Can you post a video how u do the tirkits. I've been trying to sefl teach Dhol. the only part i do not gettttttttt its the TIRKITS, and its pissing me off. it would be awesome if u can post a video.
oh i see what you are trying to say. i wish i knew how to stop the resonating effect. i believe it has to do with the type of skin that you have on your dhol. but other than that, im not so sure
@samrarikhangoora I meant "SUSTAIN" resonance! Not clean!!!!! HAHA, no really mine sustains way to long how to make stop sustaining or resonating.?? get it?
@tintala thats actually good the last thing you want is flat muted sounding dhol but you call it bayan does a tabla with no sustain have a good sound no it`s going to sound terrible
@monikhushalpuri well when I listen to bhangra , I hear a muted sound on the baya, my baya side rings and resonates so much , it cannot be recorded, I am using the dhol in a recording studio, too many transients on the bass.
@monikhushalpuri yeahI call it baya side "LEFT" side......? Tabla needs sustain, tabla and dhol totally 2 differents sounds and techniques that you play..not comparable.
@samrarikhangoora hey man does any dhol sound better without the protective rim cuz my nagi taali sounds terrible and i was thinking about putting a remo on it
@monikhushalpuri ya i actually used to have the protective rim on another dhol and it sounded like shit. so i took it off. they dhol i have in this video has a remo head. its pretty nice. and its really durable. ive had it for like 5 years and it u tune it once and u never have to do it again
@samrarikhangoora ok thanks man i ended up taking the rim off 2 weeks ago ND USED THE BOLTS ON JUST THE TREBLE but it literally has a thin rim(thinner than your dhols rim in this vid) without the protective1 and i didn`t want it to get ripped so i put the protective rim back onbut i`m gonna try and get a remo if not then oh well i`m going to india next year and might go over to ravi danas and have him make a sheesham dhol for me or a straight barrel
@samrarikhangoora thanks man i`m gonna be going to a local music shop where i live that sells many remo heads and pick up the weather king and maybe a ebony amboassodor for my little brothers dhol
hey dude i dont have your video anymore. i had it on my computer but i lost everything. even my vids. lol so how've you been? havent heard from you in a while
hey thanks. yeah i love that dhol and its the best dhol i have ever seen bar none. i got it from the dhol factory in the UK. i had it imported to the US. pretty pricey but totally worth the wait and money.
they dhol factory was hella cool cuz they make your dhol to your specifications and you can put any thing you want on it
i got in from the dhol factory in the UK. I payed almost 600 US dollars for it but it was worth every dollar. that dhol has the best sound i have ever heard. really traditional and pure
not at the moment, i have a really shit dhol that i practiced on for a long time, and i really need a new one, so having one made in India and brought with a relative. After i get that one, ill put one up. Did you teach yourself to play??
yeah it took me a couple weeks to learn the basics but once i got the hang of it. i just started learning new beats left and right mostly from listening to numerous songs and instrumentals.
straight. yeahh i stopped playing for while cause i didnt want to play on my old one, but now im getting since im getting a new one, have to check out videos on beatz.
id recommend watching clips of raju dholi. the one from california and the one from canada. since there are two rajus and they are both equally some of the finest dholis in the world
