  • O.M.G IT IS SO PAINFUL I CANT EVEN RUN ANYMORE!!!!!

  • =0 SHIN SPLINT then this WTF

  • If I've had this for 15 years, there is really no way to make this go away, correct? Do the stretches and exercises still help if you have had it that long?

  • its not a disease...its just evidence we push harder than the fat kids!!!

  • U dont want to strengthen the fucking quads that makes the patella get pulled more

  • there is no cure ive my parents have spent thousands of poubds seeing the best people in the uk ive rested for 2 years there is no cure

  • This sucks you can't do anything about it "why u no play sports?" = it hurts like a bitch. " wow ur a baby u WERE the best " Did this happen to any of you guys!:( cool vid!

  • just turned 13 had it since last june thought i broke a tendon until i realized i went to the bone and joint center

  • Im 22 and its never bothered me. I never really noticed it until my brother pointed it out saying "whats wrong with your knees?" but hey if it doesnt hurt me who cares.

  • i have it and im 12

  • I've had it for five years and I'm a sophomore in high school. It's really hard to train my squats and everything. Thumbs up for Osgood Schlatter's sucks.

  • I'm almost 21 and I started noticing this last year, this autumn it's only been getting worse... FML

  • LOL IT HEALS AT A YEAR AND A HALF LMAO

  • wow, i literally could play soccer for a month, and i got the okay to play soccer, but my left knee randomly started swelling, im so glad i found this video so i dont have to wait another month

  • @noelrngl1 i.m 55 and it hurts like hell

  • this disease really is terrible. You really can't do anything but rest to make it get 100 percent better and thats really hard for athletes like myself.

  • i am 20 and i have it, so young adults can get it too

  • Great Month? I was expecting great day but shit i'll take great month

  • i have it and went to doctar about 5 months late FML it hurts

  • @Haley1299 it usually goes away around adulthood (i am in 7th grade) but it can last forever :( i got mine from soccer and cheerleading...

  • ps if someone has a funny lump on their knee and they tell you not to hit them in that knee, DONT DO IT. it hurts soooooo bad!!! i hate it when i ask ppl not to so they do it more. it hurts!

  • yeah... its typically boys that get this disease, but im more athletic than most girls. i got it the way most ppl do, but its also a hereditary thing in my family. i play soccer, and heck no not stopping!

  • thats mad work tho!!

  • I'm 14 I had this during my school finals for basketball and it was extremely painful, we ended up losing by a buzzer beater and it was all my fault because I couldn't run in the pain and left my man open for a shot:( this is horrible stuff.

  • im a girl.. and ive had this since 6th grade and im going into my sophmore year of highschool and still have it,.. im a swimmer and water polo player and they say swimming herlps but it doesnt..but nothing will stop me from swimming or playing water polo.

  • I have this disease I am 13 years old and I will never quot soccer I am latino (:

  • I've had it for almost 6 years :(

  • Im 16 and had osgood since 12 and u know wat i aint stopping soccer for not even a DAY

  • just wear a full leg cast for six weeks THAT DOES NOT MAKE ANNNYYYY PRESSURE to the knee and afterwards it should go away or at least the pain will be decreased

  • Great tips. I play football in UK (soccer to US) and it does flare up every now and again. Am definately going to try these strength exercises.

    thank you for the vid!

  • ugh im 13 and im in love with soccer! this puts me back so much and i hate it! it hurts like a bitch

  • When i was a young kid I remember I went to the doctor for Osgood Schlatter. I told him my knee was hurting and if he had any advice. He looked at me and told me "you're not going to die from osgood schlatter's" That was all he said but he still charged our insurance 100 dollars too see me. Most doctors are such crooks and dont help at all for things like this. They'll just take your money.

  • it's too late 4 me i have benn doing those bad exercises

  • @michaeldominguez9 I did bad exercise too( Air Alert 3) and I just got diagnosed with this desease and doctor said that I'll have to stop playing basketball for like 1.5 - 2 years.

  • @D8can ohh i have massive pain the next day after playing soccer but thats the only way all stay fit

  • @michaeldominguez9 you can just do some exercises and/or run it will not hurt you knees.

  • Buy knee straps they prevent knee pain

  • Because of this fucking Disease , i couldnt try out for provincials . ==

  • pfff i real hate this shi...ttt

  • I have this i am 12 it sucks badly

  • and what if its already gotten worse?

  • Got it from soccer

  • @pitbullshark1 same!

  • I have this on my both legs and it hurts like hell

  • @AsBosas it's sad ..I have it too, though I'm 29, this shit is really boring.

  • this shit sucks dick

  • very helpful. this doc knows what he is talking about. good footwear could be my problem possibly. but, it is usually more than 1 issue. stretching is key.

  • like if it is in you left knee, and you feel like punching God (if hes real) for giving us this shit

  • I went to a doctor he said you have Osgood Schlatter's then did nothing so i thought it was ok but now im scared!! I play b-ball everyday.

  • @JT24cool ME TOO!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • well i play softball alot so ill just say thats my stretches cause i stretch alot during practices and before tournaments !

  • goldfart?

  • I'm 13 and this sucks so Much!

  • @SuperGooberGuy i agree, im 17 and my chances of going D1 might be Fu*ked up cuz of dis sh*t

  • @SuperGooberGuy ME TOO!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @SuperGooberGuy same...

  • @SuperGooberGuy Same, After Football My knees hurt so much!

  • @SuperGooberGuy I got it when I was 13, it hurts like hell! I had to do squats in gym class for every warm up, now I'm 15, it still hurts like hell

  • @SuperGooberGuy Same here :(

  • I have had this since 4th grade and im in 6th now my doctor said it would go away within about three months but it hasnt, any idea how long it would be ?

  • @Haley1299 After you're done growing...

  • @llynksta well dang im 5'5 now and the doctor said ill be 5'8 when im done growin !

  • @Haley1299 Just do streches and take it easy when it hurts, thats what i do and it is manageable

  • ha wow i just learned what i wanted to know my entire life. i have it on both kness and flat footed

  • I have this on both my knees. It started to appear when I was about 14 and I am 16 now and i still have Osgood-Schlatters. When do the lesions on my knee dissapear because they are extremely painful when accidentally hit and i go through 'spurts' of growth making my knees ache.

  • I had this really badly when I was younger. My knee would sort of pop and get stuck; the single most painful thing ever. Anyway, my legs are fucked now... :/

  • wish i had known this when i was going through the bad stages of osgood schlatters......i wore a brace on my right leg for 6-8 weeks and it corrected my right leg and was told it would correct my left leg as well...it didnt, know im 28 and have problems with my left knee

  • Flat feet man... Im gettin orthdodix man

  • im 15 and ive had it for a year now and none of these exercises seem to cure it...

  • @Daichidapr0 is not for curing, is for preventing and deal with it, to cure it you need fist to stop stressing the muscle for a couple of weeks, then start some rehab to make your muscles stronger.

i had it in my right leg, now i'm cured, but i'm getting it in my left leg, is a lot less than my previous injury, but you still need to have complete rest.

  • @gaspar30 thanks for the info, but its almost impossible to resist playing soccer since im an active athlete... w/e ill try over the summer haha

  • @Daichidapr0 you're welcome dude, but if you keep playing it'll be harder and the rehab will take much longer, believe me, i was off the pitch for SIX MONTHS! :'( if you can still play, that means your condition is not as bad as mine was. but who knows, was hard a 6 months for me, i'm also a soccer sucker like you have no idea.

  • i had this in grade 7 and stopped sports, nowim 22 and into bodybuilding, its starting to flare up when i do legs and squats.. just wondering if it'll get better with training and weight increase or am i gonna have chicken legs?

  • i got this during gymnastics i couldnt take the pain ; - ;

so i had to stop gymnastics and i was VERY disappointed i got it when i was 11

im 12 now -.- now when ever i bend down it hurts :( i hate this when does it go away

    or does it?

  • i have this in both of my knees and its sucks when i play hockey

  • @TheScHwAgAllDaY71 Same, its hurts to much, even putting on the knee pads hurts.

  • not to be sulky, but this doesn't help at all for those who have pieces of bone stuck in the tendons

  • i have had tons of pain with this. i had a football injury with a helmet straight to the knee and it was horriable. i aslso have this in both knees. im in basketball right now and just had practice where i fell straight on it. so basically im wearing knee pads now so hopefully it can help.

  • yer i have it too! .. are there any other strechers ? .. its mostly on my left

  • does me having this make me cool?

  • thanx man ive had osgood schlatter for 2 years and i dont know what to do im stilling running a five minute mile but no matter how much i train i can not run faster than that hopefully this will help

  • cheers man that will help lots

  • My 11 year old son has this condition. He is very active in sports. I purposely searched out on YouTube exercises to minimize the potential onset of pain or an attack. so, this is how we came about finding your video. I had him watch it and I will have him perform these exercises, before and after sports. Plus, I will upgrade his runners to search for a pair with high arch support. We will keep you posted of his progress via this medium. Thanks for the info.

  • I had to quick ice hockey for a year because of this..

  • @adamski895RS it sucks right? it sucks even more when your in gymnastics bc in gymnastics its better to start young like 5 years old but its harder when your older -.- gymnastics is VERY HARD.so yea :( i started when i was 4 they kicked me out bc i was to young to stay still xD then i went back when i was 10 i was very good till i got this -_- so i stoped after a year and a half of it this disease sucks SOO MUCH

  • @ripmichaeljackson186 Ahh sounds shit! Mines almost gone now, but i can still feel it. Hope you get back into gymnastics

  • @adamski895RS i doubt it now ; - ;

your so lucky! your is almost gone i got mine like a year ago i tink xD

this disease is a piece of shit -_-

  • waths happen if i do the motion wrong ??

  • Agree that stretching during a growth spurt will prevent Osgood-Schlatter's. However once you've got it, stretching will only make the active stage worse. Normal treatment recommended is rest and ice. Then wait 1-2 years to grow out of it. But if you want to get better in an average of 3 weeks, check out the 'Strickland protocol'.

Good video on stretching the quads and general advice.

  • I have it on my left knee. i skateboard for hours everyday and i see this bump on my knee.. i looked it up and this definately fits my description

  • shit, u guys all lucky, only have it on 1 knee, i have it for both. o well, no one to blame but me for not warming up and stretch properly, i learned my lesson lol

  • wow ty fitness quest did the 1st exercise and man did my knee feel better!!!

  • I'm 19 and I have it on my right knee but causes me no pain
