Right on about evolving cultures. Just because something was ok and "traditional" a long time ago doesn't mean it's acceptable now. Twenty-six fishermen in Taiji give whole town bad name. It's true we are killing off the competition for the fish in the ocean. Too many people in the world. 6.8 Billion people. 70% of world's population relies on ocean-fish as source of protein in diet.

As for me, no do matter of this problem. It is the rest and there is a doubt.

Is the dolphin lovely?

Eyes are pigs. The mouth is a bird's mouth. However, teeth have grown thickly.

It is a heat insulation animal though it is features like the fish.

The hair has grown in the whole body.

I think that the dolphin is a terrible, yucky living thing.

By the way, the dolphin is described in east Asia, "Pig in the sea".

@atmark666 that doesn't really justify your comments. japan has beef teriyaki. this guy was a dolphin trainer who is highly respecting the sea mammals. dolphin has personality and they were not breed to feed humans. it'd be nice to leave them alone. they aren't pests.

I am not sure if he is able to speak a word of Japanese to be able to ask 100 people in Tokyo, or to understand the town of Taiji. In fact, Taiji prides itself in long history of whaling.

US/Mexico fishing industry also kills dolphins, so this old man is simply pointless. Having said that, pigs and cows are "not terrorized for 40 hours" because they do not have freedom to begin with. This man does not even say what kind of "test" he used to identify mercury in dolphin meat or if he is trained to do such a test. There is no report of someone dying of dolphin meat (or dolphins themselves died of mercury).

but why are over 20.000 dolphins brutaly killed each year? Try to see my point of view. I don't hate Japan, I hate what only some japanese people are doing. But it seems that in Japan none ist doing something against the slaughter of dolphins, whales or the overfishing of the oceans. Its not the animals who killed the fish, its the human race which makes it. Also Japan ist the number one meat importing country. Try to import vegetables. Its not hard to be vegan.

Oh yeah! This guy is full of shit! Nothing he said was true! Everyone in Japan knows that there is a high amount of mercury in the meat. The goverment is pleged to inform the population of this! People know this, so they dont eat dolphin meat every day! And that works out just fine!

Everytime I ask someone to point me towards studies proving there is a high amount of mercury in the dolphins and whales Japan eats, they are always silent.

Do these studies really exist or are they made up?

I live in Europe and I eat whale meat and I don´t give a shit if there is mercury in it. No one in the history of man has ever died from Mercury poisoning and if I do.. well shit.. I will be in the history books!

It´s a win / win situation, eat whale meat or get myself a place in histroy ;)
