  • ahhh ~ Beautiful :)

  • Beautiful indeed

  • Perfect. I love this piece.

  • Thank you for posting it, but there is one problem:

at 2:48, on 1-t line, in the 5-th bar the measure is not right. The note re (the last one) is supposed to be the fourth, not the eighth.

  • I want to learn how to play this for my piano class.

  • this song always makes me want to go stargazing, thanks to my childhood spent watching Jack Horkheimer. keep looking up!

  • A great Arabesque

  • Good song! I'm learning for the guitar in the key of G. Will be posting it when complete.

  • This song makes me want to fall in love.

  • This piece doesn't look hard. Maybe it is anyway?!!?!? Tell me people:-)

  • @1318991 not ridiculously hard but in order for it to sound like this the precision of the left hand and pedaling enough so as to not make the low left hand sound "muddy" has to be spot on so it's more of a difficult technical piece while musically it isn't going to make you pull your hair out =)

  • @jaimejouelapiano Ok. Thanks for your answer. Cheers.

  • just watch the sunrise while listening to this melody... you'd be left without words to speak nor express the amazing feeling you get

  • waaaaaaaaa i am so sick of advertisements can they just go away. I hate coming to listen to my soothing classical music and getting bombarded with a "The Hangover 2" commercial --____--

  • @MsFloopdedoop LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • tranquilizas my mind

  • Tranquilizes the activity of my mind.

  • People keep saying it's too fast....I don't think so, I have heard other faster versions and this one is near perfect to me.

  • Beautiful....one of my favorite pieces by Debussy.

  • This is the way like this beautiful piece have to be played :)

  • Listen to my rendition of the First Arabesque by Debussy

  • most favorite part to play 1:54

  • @iKickChickenzz so true!

  • this is beautiful T_T :)

  • you plyed the piece way too fast and you didn't play soft enough for some of the cruicial parts of the song, also the timing is slightly off with the sheet music, other than that its pretty good.

  • alicia keys

  • 3:39-3:50 :]

  • Dynamics are all off... Many parts of this song are supposed to sound light and like a whisper. Pianissimo is marked several times, but he never goes below a mezzopiano to my ear.

  • @Jaybeann Well maybe that's because you have no idea what you're talking about! Sorry, but you're kinda completely off...the dynamics and style are amazing and leave very little to be improved on...

  • @Jaybeann your speakers are probably too loud then

  • where's the double bar line?

  • All too fast! :)

  • its supposed to be mysterious and heartbreaking. too fast. but great technique!

  • Pieces like this make me feel like I'm in a cold winter night by a fireplace with hot cocoa. Divinity!

  • Bit too much artistic interpretation taken with the rits. in my opinion. Bit too fast also. Nice playing though apart from that!

  • @macaroonsification who is your favorite pianist for this piece? i love to buy some debussy music, but i cant settle down on the artist

  • Love the triplet polyrhythm.

  • I completely agree - it's too fast to sound as tranquil as it can and the dynamics aren't right in the B section for my liking.

1:55 is too fast, it just ruins it for me.

  • He's absolutely amazing. I can't understand how you do that with the left hand--the octaves plus. I mean, I can kind of do it up--slowly--but not back down. . . . I am screwed since I'm studying him and others for a composition teacher. *sigh*

  • my piano teacher just gave me this... fml

  • -sigh- Why does there always has to be people that dislike such beautiful music?

  • Every time I hear this piece I melt away. My heart swells with the beauty Debussy puts in this composition. So magical, dreamy and even a bit romantic. Would love to visit France someday and listen to Debussy's music as I see the sights that brought him inspiration.

  • very good

  • I love Debussy's piano pieces, like this one and Reverie. They're so beautiful, it's like you're in a dream :)

  • Love the song, not the playing. It's not smooth, and there's unusual accents at some places. The ritardos seem unnatural, and the playing is not lyrical... Plus, the piano quality is poor. The song itself is beautiful though. Debussy's pieces are always so colorful...If played correctly.

  • @seraphimsaphael

    *piece -- not song ;D

  • @seraphimsaphael How about tfhis?

  • ahhhh debussy =)

    suscribe

  • Ciccolini is my favorite with Debussy

  • not only is this song amazing gorgeous, it's also extremely fun to play. THANKS DEBUSSY :)

  • @HoondeBoonde agreed

  • 141 likes no dislikes. This is showing you again that the group which is listening to music like this is different than the rest of youtube :)

  • Decent performance, but the reverb is awful.

  • This on trumpet so sounds amazing :]

  • this is what heaven sounds like

  • @shanavalli I agree

  • @shanavalli Heaven sounds like heaven.

  • This is so wonderful <33 got this sheet music today from my piano teacher :)

  • @Lizzytjee ohh, i envy you! ^^ i'm trying to play the piano but i'm not quite there yet... this is still too difficult for me! :/ i hope i can play this soon :) and hope you'll enjoy playing it :D

  • playing this right now and will enter this into a contest :}

  • playing this right now. any tips? :)

  • I used to play this - still love it

  • This isn't too fast at all. I know that in this piece sometimes is written "... Rit." or "dim." But that doesn't mean you have to play it slower at all. This is a perfect tempo, and that's right: You destroy the piece if you play it super slow!

I love to play this... Wonderful recording!

  • It's not too fast... You destroy the piece if you play it super slow!

  • @chichi8498

I heard this on Cfm the other day and knew I recognised it from somewhere, thankyou! it had been bugging me ever since...

  • @chichi8498 ...carrying on the genious of Debussy!

  • @chichi8498

Why is that funny? Many classical and romantic composers were inspired by those who came before them.

  • Yeah, the speed wouldn't be bad if it wasn't so forceful - the guy's trying to play his heart out, instead of letting the music speak for itself, masking the beauty in unnecessary dynamics.

  • I love this music piece so much! ^_^

  • Some of the dynamics are ignored (such as decrescendo-ing when it's marked as crescendo, then going to about mf-f when it's marked pp), but it is the pianist's interpretation of this wonderful piece.

    Good.

  • Fantastic music...

  • I completely agree - this is played far too fast and the dynamics aren't being communicated well at all either. Got the notes - just not the MUSIC.

  • I love this piece.

Finally the perfect debussy's Arabesque interpretation 4 me.

  • this is far to fast

  • Fantastic but I thing that's too fast... i love it...

  • i love this piece, its so soothing :) i'm learning this right now too :D

  • Comment removed

  • its like a river!

  • so beautiful

  • it's pure as water

  • Oh Dios, ¡¡como me gusta!!

Oh God, I really love it!!
