Funny thing is I started playing Age of Empires in 98 with the Expansion pack. So I've never in my life heard this track despite playing Age of Empires, not even pirated, for 13 years.

It isn't even included in the original game if you got the Gold Edition...

I got Age of Kings (gold edition) for my eighth birthday. It was wonderful. It sparked my interest in history, why I want a Ph.D. in military history (with my area of expertise being medieval weapons and tactics). A little over a month and a half later, I got this game and Rise of Rome. On Saturday, I will celebrate having owned this game for eight years.

Best way to cure extreme boredom: Create a large custom map and place as many enemy units on it as possible. Then create a town center on one edge of the map. Start testing out the scenario. Time the phrases "big daddy" and "photon man" several times. Gather the group and attack! I guarantee you'll love the result.

this was the second game I ever played, after playing Doom with my dad on his old laptop when I was 4 or something xD. I played them all. AoE II was my favourite, followed by AoE. didn't really like number 3 or mythology. Timeless game. I'll never forget it.

@Miryr Haha I'll give you that one. The single player was very disappointing in AOE3, they went for that lame Fountain of Youth stuff, and the levels themselves were not very fun. Too bad when so many interesting historical events happened like the Seven Years War, American Revolutionary Wars, and Napoleonic Wars.

@qystein Even this game is not enough to change my opinion on history. I am just not interested in it. I have a facetious saying to not learning about the past = repeating it: "if it repeats, atleast it'll happen now instead of before". Not very good at choosing words there but the point stands well enough.

And yes, history repeats it self, but for every time it repeats it self, it leaves something out. So eventually you/we learn enough from history to stop repeating the bad things!

In 6000-5000BC the god Hygieia ( Hygea-latin) told people to wash up, but we stopped... And then in 450BC "Lex Regia" a roman law said people had to wash, but we stopped... and so on, trough history, but now? Will you stop?
