@pinkkizzez120 hey girl! basically some oils actually benefit the hair and kind of get absorbed into the hair like maybe olive oil. Other oils like mineral oil tend to coat the strands of hair causing moisture to lock in (and dry out) oils like mineral oil also prevents other things from penetrating into the hair. So basically to answer your question as long as the oil you are putting in the mixture can be absorbed into your hair then the oil you put in after wont defeat the purpose..

My suggestion would be to make a small batch of your homemade goodies, and use it in your hair to see how it responds. If your hair doesn't like the mix, it will tell you :D hth

In her leave-in recipe, she said that ANY creamy leave-in will be fine. I know that she's been asked this question before, and she said that she's not interested in changing the formula that she uses for her hair, but to try out your own recipe and see how it works for you and let us all know. hth! :)

I LOVE the new accessories! I wanted to know if you ever had any issues in the winter with your nape rubbing on your coats, scarves hats. My nape has been my problem area since forever and have been cautious of wearing wool, cotton etc because i get soo much damage from it. Do you have any issues with that area? what do you do to protect that area? Love the weekly updates by the way.

well i'm going on my third year of being natural and this winter is killing me. i want to have protective styles and the one you had was really nice with the bump in the front and the rest of the hair is tucked but my front edges are starting to break more with other protective styles. i've always been kinda bald there but i want to avoid that as much as possible this winter. any ideas?

I love bettyskitchen, she has so many interesting recipies. I partially agree with you about the hair question. I've been natural for 15 years and my hair seemed looser at BSL length than TWA length, but I always thought and remember reading that it was due to gravity. Sounds silly, but as hair grows longer gravity has a greater effect on it pulling it down which gives the appearance of a slightly looser curl. It looks looser, but has a tendency to mat more. IDK. I'VE SEEN IT! I loved "A Wink and A Smile". I love the way the women were diverse but all still had some longing to do burlesque which was an empowerment for them. I love that scarf you wear at the end of this video (it ties, with the knitted flower). I thought that that scarf was a part of your luv naturals infinity scarf line. Is that incorrect? I love that scarf and I'd buy many like that. I'm sure other gals would too. If it's not a part of your line then I'd strongly consider it.

well i'm going on my third year of being natural and this winter is killing me. i want to have protective styles and the one you had was really nice with the bump in the front and the rest of the hair is tucked but my front edges are starting to break more with other protective styles. i've always been kinda bald there but i want to avoid that as much as possible this winter. any ideas?

hope no one takes offense to this... but the moments when you are just talking to us are much better than the obviously scripted moments. i know the script is necessary but just continue with that conversational tone. it feels more comfortable for me as a viewer and it seems it is for you as well. dont be afraid of a few mess ups. we know you're only human. and u can always edit them out! lol...
anyways... keep doing what you do. you're doing an awesome job!

Love this episode... I just found out about the Burlesque movie the night before I watched this episode and it's so cool that you chose a complimentary movie pick... Can't wait to watch it.
Also, I wanted to let you know that you inspired me to cook something delicious for my Eid holiday dinner last night. I love bettyskitchen, she has so many interesting recipies. I partially agree with you about the hair question. I've been natural for 15 years and my hair seemed looser at BSL length than TWA length, but I always thought and remember reading that it was due to gravity. Sounds silly, but as hair grows longer gravity has a greater effect on it pulling it down which gives the appearance of a slightly looser curl. It looks looser, but has a tendency to mat more. IDK. I'VE SEEN IT! I loved "A Wink and A Smile". I love the way the women were diverse but all still had some longing to do burlesque which was an empowerment for them. Kudos to the lady who was in her 50's and in great shape. I'm a luscious (plus size) woman myself and watching all the ladies with different body types helped me. I hope some of the other viewers enjoy this movie as much as I did. Be Blessed.
