  • actually its believed that xingyiquan came from shaolin as a military style for the chinese army, but for the most part its daoist so i imagine the shaolin version would be different. by the way the daoist xin yi is more popular the shaolin version.

  • wait i thought shin yi was a wudan pai style, is it both? where did it originate from?

  • very good!

  • doesn't look like xin yi ba(shaolin's xin yi), Henan Xin Yi Quan, Dai Xin Yi Quan, Shanxi Xing Yi Quan, nor Hebei Xing Yi Quan...

Just looks like Shaolin, especially with the shaolin trademark stance with head block up and leg block down on the other side.

  • the only xingyi or xinyi from shaolin is xinyiba .

  • it wasn't xingyiquan. The one of biggest three internal art.

it wasn't xinyiquan. The original xingyiquan practice by Muslims.

it wasn't even xinyiba. The xinyiquan that was passed over to shaolin when the creator of xinyiquan visited the temple.

  • Shaolin bu dong xing yi quan :p

  • they look to have very strong legs!

  • nice form but too short

  • xin yi made wushu hate it

  • it had movements of form changhuxinyimen. (constant protection of the heart-mind gate)

  • You mean this is a qigong done by the shaolin monks today, interesting.

  • nice amitofo

  • um this isnt really xingyiquan, my friend.

  • Yes, right this is the Shaolin Xing Yi Quan not the rare daoist one. The name is just the same...

  • the characters say xinyiquan, xin means heart, its not xing.

    heart and mind boxing.

  • Yes this is true, the ping yin was wrong. Thank you for this note.

  • @sourceofyoungforest This IS original old Shaolin Xin Yi Quan, 心意六合拳, The Xing Yi Quan has nothing to do with Daoist. It is originated from Shaolin. I have been studying Xing Yi Quan (master of my grandmaster called it 心意六合拳,) twenty years and because I interested about the history and theory of style, I made a research in Song Shan Shaolin Temple, with 31.generation monks.

  • @sourceofyoungforest Ji Long Feng studied Shaolin Xin Yi liu He Quan in Shaolin temple 15 years, then he created his style. He taught two students, Dai Long Bang and Ma Xue Li. Old Dai style and Henan Ma Xue Li are old Xin Yi styles and in Dai family and Ma Xue Li's genealogy in Henan was preserved in old form. Dai's disciple Li Luo neng (Li Lao Nong) rebuilt the style and with his diciple Che Yi Zhai found many new forms and sparring forms.

  • @sourceofyoungforest continue- Dai's disciple Li Luo neng (Li Lao Nong) rebuilt the style and with his diciple Che Yi Zhai found many new forms and sparring forms. They called it STILL Xin Yi Liu He Quan. The XinG Yi Quan (形意拳) name was founded by Guo Yun Shen and this name become popular. Roots of the Xing Yi Quan has nothing to do with Wudang and Daoist, it was taken to Wudang by Sun Lu Tang and Li Jing Li in 20th century.
