@MultiWBN Actually, blood elves are mana-withdrawl maddened high elves, night elves are a completely separate race, both did descend from the Highbourne though. But you are correct in calling sylvanas a high elf. she was, but her death led to the destruction of the Sunwell when it was used to resurrect Kel'Thuzad as a lich, which led to the High elves becoming the blood elves.

Sylvanas was a high elf, but was raised from death by Arthas. After Arthas attacked the High Elves, they renamed themselves the Blood Elves. So Sylvanas is an undead high elf, as she wasn't one of the elves that renamed themselves.

What markings? She is a High Elf and High Elves are descendants of the Highborne Night Elf race so therefore she is a Night Elf. Also, she does that annoying Night Elf jump when she stands still. Very annoying. But she still rocks.

There is an item that drops off the enemies around Windrunner Spire in the Ghostlands, called "The Ladies Necklace" that will send you on a series of quests to turn it in and hear her sing.
