The atomic bombs were not dropped because of Pearl Harbor. They were dropped because of the people still dying all over Asia and the Pacific at the hands of Japanese soldiers. Revenge wasn't the motivation. Ending the war was. Unfortunately when diplomacy fails other options have to be considered. Like it or not, the atomic bombs saved 20 times more lives than they took.
