  • what scale

  • classic lol trying to stop it and instead you make it go faster done that a few times!!!

  • didnt we see the stack train earliar in the film

  • LOVE the golf course at 1:05 wonderfull layout!!! And that big derailment... we've ALL been there!! hahaha! :-)

  • why is it moving in reverse?

  • Nice video, I think I may stay the winter in Spokane, check it out. I lived in Kennewick for 6 months, nice but just a little too small for me. I live in San Diego and might move or at least split my time between here and somewhere else. Can someone clue me in on the comments I keep hearing about Spokane along the lines of "very trashy" "Spokompton" "loaded with homeless" "filled with meth-heads", is it that bad or just people exaggerating ( I honestly do not know and have not made judgements).

  • what scale is that?

  • Oh my

  • great layout there

  • great video!

  • Always amazes me how fast those BNSF crews can clean up a derailment! LOL, you guys have a really nice layout there.

  • nice. is it ho scale

  • Comment removed

  • thats was awsome he is new 5*.

  • Sweet layout. I'm in the NMRA Tidewater Division and this is one impresive hobby. And the modules are comming along just fine. I recently refurbuished a lift bridge for handicaps. I have a video of my UP. coal running through it. Keep up the good work and be like little kids with this hobby haha. Cheers!

  • very nice...)

  • Thanks

  • i love thoes 3 GN units

  • :-) I forget who's they were.

  • Where does the club meet in Spokane? I live in CDA and would love to check it out sometime.

  • They meet in the old U-City Mall out in the valley. Their on the back side of the building just under the ramp to go up to the roof top parking lot. Send me a personal message and I will give you the contact info.

  • AWESOME LAYOUT

  • Its a club layout, mine is a UP layout (Undecorated Plywood) with BNSF power!

  • Sorry about the other message you left. I removed it on accedent. No these GN units are someone else's. This is a club layout and it was owned by one of the members.

  • if you can derail a train by making it go faster instead of stoping....all i have to say is fail

  • cool layout how much did all of that cost to buy and build?

  • Did Chris buy the beers after?

  • man i have to disassemble my layout tommorow :( oh well ill start it back up once im retired or something..in like 50 years lol

  • Well that sucks. I sold all my trains when I was 16 years old and got a car. I was 19 before I repurchased everything I sold, I like trains too much. I think once it is in your blood it never leaves :-) hope you find yourself back to your models sooner than 50 years.

  • your railroad as hell as beautiful!

  • nicel layout what did you use for the terrain?

  • amazing layout

  • lol there should have been a crew man with a walky talky to say ok ok ok thats good...thats good! THATS GOOD!!! WHOA!!!!!WHOA!!!!! STOP!!!!!!! BOOM! lol

  • LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!!!:D

  • nice

  • what make r those GN Gp9s??

  • there GP20s and they are Proto 2000

  • the funniest thing here is that guy who instantly responses 'youtube!!!'

  • what the fuck??

  • Thank You all for your comments to my derailment last July 4th.The 3 GN GP-20's were not damaged, nor was the reefer car consist or their contents (thank you)The caboose suffered a broken handgrab that has since been repaired..The layout is of a modular design that each club member has designed and built with his own money..is standardized wiring..to integrate with the other moduales connected in series to form a decent sized layout at minimum expense to individuals of the club.

  • smooth 1 i ve done that 2 many times lol

  • cool layout that must have cost over a $1000!

  • Did any HO scale people get hurt?

  • Cool accident. happens to all of us....

  • Its NEWS 5:00 @ the hour, we have breaking news today, a freight train derails as a routine pickup at the train yard soon turned disastrous when the train accelerated and struck a line of rolling stock causing it to jump the tracks. The cause of the malfunction is still under investigation by officials. Luckily, nobody was injured in this incident. Sarah back to you.

  • nice news cast!

  • Thanks, and that's an awesome layout you got there.

  • i don't get it

  • You didn't watch the whole video did ya?

  • haha nice one....

  • wow thz is kool

  • ahaha! i hear oh my god! and youtube!

  • This is an awsome layout i love it.The engine lashup of great northern also looks great. Hopefully nothing was broke during the egineer mistakes. But oh well it all happens to us sumtime!!

  • wesolint makes good vids!

  • Yes, GN ran GP 7&9 long hood forward, as with all their 1st generation diesel hood units.

  • cool layout

  • Heh, this from a 19 year old kid who's sole favourited video is about lighting one's 'gas' with a lighter.

  • The above was a reply to ryandcrazyboy BTW.

  • LOL

Listen to the guy with the camera when it crashes. It sounds like he thinks it is an actual real catastrophe.

    Really fun video to watch!

  • lol "youtube!"

  • Is this as expensive as it looks

    great hobbie

  • Looks like a lot of fun. Beautiful layout- I can only imagine the work (and MONEY) that went into building it. Great video (don't worry Chris, I'm sure you'll get better!).

  • Really nice! Good work!

  • Wow...Nice Layout...!!! My hats of to you... By the way, the negative comments by you mindless, talentless brain dead idiots with out a creative or original thought among all of you need you fucking asses kicked video and put on you-tube...LOL...

  • yep

  • ummm.....dude, I'm no video game guru, but i do believe thats a model railroad........Dumb-ass!

  • READ PREVIOUS COMMENT IDIOT!!!!!

  • @Stevebacca was there ANY indication that it wasn't a model railroad?

  • nice

  • Put it into R for RACE!!!

  • great video and layout. please be sure to watch my cab ride video clips on the W, W, & F Ry in Alna Maine. The clips are inside the steam engine, and I am the firemen. The W, W, & F Ry is a great place to visit, especially since each year, the track is extended more and more. We know have 2.3 miles of track restored.

    Joe

  • YOUTUBE LOL!

  • Pull the tapes and call Hulchers

  • how many bogies were there

  • I don't know neither of these were my trains, I was just down there filming.

  • I don't know if they did that or not. I was just filming, I model the BN/BNSF.

  • very nice video. just curious as to who makes those GP20s. I've been trying to find some in HO...

  • Atlas I believe

  • Sorry I was wrong about these engines being Atlas, they are Proto2000 units. I went down there last Friday and asked about them and they are P2000 by Walthers. They are in the new book they sent out in the mail for September and I think the Undecorated ones were on sale for a good price.

  • Love the video. Gotta ask though. What sound unit our you running? Soundtrax?

  • Atlas model with sound

  • Sorry I was wrong they are Proto 2000 by Walthers. The came sound equipped.

  • cool derailment!!!LOL

  • lol u tube!

  • Railroading at its best!! That was a hell of a derailment.

  • I will let the local club know. I wish they had a web site for others to see it and ask questions.

  • wow nice layout

  • glad you guys enjoyed my wipeout prior to leaving the yard. glad no one was injured or killed, the poor hack in the crummy was a bit shaken but not stirred. the engineer got a one week suspention and took of fishing. he informed us at u news that he has been reprimanded, scolded, reassigned, retrained and promoted to passenger engineer on the new empire builder. see you trackside soon...flangefrog

  • youtube needs to allow for longer notes in here.

  • lol

  • PS My coal drag last night went on the ground at the same double slip switch I recorded last week. I had gone through it about 3 times and then, CRASH, DPU on the rear sent the cars up over the hill and made a mess. I sometimes wish HO used air brake so it would send your train into emergency, I hate going on the ground. I only got pictures, no video so I was way bummed out, all that and for nothing ;-)

  • ...the downside to DPU ops. Funny, it happened on a double slip, this is where I have had most derailments, especially when running a DPU. Must be in Murphy's law somewhere...

  • My Intermountain wheels and wesolint proto 2000 wheels have no problems but everything else will go on the ground. Track plan was very wisely chosen for the early days of the club. With longer equipment most people use the new yard on the other side of the layout, it's double ended. Not from a prototype.

  • It is creative but it needs to be about a foot wider. The curves are just way too sharp for newer type longer cars and engines. Other than that its great, middle track alows you to can change the direction of your train.

  • Too sharp? Just before the ladders? The turnouts? The lead tracks don't look that sharp. Perhaps you could equalize the the radius? We have a wye on our club layout, that has 25" radius, and no problems with longer cars, or locos.

  • Spectacular derailment! That is a neat track arrangement to the yard. Is that modeled after a prototype, or just a creative track plan?

  • s-it happens lol

  • It happens

  • n00b engineer eh? LMAO I have had those moments while talking i totally forget my train is running then it derails...

  • sorry bout that,my ua came back clean, must have been one of my brain fart episodes where i thought the throttle was actually the tv remote, and i was escaping a katie currick news cast on CBS.FLANGEFROG

  • You did really well untill you forgot what you were doing and crashed. Poor brakeman in the caboose, may he rest in peace.

Had fun filming your GN train on the layout. Until we meet again,

    Ross

  • Thanks for trashing my good name! LOL

  • You have a good name, they must not know you like I do. Had a blast railfanning today witcha, can't wait to see the footage.
