a cheaper way of doing it is getting a bass mount for a cowbell and getting thoose LP blocks way better then a chop block and you can take it off if you dont want it that day

SJC's kit builder gives you the option of putting a chop block on the bass drum. try yamaha they have wood edges that go on the hoops of drums

i can help you out there :p in drums that are made by laminating (over laying veneers or sheets of wood) the more number of plies the thicker the shell and the thicker the shell the more likely it is to resist vibration i think. :) if you do get one i wana know how it sounds lol

@Jramsoebhag its the thickness of the wood, so like, thinner wood has a thinner sound, theres a whole science about it that I'm not very informed on haha, its really all about preference

Who care? Get a solid shell if you gonna go for 50 ply and it will sound better. Check out Todd Created wood. His snares are the best! The bearing edges are top notch!

with the size of the kick and the fact that its acrylic...it can't hurt. I use a blanket in my kick. Soundmen hate that bass overtone. Trust me, its a bitch to get rid of . Plus he's using a Beta 52 and 91 so he'll get awesome tap and punch out of that kick when the mics are on.
