Not necessarily the captain's fault, if you look right at the beginning you can see the bridge is coming down. A ship like that probably takes the best part of 6 cables to crash stop even at that speed and if someone decides to lower a bridge onto it there isnt anything the captain or crew could do but get off the bridge!!
