@1318991 not ridiculously hard but in order for it to sound like this the precision of the left hand and pedaling enough so as to not make the low left hand sound "muddy" has to be spot on so it's more of a difficult technical piece while musically it isn't going to make you pull your hair out =)
waaaaaaaaa i am so sick of advertisements can they just go away. I hate coming to listen to my soothing classical music and getting bombarded with a "The Hangover 2" commercial --____--
you plyed the piece way too fast and you didn't play soft enough for some of the cruicial parts of the song, also the timing is slightly off with the sheet music, other than that its pretty good.
Dynamics are all off... Many parts of this song are supposed to sound light and like a whisper. Pianissimo is marked several times, but he never goes below a mezzopiano to my ear.
@Jaybeann Well maybe that's because you have no idea what you're talking about! Sorry, but you're kinda completely off...the dynamics and style are amazing and leave very little to be improved on...
He's absolutely amazing. I can't understand how you do that with the left hand--the octaves plus. I mean, I can kind of do it up--slowly--but not back down. . . . I am screwed since I'm studying him and others for a composition teacher. *sigh*
Every time I hear this piece I melt away. My heart swells with the beauty Debussy puts in this composition. So magical, dreamy and even a bit romantic. Would love to visit France someday and listen to Debussy's music as I see the sights that brought him inspiration.
Love the song, not the playing. It's not smooth, and there's unusual accents at some places. The ritardos seem unnatural, and the playing is not lyrical... Plus, the piano quality is poor. The song itself is beautiful though. Debussy's pieces are always so colorful...If played correctly.
@Lizzytjee ohh, i envy you! ^^ i'm trying to play the piano but i'm not quite there yet... this is still too difficult for me! :/ i hope i can play this soon :) and hope you'll enjoy playing it :D
This isn't too fast at all. I know that in this piece sometimes is written "... Rit." or "dim." But that doesn't mean you have to play it slower at all. This is a perfect tempo, and that's right: You destroy the piece if you play it super slow!
Yeah, the speed wouldn't be bad if it wasn't so forceful - the guy's trying to play his heart out, instead of letting the music speak for itself, masking the beauty in unnecessary dynamics.
Some of the dynamics are ignored (such as decrescendo-ing when it's marked as crescendo, then going to about mf-f when it's marked pp), but it is the pianist's interpretation of this wonderful piece.
ahhh ~ Beautiful :)

Thank you for posting it, but there is one problem:
at 2:48, on 1-t line, in the 5-th bar the measure is not right. The note re (the last one) is supposed to be the fourth, not the eighth.

Bit too much artistic interpretation taken with the rits. in my opinion. Bit too fast also. Nice playing though apart from that!

Love the triplet polyrhythm.

I completely agree - it's too fast to sound as tranquil as it can and the dynamics aren't right in the B section for my liking.
1:55 is too fast, it just ruins it for me.
