  • the idea of getting all Americans better healthcare is not the problem, the problem is how it is put into action and the details. the Obama administration should really take a closer look at the system other countries have and make a fitting system based on the US people. I know, no American even trusts in it, but I urge everyone to calm down and really take a closer look into this, it doesnt take 1 day or 4 years, but it takes many more years to complete and be perfected. Give that time!

  • There is NO SUCH THING as free healthcare, people. Wake up. Why should the tax payers pay for those who don't want to go out and earn a good living so they can buy their own healthcare? Socialism has NEVER worked and it NEVER WILL WORK.

  • THANK YOU!!!!

Obamas so called "Universal Health Care system" caused my parents HMO to drop them like a hot potato because they were "high risk" even though theyre health has improved, Now my dad, who has a serious heart condition gets to go to the VA. OBAMA IS WALKING SESS POOL OF SOCIALIST IDEALS, IF CANADAS HEALTH CARE WAS WORTH A SQUAT, PEOPLE WOULD GO TO CANADA TO GET HEALTH CARE, AS APPOSED TO THE OTHER WAY AROUND.

  • I think your being ignorant, you say people should go earn a good living what if they can't physically, or mentally? My friend thats why. Plus some people just dont have the luck to find good jobs or afford to go to college, just because someone like you has life going well for him, and sees it well in the future doens't mean people are lucky enough to have that same kind of lifestyle if they wanted it or not.

  • Luck has nothing to do with finding a good job or getting into college, FruitLoop. It's that attitude that makes people think they need to depend on the government for everything in the first place. You get ahead by working hard and seeking out opportunity, not waiting for "luck" to bring it to you.

Also, we already have programs in place for those who are TRULY disabled. We don't need more.

Finally, don't act like you know how well my life is going, OK? And it's "you're," not "your."

  • So many interesed parties who dont want to pay for their own healthcare but rather have someone else pay for it or coerce others to give it to t hem.

  • This is an amazing and impressive idea, so intellengent, I just love this and Obama too, spend it on the American people baby! We are gonna make it.

  • Oh, good. We can also use virtual dollars to pay for them. In case you haven't noticed, USA lacks trillions of dollars just to pay for today.

It's amazing the number of people who have a lot of time to live in the virtual world while those of us in the real world pay for it.

  • Are there going to be any further events like this on Second Life? If so, where can I find information about them? Thanks!

  • Hi Queen Quill and any other interested party. Please drop a notecard inworld to Siri Vita to get on the list for future community discussion group. Thanks!

  • wow...great video...am from Spain, an overseas worker from the Philippines... no insurance at all but my SSS covered all my expenses when i was operated from my myoma. My brother in Texas was amazed on Spain´s healthcare, he said surely i had the best coverage...no private insurace but just my SSS...the Spanish government takes care of us...before they said even vitamins are covered but now it was stopped but still the best for me...ALL FREE. God bless Pres Obama and viva España!

  • Wonderful work indeed and well delivered :-)

  • Really great Drax! Congrats! --Chimera Cosmos

  • I'm so glad to finally have a President that is not only trying to fix things, but who is doing so using new technology and engaging the community (the true new media)!

  • Great video Drax! Yet another wonderful way to use SL. I think it's great that people can have their voices heard by using a virtual platform.

  • As always, Drax -- entertaining and substantive. I think that 2009 is going to be the year that SL finally comes into focus and finds a real identity. It is what you have been demonstrating through your excellent work, a really fun way for people to get together in a virtual space to discuss and collaborate on important rl issues.

  • awesome! This truly shows (both in content and presentation) the amazing mashups of RL and SL that are possible. Thanks!

  • Great story and great example of how to use these virtual platforms for citizen engagement. Thanks, Drax.

  • I just got the email from Siri, watched this, and as it finished my son piped up - "Would you send me that?" Next he said, "Why are you smiling?" Bravo, Drax & Siri, bravo!

  • Superb work Drax. I continue to look forward to and enjoy your excellent, unbiased and accurate reportage of the truly pioneering work people are doing using virtual worlds.

  • Fantastic job, Draxtor. I'm glad that your voice rises to show the platform that Second Life offers for all sorts of projects, especially those that involve raising awareness and encouraging multiculture collaboration. Excellent!!

  • While German news media are busy ridiculing Second Life as a useless game for sociopathic geeks who engage in cartoonish sex (displaying an embarrassing ignorance towards the virtual worlds business landscape), the new US government and endless universities, organisations and companies worldwide use the platform for important work like education, research or citizen engagement like this healthcare discussion. Thank you for documenting this side of virtual worlds in your outstanding video reports

  • Drax

As usual, you have done an outstanding job with this video. Nice coverage of the meeting.

  • Real people, real issues, real help, real voices. It's great to see folks taking up virtual worlds and using what some might see as a fantasy as a place to meet and do real work in healthcare.

Thanks for providing a window so others may see the opportunity.

  • Screw healthcare, let's just find a way to transport ourselves into the virtual universe. Mucheesier!
