  • The Beachboys are a Great inspiration to the Omegaversal ™ Company

  • yup, its german...kinda like a german version of In My Room....and as usual, translations don't work for songs

  • I hadn't heard the B.B. version before. Thanks for sharing it.

  • Rock On, Brian!

  • Thanks Colindominy...

I've been trying to dig up background info on this song to no avail. They must've recut the song as County Fair and released that instead of this. Nothing on the net about this song. First heard it here. Really grew on me. I'm gonna record it!

  • It is, indeed, from In My Room. The interpretation of "ganz alein" is "entirely alone" which is apparently how they opted to translate it over when they did the German version of it.

  • They're singing ganz allein. Type in "In my Room German" to hear the German version it's from.

  • I meant to say, at the very end of the song after the long silence... they're singing "God's alive...." and in English.

  • I believe what they're singing (in repeat) is just "God's Alive...."

  • what can I say, that others haven't? the beach boys were the best, and in my heart they will stay.

  • just google this song. there is nothing. i dont understand this.

  • Quizças algun dia te cases conmigo Luisina Bossel o quizas no. Y no hay quizas de que siempre te voy a amar.

  • this rocks

  • the beach boys did a german version of "in my room"........the last few seconds of this record are taken from that..............

  • Another B Wilson masterpiece! Can listen to this endlessly and never tire of it. To my knowledge, I Do was never released in the 60s - too bad.

  • THANKS!! is also my favourite song from the BBs!! is one of my grlfriend & i "relation song"...really is from the "shut down vol.II album", probably a bonus from "surfer girl" album...BBs changed my life...

  • This song's stunning ...

  • Very good one!

  • A fan of the BBs for almost 45 years...and I have never heard this cool song! Gotta love You Tube.

  • This Song Is AMAZING!!! <3

  • @MrDennyman amazing - it's an extra on one of the twofers (-:

  • nice.. can som1 send me it plz!?

  • i believe it's a bonus track on their surfer girl (or similar vintage) album. hit up itunes

  • My Favorite Slow-ish Beach Boys Song! SO LOVELY! and well i just Love Carl!<3

  • hahaha at the end there is a german sentence,, Ganz allein" that means ,,alone" lol crazy wow they are able to sing ,,german words" just great!!!

  • One of the guys looks like Ted Kennedy.

  • Hey , wonderful song!! AMazing!! can't stop to listen it! please , does someone can send me? I can't find it !

  • such a pretty song!!! :D

  • Some crazy harmonies. Only the mind of a genius could mix such a complicated fusion of sound....truly amazing.

  • Yep, it sure sounds like the basic background laydown of the "County Fair" song. Only far more depth and that famous BW extra, more sophisticated FLAIR to THIS production. This song really grows on me, the more I listen to. LOVE IT! Thanks !!

  • This is what "County Fair" might've sounded like the first time around, if they had had a bigger budget to work with on the 1st album. This production would appear to be heavily influenced by Dusty Springfield's "Stay Awhile" which was a big hit in the UK around this time.

  • The part at the end is, as people have already indicated from the German version of 'In My Room' However, "Ganz Allein" in the literal translation means "Completely Alone"

    Danke schoen fuer Deine zeit.

    Bis Bald!!!

  • This I would of bought on a 45! Nice tune and a bit Phil Spector tone...Brian Wilson in Torrington CT July 16th at the Warner..gonna get tix, on sale tomorrow May 30th at 10am!

  • Greatest American Band

  • totally playing this on my wedding day

  • Brian gave this song to The Castells

  • Brian wrote and produced this song for another act (can't rememebr the name) and also recorded it with the Beach Boys, as heard here. It was officially released on the Surfer girl/Shut down vol.2-twofer. The german "In my room"-part is a hidden track on the cd. The complete version is also to be found on there...

  • same beat as Country Fair

  • I'm gonna have this song played at my wedding, can't wait :D

  • Was I was able to do, was edit out the German tag in the end with my computer. So I have the song by itself.

Musicians:If you want the chords to the song, let me know

    Paula Angel

  • After the silence is their recording of "In My Room" in German -the only (known to me) BB tune recorded in another language until Kokomo decades later.

  • Was it brian that Looned-out for a while? i saw a documentary on one of them, and he was like a drooling Zombie

  • Brian Wilson has been plagued by mental illness from a young age, but it was the various drug cocktails given to him by his therapist Eugene Landy in the 80's that have impaired his speech and memory. He didn't loon out.

  • OK, the 'tag' after the silence is actually a different song altogether. It's an end from a GERMAN version of 'In My Room'

  • Mike is trying to cut down the glare...!!!

    (8^b

  • The beginning of the first, & second verse are so similar to The B.B.'s "County Fair" song. To wit..."This time each year in our home town, the county fair comes our way...where the folks gather round to be happy, & spend their day..." "Well I soon decided that I'd take with me, the most specialist girl I knew, I had her pack us a lunch, & then down the dirt road we flew..."

  • you are correct!!! my Beach Boys friend! :-)

  • love this song, thanks 4 posting;)

  • i love this song. ima dedicate it to my future wife.

ps. the ending is weird but not enough to ruin the song.

  • This is a gorgeous song! Is it from any particular album? Thanks so much for posting - Jimbo

  • ummmm well i bought this song off of itunes but anyways the album it was in was Sufer Girl/Shut Down, vol. 2

  • recorded around the release of Surfer Girl but not released until the Two-Fer CDs came out.

  • A nice and rare one to put up on youtube. Thanks for posting. Great pics too!

  • great song. great video...keep up the good work.

  • Great song and a bad selection of hats by Mike Love.

  • lol i know

  • @DaddyBog ML was a bad selection in the first place... but what could BW do? He was "family". LOL

  • @alienhuman In what was he a "bad selection"? He was a great singer and a key part of the BBs' early success.

  • @jonchapple You have every right to voice your opinion. I just happen to disagree with you.

  • @alienhuman And that's democracy, kids!

  • Brian recorded "I Do" with The Castells - released on a single in March 1964.

  • absolutely in my top 5 beach boys songs- i've heard a stack o tracks version, a version sung in a realy "corny" style- all brilliant. Unreleased at the time, brian probably feared a gun-wielding phil spector hunting him down- and rightly so!

  • An OK song but a great collection of Beach Boys photos!

Yup - In My Room in German.
