The cops that were in that cell should be in prison and the rest of them that got together in that hallway...should be called to testify, and if they didn't have the right story to back up the evidence, should be brought up on charges, obstruction of justice, tampering with evidence, perjury if need be. They should all be fired. The one's in the cell, should be charged with assault with a deadly weapon, rape, sodomy, gang activity.. God bless America.. Coverup and all.

@RezViper I don't know why the quality of the tape is so bad, but it's exactly as I got it from the state BCI.

YouTube shrinks the videos down too small to see the time marks, but at full size you can see that on at least one video they don't make sense. Two people are in the hall, and then they vanish, but the time marks ONLY move ONE SECOND! There would have been NO WAY for those two people to vacate that hallway in just one second.

But then a LOT of video is "missing" in this case! LoL

@Zemo999 I haven't read through the comment here but it looks as if, between this tape and the other one from inside the cell, there are major differences... the one from inside the cell is, at the very least, not complete as it ends with the African American LEO being the last one out, yet in this video he appears to come out into the hall and around the 5:02 mark and at the 5:18 mark he's standing on the left next to the fat guy in the white shirt all the way to the end of this vid.

In NC this would be considered 1st degree rape do to the individuals conducting this action are armed. Second degree rape would be rape without the use of weapons. This lady had no reason to be arrested thus the charge of resisting something that is done illegal cannot be imposed. You cannot be arrested unless a crime has been committed and if you resist then it is self defense from kidnapping people! She was kidnapped at the barrel of a gun and raped. I found your vid through a web search, trying to find the outcome of this case. From what I understand, the case was settled out of court? Also, the officers involved were not reprimanded??

IMO, (in the very least), they should have lost their jobs!

The whole "investigation" was a joke, the investigators took all the evidence that the Sheriff supplied them, & rubber stamped it as fact.

ANYTHING that disputes that they have tried to seal up using the grand jury as an excuse.

The Sheriff has ALWAYS tried to sell this as a crazy drunk woman.

But there are a couple of problems with that, for one, witnesses said she was not that drunk, if at all

And for another, the cops, AFTER THE SHIFT CHANGE, in their OWN TESTIMONY to the BCI claim that Steffey had NO odor or signs of being drunk!

So 1 1/2 hrs after she's stripped, and the new shift comes in there is NO sign that she is QUOTE "under the influence of alcohol at all".

Bet you never heard that one on the news.

Actually if you look at the news video's I have posted you will see that a retired police trainer, a news legal analyst, and a former prosecutor in one news video condemns these officers.

And in another news video the current head of a training facility in Ohio condemns/questions these officers actions.

Plus as I stated before the next shift in the jail ALSO testified in Steffey's favor, and did NOT go along with the other shifts excuses/alibi's

UPDATE I called & talked to the BCI state prosecutor Paul Scarsella 614-644-0729.

I asked if they had ever inspected this 'magic' camera to see WHY it failed.

Or if it had ever failed before, or after this incident.

ANSWER: NO

This has to make me wonder if they did ANY REAL investigating into this case. Or if they just went in and checked the sheriff's paperwork to make sure he had enough to cover his butt.

(Of course they'd have to accept a lot of LIES too.)

that was to the other tape in holding cell, as for video scrambling seen on tape. that is electronic interferance created by some electromagnetic object. i am usually with cops a majority of the time . but this a total disregard for the arresty and very suspicious coincidense's. with evidence tampering. if what the officer's claim is true then all party's should be interveiwed by internal affairs to coroberate their claims. and censuring officers till investigation is closed

They claimed that the camera failed to record it all, by the sarge had no idea WHY. And evidently they had no intention of even find out WHY it didn't record. EXCEPT that their BCI report makes mention of the portion of the tape they claimed DIDN'T exist!

I have made a FOIA request for that tape.

You're again forming conclusions based on assumptions. It would be simple for her to look down, realize she wasn't recording, and hit record. Or for that matter, she may not have PLANNED to hit record until she got to the cell. There are many possibilities but you are so focused on manipulation you refuse to re-think your assumptions. I already have a copy of the BCI report.

The Sargent that was recording says she THOUGHT the camera was on the whole time, and that she has NO IDEA WHY it did not record the WHOLE thing.

Also in the BCI report, the investigator references this MISSING part of the video, like she had seen it. (HER WORDS)

I also contacted the sheriff's dept on May 5th and they ALSO confirmed that the video would soon be released.

But 2 weeks later its "missing"

Her lack of recording doesn't prove they're hiding something. The tape itself can be examined to see if it was erased or just not recorded in the first place. That's what BCI is for. LoL according to their own report the BCI did NOT go get the video evidence, it was provided by the sheriff's dept.

So HOW would they EVER prove tampering, they never saw the originals?

I'm just saying this video by itself isn't enough. There are two sides to every story and this video is slanted. For example there's a guard with a camera. The viewer is lit. This video _ASSUMES_ she was recording and someone is hiding the video. She could have just been walking to the cell where she had planned to start recording. The viewer just means the camera is on, not that it's recording. Instead of looking at the facts by themselves someone is trying to manipulate things.

I have the BCI report that says the Sergeant that was taping has no idea why the camera didnt tape the whole thing, that she thought it had. (So the camera was going.)

I have asked for any inspection that explains why the camera failed.

BUT THEN, JUST as they force Steffey to the bunk to strip her, it starts working again.

But you can see the blue mat, so you know that she is naked from the time it comes out in the hall. But the cops continue to hand outside the door, because even though they video the door being locked, they immediately unlock it again, and some of them re-enter her cell.

We can't compare with the one inside the cell because the time is not recorded, humm! but we can see this video start with the Steffeys clothes already on the floor outside the cell.
