!!!!

  • white truck

  • the cars was better

  • the white truck

  • I liked the truck's flames, alot more constant =D

  • Truck was much better but i like at end from the Mercury the blue flame :D

  • The '50 Merc's falmes were better when they did work. My dad owns a '48 merc and a '53 ford truck.

  • truck was the best

  • Truck was better

  • the mercury´s flames are awsome. does it have an flathead v8 110 hp with copper pipes?

  • No 472 Cobra jet with stainless pipes and crome tips

  • @Chargerboy18 472? holy shit haha!!!!!!!!!

  • i am so putting a set on my Studebaker!

that'll look kool out of the slash cut stack behind the cab

  • Love Mercurys.

  • The pickup was coolest and hade best flames

    =)

  • I personally liked the pickup trucks flames better.

  • woohoo! wash those cylinders! ahahaha!

  • Pick up has better burnin' flames.

    The Merc had the longest.

    AWSOME!!

  • white car

  • the truck had a better burning flame

  • Although the Merc at one point threw the largest flame, I think it was a bit lean for the show.

The Ford had a colder, and richer flame, and as a result had better color, and a more consistant flame.

The Ford has my vote as a better flame thower, even though I think the Merc is a cooler car.

  • Truck.....Merc is BA though....:)

  • the ford had better flames but the merc was cooler

  • truck by far. they were longer an they kept coming out both pipes

  • The truck was better. Flames lasted longer & was more consistent.

  • I vote merc... :0 )

  • i likkkd da fords .... both have sikk ass wheels tough

  • I love the fords, but the Mercury's flames were a blueish at the pipe, which really caught my attention!

  • sounds fucking mean

  • The 56 ford had better flames, but the led sleds were pretty cool too.

  • The white truck

  • Hey how did you do that, did you use propane?

  • naw there is a spark plug in the tail pipe. the heads stick out halfway with a wire leading back to a switch on the dash. any unburnt fuel coming out the tail pipe is caught a flame when they flip the switch on the dash. thus getting your flame throwers.

now in my eyes, the 56 was ok, but that 50 merc led sled was the better of the 2.

  • @Coderrocks No propane at all its all done old school

  • @Coderrocks prolly spark plug wired off past the headers prolly

  • hahaha wicked awesome! truck had better flames .. but both were great!

  • the truck was way better. flames were brighter and lasted longer

  • the 56 fords flames were better

  • ford trux flames were bigger

  • Ford truck

  • wicked

  • The truck lasts the longest

  • mercury

  • the truck men thats awsomwe

  • hey im pretty sure i see that merc at hot august nights every year =] correct me if im wrong

  • no im sure you do hes been around HAN for awhile. i just got in last year so youll see me there to

  • the trucks got the better flames

    i like em both tho

  • truck

  • damn i want that truck....

  • truck

  • i vote for the truck on the flames

my dad has a 56 ford too

  • like them both, but the ford is the winner

  • dude! can you give me the brand that you bought!? was this easy or hard to install?

  • They are made by me from junkyard parts and they are SAFE... Very easy to install and they cost about $25 not &80 for a kit

  • i have been wanting to make a setup like that... but all the kits i can find are the kind that bypasses the engine spark, which i don't like i found one active ignition system but i am unable to contact anyone on that websites contacts :( is it as easy as running a spark plug connected to a switch connected to the battery? (sorry for the essay^^^^)

  • @mralien56 No brand its all done old school and with good old fashion hot rod know how

  • @Chargerboy18 how dose that work i mean the mech behind it all what makes it shoot flames i want to do this to my eclipse and no im not a F&F wannabe or a ricer my cars got no looks at all stock body all motor work and i want to add this

  • i wanna ask some quistions i know how to install these, but i missing some info.. do you have to remove the cat fromt he exhaust, and how you do it .. second where to install the plug before the end of the exhaust or in the box it self .. i'll greatfull if you reply, cause i need to install them on my chivy car thnx

  • Plug goes 6 inches from the tip of the exhaust and no you can keep the cat you will just have smaller flames

  • yea ill have to agree with sprijic2 the merc is boss!!

  • obviously the fords flames are better. but that merc is ganster!

  • I love that deep maroon Merc, but that Cheezy pinstriping makes me want to puke.

  • wat size are the exhaust pipes on the ford?......and wat size engine does it have under the hood!!!!

  • Like em' both... But the Merc was the best.

  • I gotta say that the merc was better. nice consistent flames, lots of blue, lots of yellow. the ford was all yellow. both rides had some sweet flames coming out of the exhaust pipes

  • The Flamin' 56 is the winner

  • 1956 ford kicks arse my frined

  • how do flame thrower kits work and are they expensive?

  • No the ones we have cosy about $25 and you just need to know what your doing. I didnt buy a kit i made mine and my friend made his out of spare and junk yard parts

  • the merc is nicer but the ford beat the flame contest

  • that 1950 merc is gangster as fuck, i bet al capone drove that thing

  • Great ! Just like the way I fart !

  • I think I might just roast my marsh mellows on those

  • fucking amazing.

nothing beats the pure purr of the old-schooled muscle.

  • The flames were great for both, but just look more natural coming from the Merc. Cool...

  • the trucks were longer but the car had a cooler color to the flame

  • truck wiins

  • i say s10 kuz he wasent afraid to give it

  • damn very fuckung nice paint job man

  • I used to have a flame kit on my car...it was tricky to use at first because you need to rev the engine to get the fuel flowing but when you hit the button the ignition cuts out, then the fuel passes thru the engine out the exhaust where the spark plug in the tail pipe ignites the unburnt fuel...sometimes the engine would die if it wasn't timed right. Some flame kits inject fuel directly into the tail pipes which the spark plug then ignites

  • ok, there is a camera ready so peopel knew this was abot to happen. WHO THE HELL LET THE LIL KIDS RUN IN BETWEEN THEM, LOL

  • A dumb ass

  • were was this shot at?

  • why dont they work until you release the pedal?wud be alot cooler with flames accelerating at full throttle!

  • Impresionante el show!!! Muy buen video!!

  • cool

  • You're right Camielss,but listen to me.

In Hungary we pay cca. 1.30 euros per liter but an average payment is only 300(!)euro..........

  • $4 a gallon, you lucky son of a bitch. In Holland, we pay 1.60 euro's per liter. Which is the equivalent of $2.54 per liter. With other words, we pay $10 per gallon.

  • Ya thats nice... everyone in europe pays more for gas then we do in america.. heres a nice question for you though, how damn far do you actually have to drive? Everything in our country is so spread out we dont have a choice but to drive, Just to get to and from work everyday is over a 25 mile trip for me..

  • Uhm,, I travel 300 km to work and back or about 200 miles per day.
