We Understand the performance, its about the devoyion to St. Vincent Ferrer, the point here is, they have NO STORY in the entire show!.. I mean No specific event on how the people show their devotion to the Saint. . .That's it...

Aliwan organizer is playing safe, the 1st &

2nd place was already pre-arranged for Sinulog & Dinagyang respectively, accdg. to popularity.

Takot sila na 'pag matalo ang Sinulog at Dinagyang sa competition ay baka hindi na sumali sa susunod na Aliwan.

Organizers agrees that Aliwan is nothing without Dinagyang & Sinulog, ilonggo & cebuano crowds are big factor to the success of the Aliwan.

Ang totoong competition ay mangyari lamang kung hindi kasali ang Dinagyang at Sinulog.

The main purpose of Aliwan is not just the competition. It's a showcase of how rich our culture is - something that MOST FAIL TO RECOGNIZE because of their increase fanaticism on anything that is western (or at least not ours!). Winning is just the tip of the iceberg.

come to think of it, the Champion (Sinulog) and the Runner-Up (Dinagyang) are all festivals in honor of Senyor Santo Nino...

The performance is a quite exciting, but the music and choreography showcase the true meaning of their festivities.

Saad introduces the new innovation in streetdancing.

Saad is religious/spiritual fest and not a tribal dance.

Aliwan is not a one beat,one dance format, this is an open category that showcase a different filipino culture.

Ang tinitingnan ng mga judges ay kung ang choreography niyo ba ay tugma sa totoong meaning ng inyong festivities.

For example kung ang festival niyo ay Bangus festival pero ang sayaw at music ay sa Sampalok festival.

Sabihin ng mga judges ano yan Sinigang festival.

Oo nga, Saad is a spiritual dance. Its their way of giving devotion to their Patron Saint. It just so happens that they won in the Ksadyahan Competition of Dinagyang and now their have a chance in competing in Aliwan and promoting their town to the whole country.

People are so preoccupied with who's in the top that they fail to realize the bigger relevance of the Aliwan Fiesta, which is a showcase of how beautiful and diverse our culture is.

Well we've seen them live and its disappointing. Vis-a-vis other festivals participating in the aliwan winning is a remote possibility. Isa pa bi, nag-perform sila before sang paghidaet and there was some sort of expectation from the audience nga wala na reach. maybe paghidatet was too good nga we tended to compare.
