  • Chael Sonnen disliked the video

  • hes a fukking Ninja!!

  • Da pra procurar um braço no meio dessa raspada eim ?! fácil, fácil !

  • are they really playing the fray in the background?

  • PICTURE A FIGHTER BUILT LIKE THIS;

    Stefan Struve's - "Height

    Jon Jones' - "Reach"

    Brock Lesnar's - "Weight"

    Shane Carwin's - "Punch Power"

    Frankie Edgar's - "Speed"

    Anderson Silva's - "Technique & Accuracy"

    Greg Jackson's - "Camp/Coaching"

  • you forgot jose aldo's leg kick

  • @SpiderSugaRushShogun you forgot GSP's athletisism.

  • @SpiderSugaRushShogun take away Greg Jackson's coaching and it might actually make an exciting fighter

  • i just pulled dis off at practice , works like magic =D

  • people wanna talk machida on this video. who has done better in the mma and who still has the title and who has defended his title more thank u. machida is good. but silva has proved p4p he the best.

  • @themancaneatme801 but mostly capoeira, mostly

  • isn't this the star sweep?

  • time for this spiderman to step up to super belfort!

  • doesnt this look like magic? xD

  • wait have u seen anderson and chael sonnen fight that show wht heart does silva has he let chael punches him for a few times and was taking them like a man.

  • this dude right here can take a punch and not be hurt by it! chael landed some punches that would have ended 99.9 percent of any other fighter out their! the spyder is hands down the baddest mo fo in the ufc....i know he lost in pride though...maybe american fighters are easier to beat for him?

  • the best!

  • Oh shit I love this, it's so deceptive, definitely going to use this

  • its called star sweep, im not a troll dont bitch at me... im just saying

  • Comment removed

  • that would never work in a real fight...

  • Not in an MMA fight, if you're in a street fight against a mindless non-thinking retard and he's postured up like that in your guard, he wouldn't know what the fuck you're doing. So they wouldn't try and stop it and they would wait to see what you were doing, It wouldn't be as affective in MMA, because MMA PROFESSIONALS aren't dumb to fall for that shit, right?

  • Everyone knows the best fighters in the world train listening to The Fray. Haters keep hatin

  • Nice i might use it when i do mma

  • His best sweep was against Nate Marquardt... He really, really didn't see that coming... ah ah ah

  • i think its funny how everyone hypes up GSP's gaurd passing skills.. the guy got caught using vasoline on the outside of his theighs when he fought Penn... i hate how GSP turns MMA into a damn wrestling tournament and his little lay and play tactics in my opinion he is the most BORING fighter in the UFC

  • wow i would love to train with anderson silva

  • right when silva was an all fours, I would of ripped my left leg out and took his back. But I dont know what silva would of done from there

  • i dont think when applying the sweep he would stay in such a vulnerable position for very long

  • True that, but thats the beauty of jiu jitsu, you take what you get and if it doesnt work, go to the next best thing

  • kill you

  • Kill me who, anderson silva, Oh yeah, no denying that. You, Id like to see that. My name is rick gabbert, I train under rick estrada at subfighter MMA in lake forrest. Come by if you wanna roll

  • are you really trying to offer a match over youtube?

i never claimed to be that good definitely at bjj

    but anderson would kill you

you were wondering so i told you

  • @MrRick1254 ok

  • i prefer goin for x guard if the guy stands

  • I personally prefer the lumber jack sweep from that position but it can be difficult to get a hold of both ankles to pull it off so this sweep seems to be a good alternative.

  • frost shut the fuck up you dont know shit bout ufc or mma . be quiet and make us all happy

  • text book judo

  • Scram with your machida comments this is the SPIDERS video. The man who fckin gave F Griffin a LESSON in the world of mma.

  • @markiekelly67 anderson and lyoto are training partners.

  • It looks like you're trying to pass guard and he counters and ends up in your guard after the sweep.

Is it really better to go from having closed guard to being in the other guy's guard? I've done some BJJ and the guy with guard usually has an advantage. I guess it's different in an MMA fight where you can get hit in the face while you're in guard...

  • Def geared more for MMA. Imagine if you didn't want the fight on the ground.

  • yeah but ur smart to question it because if u r fast and confident to where u can not only take a heavy punch and shift your hips to throw their punch off then its worth staying on bottom because if u watch the worlds best fighter pound for pound fight he is on his back on a few ocasions and he is able to execute a perfect armbar without getting hurt all to much or atleast he doesnt let the pain affect his ability to fight

  • fuckin amazing those guys dont understand how privalidged they are to be in his presence.

  • spider silva = best mma fighter all time

  • yeah maybe if u never heard of fedor

  • @jigglyfidda125

guessed u missed his performance at ufc 112 = biggest embarassment of all time!

I still want to see him fight gsp though... Proven record wise, Fedor is the best mma of all time...

  • @chadley6916 i should have known you were a fedor nut hugger. his performance at ufc 112= completely clowning on maia and having absolutely no respect for his boxing or lack their of. do you think he is going to go to the ground with the most decorated submission artist in the ufc? people are giving him odds to beat shogun and you want to see him fight gsp? BAHAHAH he is way too big for welter weight and if gsp stepped up anderson would retire him.

  • @jigglyfidda125 a true technician yes, but let's see him overcoming beatdowns and win fights like fedor or big nog

  • @arikat1 That's interesting. I personally don't think Silva can take a hard beating and be able to dominate someone. His chin is suspect in my opinion. His skills and technique are excellent, but as soon as someone outguns him in the striking department we will see him lose it. I guarantee that will be very soon. Fedor is amazing for his ability to take harsh punishment and win.

  • Yeah but the thing about Silva is that he can dodge everything. He got nailed by Demian Maia a few times in the 4th or 5th round when Silva's back was against the cage, then Silva started smiling and shaking his head at Maia, we know his chin is good. Maia isn't a pussy, he's more the submission guy, but they're professionals and he definitely has knock-out power, especially at 185.

  • @arikat1 I also meant to say, "when Silva gets hit on the chin hard, that's when we will see if he can take punishment". So far I don't think he has been hit truly hard just yet. I think we will find out very soon. As I said before.

  • @jigglyfidda125 All time? ahhahahahahahahaha, that would be fedor emelianenko

  • @jesperchristensson

Fedor=Greatest brawler as of right now and he's also untested

Anderson Silva=Best P4P which means most skilled, the guy knocks guys out with every limb on his body

  • @ballsoffury4 To say Fedor is untested is just insane..He dominated the sport longer then anyone..

Sadly,he stoped evolving plus time takes it's tough...

Anybody who understands MMA,knows that it's not the same Fedor we seen last two years..

For me,Anderson,Fedor,St Pierre..are all in the same league..

  • Shogun too...baby.

    Brothers Rua...Still Ballin.

  • C'mon Wand was the man in pride...

Welcome to Spider, Machida and Shogun ERA!

  • machida and anderson yes, shogun no

  • shogun no?, dont bet your money on machida on this one, im just trying to help you lol.

  • machida the best of all time? he has fifteen fights. he had two credible opponents and beat them. TWO. a not in his prime yet evans. and an aruably in his prime thiago. he is FAR from being the best mma fighter of all time. no disrespects to the man btw.

  • actually he beat shogun, franklin, evans, thiago silva, stephan bonnar and bj penn. seems like more than TWO credible opponents to me

  • he barely beat shogun. Shogun SACRED that man. AND....everyone says Shogun won that in reality but not on the score cards so...watch it for yourself

  • wanderlei was mad with anderson.

because rich franklyn training in the chute box gym ...

  • Soukkatti, Silva already stated they Machida deserves the 205 lb belt and he will not fight him, and they are training partners, and Machida said he would not fight Silva aswell.

  • Anderson Silva needs to fight at 205. I dont see anyone beating him at 185 right now and his fights are getting long and tedious. Him and Lyoto Machida is a dream fight, that would be amazing. But then again it is all up to him and what he wants to do. He has been talking about retirement so we'll see.

  • machida & silva -> same team

    not gonna happen i think..

  • hes gonna fight forest grifin august 8th im stoked

  • yeah it is a dream fight BUT they are too good of friends and have said they will not fight eachother

  • lyoto and anderson are teammates, i dont think that there's a possibly of a dream fight

  • I honestly wouldn't want to see Silva and Lyoto fight; it would be so boring because neither would want to engage and risk losing, especially since they're training partners. GSP vs Silva would kick ass because they both have similar, accurate striking but the ground work would be phenomenal since GSP couldn't simply outmuscle him and they would both have to use skill. I want to see Wanderlei fight Anderson because, despite his bad luck, I think he meshes well with style to beat the Spider.

  • i agree bro, but i think wanderlei cant beat anderson, i think that hes too elusive for wanderlei

  • i think if anything silva would set the pace, anderson isnt scared of getting hit, look how colse he was to griffin in their fight, he even had his hands down shouting hit me hit me. machida is the one who is scared to get hit, look at the rashad fight.

  • To say he is scared is a bit overbearing. Smart would be more like it. That's his game, he frustrates his opponents with his evasion and snipes em. He's a counter fighter.

  • @TheGr8one1022 Gsp would win on the ground, he is the best guard passer at welterweight and although Anderson a size advantage I think GSP would fin by decision or ground and pound, or who knows, he could pull one of those kicks out of his ass and win it that way.

  • LOL.

  • Long and tedious? How long was his fight with Forrest?

  • like 4 minutes

  • Exactly. That one was not long.

  • first round, forrest was dropped 3 times before get knocked

  • I know. I was proving something to an idiot who posted earlier.

  • Yeah, you're right...

see the spider never be tedious...

he shut up montreal...and gsp cock suckers.

never boo one fighter like anderson.

  • that wasent really a knock, forrest gave up, big heart my ass, he simply gave up

  • Anderson are a showman...

    michael Jackson goes on...

But the spider make the concert continuous.

    When anderson comes up...

    And the speaks start...uhhh

"Ain't no sunshine " the oponents run away....Run forrest Run...Funny as Hell.

  • what the fuck are you talking about?

  • Jep thats Big Nog

  • gay

  • his ground game ain't no joke, its legit

  • anderson silva is deadly on the ground and on his feet, his ground game is completely underestimated, watch him choke out dan henderson on the ground, hes flawless

  • is that Minitauro Nuegeria? I didn't know how to spell his name but you guys should know him from the mma fights.

  • yeah hes the one who gave anderson silva his black belt in brazillian jiujitsu

  • Anderson Silva knows how to fight on the ground??... really???... wow, we should hope to see that in his fights... From what i've noticed, he avoids the ground like herpes..

  • here he did that again

  • hes very good in the ground

  • im pretty sure he knows that he fucks shit up while standing so why would he want to go to the ground anyway.

he has bbj skills im sure he would use them when necessary

  • Oh my god. He is a brazilian jiu-jitsu blackbelt, it speaks for itself.

And if that's not enough for you, has he ever been submitted on the ground? No.

He avoids the ground because anyone can be a good grappler in MMA, because of the allowed striking there.

But him being superior to almost anyone in the standup makes him want to keep it standing, plus standing fights usually make better fights for the fans, and he is well sure of the UFC's policys on boring fights. Anderson Silva is flawless.

  • if thats not good enough for me??... wtf? Im just staying I would like to see him use his ground game more because when he fought T.Leites, he looked like he was afraid to go to the ground. Major disappointment of a fight.

  • Okay, Silva is a BJJ blackbelt but you are wrong Rio Chonan and Takase, both submitted Silva, what Chonan did was amazing, and Takase just caught him, but no doubt Silva is great, and the reason he was caught by them is because Asian Jiu Jitsu consists of standup and grappling which is one thing brazilian jiu jitsu has no ties with, striking.

  • yea but that was long time ago and not in the ufc.. so that dosent really count cuz he wasnt in his prime ??

  • Yeah he avoids it because no one is really better than him in striking in his weight class. He choked out Dan Henderson a really good wrestler so he doesn't suck he's really good. Probably the better striker than him is Lyoto machida.

  • Wrong.

  • @tigerninja14 dan henderson doesn't have much submission defense.

  • you would ground and pound because it allows you to keep out of the ground game but still finish the fight you could simply circle to where you are over your oppents head and ground a pound while standing

  • lame.. why would u ground and pound a guy while standing???? overated

  • where is that gym at???? please respond

  • *This was from a 2 Day Muay Thai and Brazilian JiuJitsu seminar with Anderson 'Spider' Silva and Antonio Minotauro Nogueira In Seattle March 15/16 2008.

    learn to read the description.

  • i would never pull turtle guard over the single.

  • I thought that was called something else

  • Even if the sweep failed you still have the option to pull turtle guard or hit a single leg. Cool video thanks for posting!

  • greatest ever anderson silva. big fan

  • silvas awesome, you are lucky dude

  • This sweep is horrible. Never works, i was at this seminar and i think Nogueira and Silva showed this as a seminar move; meaning a move that is more flashy then technical to please the participants.

  • If u do it fast enough it wouldnt be bad, but it is high risk in mma. if ur not athletic as fuck id stay away from it.

  • what a badass..................

  • awesome sweep

  • anderson silva and whats with the racism I really think racism on youtube has reached its peak I mean honestly that shit doesnt make you cool nor is it funny most caucasian people wouldnt even be racist to a black person at least seriously and definitely not to someone like anderson silva and I already know a white person probably gonna say this hes Brazilian and I say this does it matter a german or european are no different to me then a american white they are all the same

  • so me saying hes black is justified

  • racism is needed ...we need to fight fire with fire ...i dont understand people saying dont stoop to their level bs...thats just another way of saying i quite the fight and ill let people butt rape people wanna burn u for ur skin color why not shoot the same treatment back besides might as well fight till everything goes really bad cuz we cant do anything about it ...so relax and enjoy a bag of racism

  • I guess you know what I think if just once someone got killed or someone racist got really fucked up for talking shit then that might make them realize maybe I should chill out otherwise it still is going to happen or if youtube forced you to put your address and phone number and shit maybe you might get a more humble experience I think

  • dont say anything if u didnt understand what i said ....humble lol most people who act like their some kind of saint r usually the on the opposite side of the spectrum ....like i said relax enjoy a bag of racism if u really look at it its a very beautiful thing every race does it and whites so far from what i have seen are the best best of luck to u hopefully u dont die of a heart attack

  • what do you mean opposite side of the spectrum I mean enlighten me and im guessing you think im old or something im 22

  • perfectly said

  • star sweep. hard to do fast.

  • hahaha great song in the background. its the fray

  • a yeah dat move hot and all but it sound like he hittin his back hard as fuck on dat mat lol

  • That move is crazy Black fighter are the best in the world although people don't want to admit it! And thats in boxing and MMA!

  • He's Brazilian

    0_o'

  • yeah but hes still black!

  • That is a great guard pass/sweep/setup move!

  • Anderson is sick, man. That's a killer move.

  • i hope there aint no big chuck fans but if anderson and chuck went at it how big of an ass whooping do you think chuck will get?

  • chuck will get ko by ref stopping but probably not knocked out cold, silva would still own the whole fight, out pace, out move, and out think chuck, making it look like a mismatch. no diss to chuck, cuz silva makes alot of his fights look like mismatches and all his opponents are great. don't see it getting pass round 2.

  • that's right, it doesnt matter who the fighter is, you just cant touch silva. no matter how strong or how fast. BUT no one is invinsible, silva HAS been beaten, and for everyone to forget that hes got to fight all four of those fighters, so we can call him or even think about the word "invincible"

  • Hey buddy, when Silva lost it was to Asian style old school jujitsu. Basically a different method of attack. He isn't going to see anything he has never seen before in the UFC. In Pride yeah. But in the UFC nothing different to throw him off. Really think about it. Look at Bone Jones beating Stephen Bonnar. Basically stuff Bonnar never thought off. If he didn't pull new stunts it may have been a different fight.

  • if your talking about the ankle hook loss. i was because silva was fighting on a fractured ankle and that was the ankle the guy went for.

  • sickk move!

love how The Fray is playing through all this lolll

  • This is a really good move. I'm anxious to get a chance to try it out on someone.

  • yup he comes up with his knee, that's the most important part of this technique.

  • It's funny, but I was watching this a few days ago a bunch of times, trying to remember it, and then I got to class and my instructor taught this move. In his version we took sidemount after the opponent has falling, but we do BJJ with the GI. I'm sure either one is useful in MMA.

    Great posts.

  • the key thing is to sell the armbar. Usually if they dont bite on the armbar i cannot get it

  • if they block it u can try the kneebar

  • nice move gonna try it on my coach lol

  • Sick move.

  • One, what is this move actually called? And two, is there a video of him doing it faster? Threes one point in the video thats him doing it fast, but it still seems like he has slowed it down a little to help people learn better.

  • its called the star sweep..in the clip they are lifting the leg, its more effective when u drag there leg forward..i know im not an expert lol but yea from what i been told..it is more effective too

  • Both guys look very nice

    WAR SPIDER !!!!!

  • yes, ive pulled it rolling and ive had it pulled on me

  • shut the fuck up you fucking retard!

  • lol calmdown

  • I don't see that move working in a real fight too fancy

  • like a flying heel hook

  • um this is basic. its usuallly done with an omoplata when the guy stants up, but he just goes into it. very very basic move

  • it works believe it

  • It's a basic move and I use it all the time in gi and no gi against people that let you hook their foot. Purple belts and above usually don't let you even have the opportunity to pull this move off, but it certainly works and is probably the best sweep in a real fight situation against someone who's punching at you in your guard.

  • fedor would eat anderson up

    sorry to say

  • so true...fedor is so good at every aspect.

  • Only due to size and power advantage.

P4P Anderson Silva is the best in the World.

  • there are three fighters that would make good candidates to fight Anderson Silva George st pierre ,Thiago Pit bull Alves,Lyoto Machida,so far he has beaten one champion that only knows obsolete techniques in the U.F.C therefore if he fought the likes of those I have just mentioned it would be worthy although I personally think that Anderson is a bad mutha fucker

  • Anderson is simply incredible maybe the best to ever do it man! On top of that I really like this guys attitude he seems to be a really cool dude.

  • noooooo shittt wat i would do to be theree mann

  • that move is fucking awesome bro!!!!

  • excellent

  • what a move i like to learn that one

  • Wow. Agree with everyone below, what an honor to learn from them and see through their eyes. Probably the best BJJ (nog) and the best striker (spider) in th world.

  • Is this the gym in West Palm Beach Florida? Anyone know?

  • holy shit. Nog and Silva in one room = godly

  • he's amazing

  • wow! what an honor it must've been to have both of them teach! if only they'd head to Chicago to give a seminar.

  • If they came to Chicago I would head to whatever gym they teach at with the quickness. That would be one of my dreams. They're two of my all time favorite fighters.
