@RCskater97 After seeing her lackluster start to the Grand Prix Series are you still thinking Frank's all that great for Mirai? I respect your opinion, but I won't be told who I need to respect:] I just think Mirai has too much potential and Frank is NOT the right coach to tap into her potential and bring it out. She needs someone else - she looks like she's asleep on the ice ever since she switched to Frank - (totemo tsumadanai desu ne...) :(
@sk8ingcoach1 I vehemently disagree! She's lost her spark - she just looks like a polished, mediocre skater under franks guise. I love Mirai's skating and just hate to see her 'regress'. I don't think Frank's a good fit for her, but staying motivated to skate your best is so difficult at her level so maybe this is the situation she needs at this time in her life. I just hope she eventually moves on and becomes the champion she was, and can be again:]
@russiaboy58 She doesnt have the same spark because she's not a little girl anymore. Watch her short from cup of china, she is coming 2nd. And because of the smart move by frank to give her a more mature program, she is getting good program components over the younger girls doing harder jumps. She cant have a little bubbly girl program anymore because she needs the component marks to get her ahead now that her jumps arent as good
@sk8ingcoach1 I know what you're saying but when I watch Carolina Kostner skate (who is not a little girl either and is having some difficulties with her jumps as well; removed the lutz, glad the flip is back) I see spark and enthusiasm in her skating - so just because an athlete matures doesn't mean they can't also be an enthused skater. She just doesn't look happy to me out there; I respect your opinion though and I don't mean to sound as if I don't find any merit behind it.
She seems so confident and grown up in the short. Hopefully she can bring this confidence to the long too. This is more of the winner's attitude she needs.
@RCskater97 Ugh!!! I can't stand it when fans of other skaters assume that everyone else share's their opinion. Since you shared your opinion on Michelle, here's mine: she essentially skated the same program repeatedly from 1997 through 2003. Same tired steps into all the jumps and I give her kudos for her ability to perform under pressure but I never got chills when she skated. Never... I'm glad you like her, so do MILLIONS of other spectators...
The skating is great, the dress is nice, but the music is not pleasant. I think she needs to choose something that is more audience and judge-friendly, especially since she's still establishing herself on the international scene. Oh well, I hope she has a better season this year!
@T4imerxD I'm not really "into" her music selection but I suppose it is a new 'look' for her and she pulls it off nicely. However I do tend to agree that the program's a bit boring - seeing how she is coached by Frank Carol (the king of taking the excitement and thrill out of a skater's performance) it's not surprising - IMO (I know many skating fans and skaters alike love his coaching, etc.)...
@YouEnvyMyCoolSN No I'd not know that she chose this music (("Yokata desu ne, Mirai-san":]))
Thanks for the information, perhaps I'll view the program through a different light now:] That said, I don't renege my opinion about Frank - I'm just not a fan of his work...

I'm really happy to see her in this condition: she is not just technically excellent, but she has improved the artistic part a lot! The only thing I don't understand is why has she chose to do the flying camel and not the flying sit...

No longer the little girl that just JUMPS. She is growing up, much more mature skating.

The skating is good; however, the music is so discordant it is unpleasant to listen to. I ended up muting the sound.
