I think this movie is beautiful. I remember my cousins preaching how they hated it but they suck anyway. There is really a lot of depth. Between the music and the scene when he prays to God at moonrise, it is evident the writer is a very introspective person.

I have been a huge fan of this film since my brother and I miraculously happened to see it 20 years ago in the theater. So much interwoven meaning lies within this slightly quirky movie, and it'll always be around the top of the list of the movies that mean a lot to me!!

Don't think it's at all weird. It's rather obvious what he's getting at. Some hooligans held him up in Manhattan and hung him from his shoes from a rooftop. A lot of things flash through your mind. "Your whole life is ahead of you." Or whatever she says at the end. Weird? It's supposed to be. If he didn't put that silly stuff in there nobody would watch it.

Quite possibly the most underrated film of all time. A wonderful wonderful wonderful story beautifully told.

Georges Delerue composed a masterful melody and theme. Along with Jerry Goldsmith these 2 men left a legacy of superlative film and music composition that I have yet to experience with other composers still living today. I miss them both.
