  • It is a story based on a true story. And the reall girl was from Lithuania.

The same is happening nowadays... sad, but human trafficking was, is and will be.

  • @LightSunshine LİETUVA LİETUVA LİETUVA @

  • The truth is that a lot of men are just fucking pigs. I'm a man and I hate them.

  • Powerful song; powerful film.

  • An Awesome movie..... great picturization ..So sad for all those people on this earth who have suffered and are suffering.. god bless them all ..

  • Fantastic film - so real, and has one of the best soundtracks I have heard as well

  • It is sad true. This movie is based on true facts that happened with lithuanian girl. And this movie was filmed in Estonia. However I don't know why creators of this film decided to use russian language. One of the explanations could be that girl playing Lilja is russian actress.

  • Una Autentica obra de arte esta película!

  • I hate Rammstein, but it totally fits in Lilja 4-ever! Great movie!

  • Amazing film. Moodysson kicks you in the teeth with such a power that you don't even expect it and then he's not letting you to stop watching. This movie is simply one of the best cinematographic pictures of Swedish new cinema. Must see!

  • If I would catch at least one of these fucking rapers especially the "Chief" one their own mother would mistake them with a pasta

  • russian, estonian, whatever; this movie shoed the bad side of human(female)transit....

  • most depressing and disturbing film...

  • I hate sexual exploitation in this world. People who watch porn or pays for sex are probably contributing to that shit.... STOP IT!

  • @paulmx I agree but it's natural, it will never stop until human nature alters.

  • @dusyad the director is swedish, not estonian! It's Lukas Moodysson :)

  • This is probably the best movie I've ever seen. This movie shows what happens quite often in Eastern Europe. I'm also Eastern European and everybody wants to go to the richer countries for a better life, because if you're not rich, you just have a shit life. Horrible to see how her own mother leaves her and than this disgusting guy that uses her as a prostitute just to be rich. The director of this movie just did such a good job by picking the right music at the right moments... amazing!

  • I've seen this movie a few days ago

    very sad and beauty movie

The best film of Lukas Moodysson, a great film maker!!

  • amazing film. blew my mind. Lilya 4 Ever is (currently at least) free on google videos for those of you who haven't seen it. Had more of an impact on me than any number of policy documents or newspaper articles about human trafficking. we should all be lobbying our governments to control this crime. big thumbs up to Lukas Moodysson

  • I love OKSANA and ARTIOM,,,They are talented and Brilliant ,,Hope the best for them!!

  • Any of you who live in a first world country and wanna whinge wear goth make up and complain about how hard your life is watch this movie and quit bitchin.

  • I see they used this song in the film 300 too. There is one big difference. In300 you wont be crying during this song.

  • I see they used this song in the film 300 too. There is on big difference. In300 you wont be crying during this song.

  • The director is swedish.

  • the most lovely and beauty full girl i ever seen!!! i love her so m !!

  • I can only bring myself to watch this movie once as its far far too depressing. Totally brilliant movie though and will recommend it to anyone, but it touches the very soul of your body this movie.... and as for Rammstein songs, they are also brilliant, and this song is perfect for this movie.

  • I can only bring myself to watch this movie once ! Its so majorly depressing to watch :((( It really hits the core of your soul this movie.... bloody brilliant though. And I have to say Rammsteins songs are simply brilliant as well.... perfect song for this movie.

  • @Maariee Lilya does not live in Russia, she is definitely from post soviet union republic, but not Russia. It is one of the Baltic republics, which is part of European union right now. It never says the name of the country, but I would assume it is Estonia, since the currency they used in the movie was krone.

  • @dusyad yeah I know, I just haven't changed the description since I uploaded it but I'll do it know.

  • @Maarie Actually she's from Lithuania, was born in Telsiai and lived in Kaunas. Because it was true story, girls name was changed in the movie

  • @hipertenzia1989 I'll change in the description.

  • @dusyad I say, it definitely NOT from the Baltic states, it is not spoken russian there..

  • @erikah87 it is from Estonia, the director at least Estonian, and the movie is in russian because it was oriented mostly to russian market, where it act succeeded.

  • @dusyad The director is Swedish.

  • @dusyad The director is Lukas Moodysson and the film is from Sweden. It's about a young russian girl, Lilja, coming to Malmö in Sweden... she kills herself jumping from a bridge in Malmö, It's a movie about trafficking

  • @Isismusicnow Sorry i know it is a little late to response, but.. Yes, the movie is filmed by a Swedish director. The movie mostly takes part in a small Estonian city. The family is Russian; therefore, the girl is Russian. The movie is in Russian, and that's my first language, so I watched it couple of times in original without subtitles; hence, I DO know the plot and the idea behind it. But thanks for info anyways.

  • @dusyad

Yes, the film was filmed in the town Paldiski in Estonia.

  • @dusyad I think it's Esthonia too

  • @dusyad it's Lithuania :)

  • @dusyad she was from lithuania. i saw the documentary movie

  • @dusyad most of the film takes place in sweden.

  • @antemanhejsan2 Well i have seen the movie couple of times, and can totally say that not the most of the movies is in sweden, only a part of it. And if you look at the plot of the movie it is not the most important part of it.

  • @dusyad Wow thanks for this information, I didn't know this. :)

  • @dusyad That's not Estonia, she was from Lithuania. Her true name was "Danguole". She borned in city "Telsiai" but growed up in "Kaunas" Died 16 years old.

  • @farewell565 Dude noone is talking about the real person. There are millions of examples like that BUT the move was filmed in Estonia. The plot is in Estonia. If you spoke russian you would probably know.

  • @dusyad I'm not dude ;D

  • @dusyad The movie was filmed in the town of Paldiski in Estonia.

  • Of God!!!Such a great film,,,Oh,,,how moodysson made this film!!I lived every second of that!!,,,HOw she recreat that story!!Welldone Lucas,,Your movie reminded our responsibility to us again!Thank You

  • I love this girl

  • Mothers! Where are your daughers now? Love and protect your children!

  • i feel ashame that people do nothing to stop this sort of bussnies.

  • dont do enything? pfft i dont have words for you right now

  • Comment removed

  • its really cold. Especially the scene in the beginning while her friend is taking her to a club. and her friend is going to bed with a man for money and when they go home her father caughts her with the money. Then she blame's lilya for the thing she did.

  • meat for metal..

i mean these man abuse and use girls.. and with the money they make.. they buy cars??! wtf.. a car has no feelings.. a girl has! how can you do that man.. they so cold.. and they come with smiles.. so girls plz.. dont give your hart away to fast! wait till a man show hes true karakter..

  • I feel like shit. Do you think if I would create a charity for similar kinds in Russia, would anyone in USA care to help? Any suggestions how to create it? Thank you!

  • I would help.

  • @kosmosleha I'd help too, even though I'm in the UAE...

  • a very, very depressing movie =((

and the most depressing thing is, that you know that such storys happen every day in this fucking world

  • i think this is the most scary movie i have ever seen. so sad..

  • Lukas Moodysson is one hell of a director.

  • There seems to be some confusion - so I'll try to explain. The girl is Russian but living in Estonia. The place where she lives is apparently a poor Russian community within Estonia.

  • Yeah, a lot of the scenes are places not far from where I live in Tallinn. Kind of irritating when people just group all those "Eastern European places" together and call it "Russia".

  • Just make non-russian Europe from it. By yourself. Very simply.

  • 1:32 motherfucker!!! these people shall dieeeee!!!

  • Any online site where I can watch this movie? Not sure if the video stores here have it.

  • very beuaty film.how is the name of nice song?

  • Rammstein - Mein Herz brennt

  • beauty.. dont u mean human trafficking

  • The subject matter is far less than beautiful. But the film itself is absolutely beautiful.

  • this is a sad sad movie! saw it today

  • the city is Paldinski,Estonia

  • I have a pretty "hard stomach", but I felt sick, just for beeing human, when I first saw this film...

    ....why!?

  • This film is why we as men should never use prostitutes cos this is the reality of these girls situation.

  • @maxorx Well said, couldn't agree more!

  • @maxorx

Because all prostitutes are forced into the profession, kept prisoners and taken advantage of, they're all kidnapped and brutally raped. That's a tad simplistic, no?

  • @maxorx ja....but western whores are just real whores...they are just sexually mad

  • why the hell in every single summary of this movie made in English there is that Lilja lives in Russia? it isn't Russia for God's sake, it's Estonia! Ever heard about it? It's the separate country, you know? Not part of Russia, not city in Russia, not Russia at all.

  • You are right. The movie is situated after collapse of the USRR and Lilja live in Estonia.

  • I thought she lived in Lithuania? :S

  • Well, the movie is made in estonia YES. But she's supposted to be from russia and the movie sets in russia

  • not russia, estonia,i know it cuz i saw the estonian money in a movie ;)

  • todesstrafe für menschenhändler

  • "What have we done to the world

    Look what we've done..."

  • veeeerrrrry sad movie:'(

  • very good movie...need more international recognition

  • so saaad movie :´(

  • Musiken är bra! RAMMSTEIN ÄGER!

  • i went to the movie and watched this film at the premiere! i could´nt stop crying. everyone should watch this movie. and if your not from sweden, look for it with subtitles! thank you for posting this.

    lilja 4-ever

  • You would probably need subtitles anyway even if you were from Sweden. Cause they speak alot of russian in it.

  • Yeah, the only Swedish you can hear is the woman at the H&M store saying thank you and the old man in the apartment who wants to know what she did "in school today".

  • This movie made me feel like shit. But I think everyone should watch it. Very very realistic feel and downright disturbing. Best movie I've seen in a long time.

  • I saw this movie two years ago and I fell in love... It's so honest, so raw, so real. It's my all time favorite movie.

  • i know that feeling, saw it maybe 5-6 years ago and it has been haunting me ever since, the movie and lilja

  • This is a film from which the blood freezing in veined and when the tears appear in the eyes!!!

This happens millions of children around the world every day...Song harsh reality is a great fit...this can not leave anybody indifferent!

People would be more attention paid to the need and love their children!!!

  • For those who haven't seen this movie, I strongly recommend you to watch it. You get so touched. I can't describe it.

Just the thought of that it's girls that lives like this almost makes me hurt and sad.

I wish i could do something about it... I really do. But what?

  • Amazing movie... hit me hard

  • great movie and a great song as well...

    lilja lived a nightmare indeed....

  • i love this movie! LILjA 4EVER!!! <3

  • Lilya 4 f%king ever!!!

  • I've never seen such a strong, sad but good film. Very shocking, i couldn't watch it again because of its stunning, sad reality. But everybody should have seen it! And keep it in mind when you see prostitutes!

  • everyone sould watch this move, "Lilja 4-ever" . It shows the reality of prostitution in sweden and europe. the movie have 12 wins and eleven nominations in different awardshows. lukas moodysson, the writer and director, have done an awsome job with this movie. it really touch your heart !!

  • As long as children

    are allowed to suffer,

there is no true love in this world.

  • Yes yes people

THIS IS THE KIND OF WORLD YOU ARE LIVING IN!

  • true

  • really very sad movie, I saw it twice and twice crying in the end. rammstein made a very good song for it, but I from middle Europe (Slovakia) know that this movie just reflects a cruel reality we people do not want to see, I see it often but just after watching this movie I asked myself on my fckin` ignorance... kill`em all child abusers, kill the rapers, revive the humanity, help everybody you can and maybe the mankind will get better. otherwise kill the ignorants and IT WILL!

  • this movie was based on Danguole's Rasalaite's real life. She lived in Lithuania, she was my classmate.. It's terrible to know, that this story happened to somebody you know

  • its so sad :/

  • This is them most horrible movie I've ever seen. No horror movie, not even "Hostel" is this increadably hard to watch

  • One of my favourite films. I couldn't stop crying after I saw it. =[

  • It is one of the hardest movies i've ever seen, although there's no blood or zombies or saws...

It's about the real life.. and THAT is the real horror!!!

  • Strong movie.

  • Ignorance is bliss. I live in Estonia (this movie was filmed there) and I can tell you this could happen anyone in anywhere.

This movie portrays perfectly the life of Estonian suburban areas after the collapse of soviet union in 1990-1999. After the soviet union the most of Russians living in Estonia lost their jobs because they can't speak Estonian language and they didn't expect that all to happen. They don't want to move in to the Russia too because the life is more worse in there.

  • And therefore the most of them got only 2 choices: become a criminal or sell their body.

  • Hardest movie i've ever seen! Yet its so important to make people aware of the problem.

  • i can't believe, finally i found this film!!!i've been looking for it so long.....amazing film, showing a sad and raw truth no one wants to see and everyone pretend there is not and pretend being blind in front of that.....

  • where where you looking for this film? in black market lol? i mean if you google search for a torrent u will find many torrents in second, or u can even watch it directly from google videos... so cant imaging how where u "looking" for it...

  • .....i meant looking for it cause i watched it and i didn't know what was the title.... before saying things you even didn't know and saying wrong and stupid things at least ask how things really are before saying idiot things please....

  • S-H-O-C-K-I-N-G

  • This film hit me very HARD!! :(

  • Everyone should see this movie. I am a 32 year old, happy and strong guy in control of my emotions. But this masterpiece touched me like nothing else I've ever experienced. The whole audience was in shock during the end credits. The silence was only broken by the sound of some people crying.

As far from escapism you can get. Go see it. But be prepared. If you have a heart you will feel bad after seeing it. Very bad.

I wish I never saw it. But I give it 10 out of 10.

  • So true

  • i have seen this movie. it s real life

  • it is here, now... dont look away...

  • this is how its really in Russia?

  • Well, this movie takes place in the Estonian town of Paldiski. But yes, in many rural Russian towns and cities, the collapse of the Soviet Union bought an immense amount of poverty. Life sucks there. Period. I guess times got a little bit better since the default ended. But life still sucks there!

  • It's certainly not as horrific. I guess if you'd film the poorest people in a ghetto somewhere in America, you could also portray a very depressing picture of the entire country. Lilja's home is in Paldiski, although it has improved quite a lot over the years, it's still the most depressing town in the country filled with only Russian immigrants. This movie told a story about one ugly story, but that doesn't mean the entire country 'sucks' as you put it. I like it here anyway.

  • It's horrific. Suburban Russia is a shithole. There is no doubt. I have relatives there. It sucks. There is no opportunity there, everything fell apart. They were poor even during the USSR, but they got their shipments of food, but now, nothing. These are not just isolated ghettos, this is pretty much everything in Russia except Moscow, St. Petersburg, and a select few regions.

  • I was commenting about Estonia before, not Russia. Because this movie was party filmed over here.

And I'm aware how Russians live outside of booming regions such Moscow and St.Petersburg and it's sad really.

  • Yes, I'm sorry, I guess you misunderstood me. Estonia really is not much of a shithole except a few isolated areas. I was referring to how most Russian towns are like Paldiski. The Baltics never really were a part of the USSR, their character was always much different.

  • Does anyone know what mein herz brennt means?

  • My heart burns.

  • My heart (is) burning.

  • the girl does not live in russia.she lived in estonia just when it got free from russia...there are many russians in estonia ,500 000 of them....and it was in the city called Narva-it's the closest city to Russia.

  • Bye the way, i live in ex-USSR country, and I know this reality. Thank you for your comments to the film. I don`t know how else to open the eyes of the world on such problems as Human Traffic, specially in the ex-USSR countries. May be one of you, who has seen the movie will try to help, when you see may be on the street or in supermarket a girl with "screaming for help" eyes... Just do first step and may be you will save her life.

    From USSR with love

    j/k

  • The best statement!!!!!!!!!!!!
