  • gerber SUCKS! you want quality, get letherman!

  • mmmmmm

  • mmmm

  • Another great thing about the lighter is, if you can't flick the last flame, you can hold down the gas tab, and spray the fluid and / or fumes onto a tissue and set a spark to it, you need to take the metal cap off and the wheel underneath the flame adjuster but works great. much more versatile then a bic!

  • Awesome kit :)

  • you forgot a satellite phone

  • nice, thanks

  • Who cares about nail clippers theres something else you can use that you dont even have to pack: TEETH

  • @chainsaw0308 Nailclippers has a way lower risk of giving you a horrible infection when removing long nails..

  • did anybody else notice he spent about 45 seconds describing a cheap lighter?

  • lmao

  • One tip...At any Home Depot you can buy a collapsable varmit trap. These traps can handle a grown racoon or possum...good eats. They fold up flat and I strap mine to my alice-pack frame...very lite (2lbs.). Set it at bed, and you will have breakfast 90% of the time. They work awesome!! To kill the mighty beast...take it down to the water supply,- deeper than the cage of course, and let teh little fucker have a swim. Count to 4minutes and season to taste! Or you have portable fresh meat! G-Luck!

  • Nice try using the rule of 3s on my channel

  • Great stuff in your pack. How about next time using a tripod

  • i dont know if any one else has this problem but in paracord crafting stuff i have found cheapy lighters cant run for long, i have had the flame gaurd get so hot that the entire ignition mechanizm flies off. for this reason i would suggest fighting with the bic. idk personal preferance

  • u almost said to sharpen shit lol

  • hi you a great survival kit maker ever thought of trying to make you own business out of these survival kits but there are a few questions i would like to ask 1. do you know the name of that camp spoon as that is very compact aswell as efficient? 2. what did you say the name of that razor blade is as most razor blades that people put in there survival kits are the ones without handles?

    Thanks m8 great vid.

  • Shaky booser vid & a lousy audio!

  • i dont bout u guys but when i make a survival capsule im putting a gun in it fuck makin traps man they take to much time

  • In australia we call the camp spoon a F.R.E.D. It stands for fucking retarded eating device.

  • No i-pad....?

  • This is freaking awesome

  • the nail clippers are also really good for extracting thorns

  • really good kit you have but i think its too heavy

  • call that mini

  • cara você é brasileiro não é ? então porque não coloca legenda em portugues ?

  • the wtaer purification tablets are obsolete.the military doesnt use them anymore. you would be better off with a few filters of a water catch bag and a tin cup to boil in. iodine tablets can cause major health problems. ditch the tape its dead weight. it wont do you anygood as soon as it gets wet. some bungee cords would be a great idea a couple of survival knives ditch the razor blades they are to dangerous to fool with. ill make a vid of mine so we can compare

  • Most of teh stuff you have is useless and your missing some really important things. such as 25 feet of good rope, tent stakes i prefer the metal ones that come with pup tents, a small single man hammock, you could lose all the fighter starter stuff for just a couple magnesium starter kits, you realy need to include some basic first aid wont survuve long with an infection. You could also do for a much ebtter compass you cant travel with those. you also need to include a map of teh local area.

  • I used to like gerber till fake ass bear grills bought them

  • looks like the shit i keep in my JUNK pile

  • a heavy duty rubber band lol

  • Nobody is Going to See a single LED key chain Flashlight, a mile away.

  • thats not a survival kit thats gear for an extended camping trip. way too bulky for survival kit sorry

  • does this kit come with an american flag?

  • Fishing gear belongs in an extended stay kit or on a planned fishing trip. I know we all think about crash landing in a remote part of the world and needing to eat something after a few weeks so we better have a fish hook just in case we are near a great fishing lake and the fish are biting... not likely. PLEASE Help Me Spread The Message... NO FISH HOOKS! The life you save may be your own... learn to make a fish trap. Okay, I've done my part. Good luck! Nice job.

  • beware of the cheapo lighters. they usually have half-flints and run out before the fuel does.

  • Not saying this to be mean, but shelter is actually number one in importance. You can go 3 weeks without food, and 3 days without water, but extreme exposure to cold or sun can lay you to waste in 3 hours. That is how I built my kit. 1. Shelter and fire 2. Water 3. First aid and last 4. Food.

But all you need as a cheap tarp and you are good to go. And a tarp and basic first aid are small so can fit in this kit.

  • Websters

  • CRAP... again, a lot of unnecessary shit.

  • VERY NICE KIT!!!!!:)

  • when the heck are u gana use a bottle opener?

  • @2127brandon cans and bottles...obviously

  • sure it is magnesium

    or a ferro rod ?

  • Can I ad for a suggestion for ur fire starting kit to add some ranger bands. They rly helped me to start a fire...a lot

  • Upgrade your maglight to an LED my reccomendation if you want to stay at penlight size is a Preon 2.

If your willing to go up another size *still a easy enough clip carry and use the C123A AKA surefire batteries then the TA 21 is worlds apart in performance from a maglight.

  • @ViolentKisses87 the best brand of torches if u want to see heaps better then mag lites are led lensers

  • what about a fixed blade?

  • 4:08 - DOG CRAP ON THE FLOOR. .. NEXT TO THE BOOK SHELF. DUDE CLEAN THAT UP.. MAYBE THE TRASH ON THE FLOOR TOO.

  • Why the matches? I have to agree with M40 on this one, you could pack 2 more lighters in the space for all those matches...

  • @MegaDuke1 Point made but in colder weather lighters can freeze.

Its less likely to happen in your pocket because of body heat but in a pouch like that it had greater odds of being useless in cold weather.

  • Camera wobble nullifies the otherwise excellent video contents. Get a tripod!

  • Don't waste your time with the 5 C'S video....really

  • check out my 5 C's of survival video....

  • Comment removed

  • @TheCybergopher

The 5 C's are five complete wastes of your time. The author is afraid of constructive critism as well.

  • trade that folding junk for a good fixed blade. much more dependable.

  • insteaD of using the krct m16 knife u should look for the gerber evo......looks just the same, very dependable and has an msrp opf just about 10-20 dollars(depends on what state u live in)

  • Get a white Bic. As an ex-smoker, I cant tell you how often those cheapo lighters fail.

  • Great vid lots of informatin well done.

  • I've never seen anyone mention bait for the fishing kits. A small can of salmon eggs is perfect. The containers are no bigger than a jar of lip balm and the eggs are suspended in a solution that extends shelf life for months. What good is a fishing kit (or any hunting kit for that matter) without bait? I know that in theory there are worms, bugs, etc all around but even under the best conditions, catching fish is not always easy. The salmon eggs would increase chances of success by at least 50%

  • You might want to add 1 or 2 mouse traps, great for catching small game. Nice vid, thanks.

  • You should try a bk11 instead of a folding blade

  • Nice vid

  • thumbs up if u saw the word guns in this video :D

  • WERE CAN U GET THOS THINGS????

  • Tell me more about the lighter.

Your camera don't have macro focus so if you did edit the footage you must have noticed the bad focus when you placed the items on the lense.

Awsome kit though, have taken some good tips from this video..cheers mate.

P.S. ...i see the tripod on the floor that you should ave used...

  • were can i get the storm matches

  • i have a emergancy shelter when i go backpacking it is litraly string and foil try and find one there realy good

  • I would like to make a suggestion about your fishing kit, I know the knife your talking about because I had one keyword "had" because I got a Ka-Bar anyway the line thye use in those kits has a shelf life and its not a long one so put some better string in there or else your gonna be real disappointed when you get osmehting on your line.

  • nice vid got a few more ideas for mine thanks

  • i have the same coghlans whistle magnifying c\glass but mine doesn't have a mirror did it come like that or is it custom ?

  • u think thats mini

  • u should put superglue in yhere cuz that can seal sum wounds

  • this kit kicked ass!!!! looking forward to more vids

  • kool thanks

  • wherd u get the multi toll the wistle

  • @spongermax123 Got that at Dicks Sporting Goods for about $6.

  • A Tampon would go great in your fire section, so you have tinder. All those ways to light fire, with no way of starting it right, could be useless. Wet weather etc..

  • @bennyboyshaw Agreed back when I made that kit some 3 odd years ago that didn't ever cross my mind. All my kits now have Tinder Quick firestarters amongst others.

  • @superheroideal Char cloth is propably the best thing to have with your strikers, Also, Being a smoker myself, I have to question your choice of lighter...I break those things all the time Bic is much strudier.

  • @superheroideal a better idea told by an experienced camper: dryer lint. Makes perfect sense since the lint is so dry that it's highly flammable. He sometimes dips his in cooking grease and stores it in a watertight plastic cylinder. And the best part: it's free.

  • dang thats not a surviel kit thats a build a sky scraper kit...

  • Good survival kit,

and btw thank you for blinding me while shining the light in the camera. [:

  • @Xpain0in0myheadX Thanks, and your welcome. Anytime you need a blinding blast of light know Im here lol.

  • @superheroideal LMBO!!!

  • get a bic it never fails and if you need it as a candle it won´t melt. just ask any feener.

  • Great video!!!!

    AmericanSurvival101 dot com

  • a small one for each auto

never know when you might be stranded and the need will arise

better to have and not need than to need and not have

    peace :)

  • Cool survival kit!!!

  • if i was you i would change out the fishing line monofiliment can break down over time . i added the 90lb. spyder wire braided line it great multi use stuff you can even sew with it or make snares.

  • nice vid sum good stuff u got there but u use a zippo coz they dond break very easily nd u can carry spare petrol in a small bottle and they last for ages.

  • nice vid sum good stuff u got there

  • nice vid sum good stuff u got there

  • You know? there are KIT already made and sold everywhere by company such as Adventure Medical, etc. Then, you can modify them by adding few things and DONE. Its MUCH faster and cheaper than trying to think and put them all together. Besides, I do not think we need to really follow now getting popular TREND going on in the USA. Its fun tho,.... but I feel that is about it.

  • @urkingod Oh I do know, but those companys don't know me is the problem. No commerical company knows your strengths or weakenesses. Making a custom kit will cost more and take more time. But it has more ability and fits YOUR needs, not the needs of what a company thinks you need. I do actually have the Doug Ritter Pocket Survival Kit, but I sorted it into other kits. I have been making kits for 17 YEARS now. I know what works for me because of that, NOT because a company TELLS me it will.

  • @superheroideal weaknesses*

  • @superheroideal But they are professional. They know what we need. We are not professional. But of course we can modify what they provide after we purchase from them, I think its much faster and cheaper that way. I know if you prepared it yourself, you can spend a lot of time and money, why bother? Well, that is how I felt when I saw many kit that were available already out there.

  • are those cat turds on the floor??

  • @FrankJL7781 I HAVE BEEN WAITING OVER A YEAR FOR SOMEONE TO ASK ABOUT THAT. No, its actually dried mud that formed in the tread of my boot I knocked out a few days befor. My dog crapped in the bathroom when I was filming a different vid and noticed after I posted this one how much the two "mounds" looked alike. Didn't think anyone would really notice. Good eye though lol.

  • if ur gonna have nailclippers u might as well have a small toothbrush and a wee bag of salt. nothing boosts morale like gettin rid of that boiled ass taste outa ur mouth

  • need as wmd you know for selfprotecton

lke the ones the couldnt find in iraq

  • shut up 15MrBlue

  • @15MrBlue lol yes, nail clippers or small scissors is a must. I don't know why others omit this. I disagree tho, he has way to much stuff. The only thing i would replace is a real cooking pot instead of the foil and a fix blade knife. Stashing stuff inside the pot make up for the extra space versus aluminum foil. ★★★★☆

  • Where did you get that little spoon/ bottle opener/ can opener? Looks very useful!!!

  • @4770589 I got it at K-Mart. I believe that it is made by Colemans, I got 2 for 1.99.

  • Great job! Do not worry that is has taken a while. Kits are every evolving. Mine has never been the same, always changing.

  • thats an awsome kit but its not small really is it....

  • @Airrifle2 It was about the size of 3 decks of cards stacked. Not too small but fit in a cargo pocket very easily or attatched to a belt and not too bulky. You can see the pouch I used for it in the 2nd part of this vid at the end.

  • use an emergency blanket for a quick shelter.you can buy them at walmart for around 2 bucks a piece

  • @97sniper Read the video description. I do carry a "survival" blanket but not those horribly shitty ones Wal Mart carries. If thats all you can afford then by all means go ahead and use that, but for about 6 bucks you can get a Adventure Medical Kits Heat Sheets blanket made from good polycarbonate vs mylar which is piss poor by comparison. The reason the AMK blanket is not in the video is because it was too bulky to fit the bag so I just carry aside.

  • get a potable terminator

  • i noticed the books on guns and karate...what do you do for a living

  • @moozadell actually in school right now for digital multimedia. have thought about law enforcement though.

  • I tried lighting one of teh cheapy lighters in windy conditions. It didn't work well. A neighbor lent me his bic lighter. It worked much better.

  • FYI- of all the great items you showed us, you spent WAYYY too much time on the nail clipper! Otherwise a good video.

  • I love that knife where can you get it?

  • @treehouseman2 I got this at Wal Mart about a year ago. Its the CRKT M16 10kZ. I don't know if Wal Mart carries it anymore you could probably find them online. I have seen similar knives at REI but not at the same price. The one I have was about $20 if I remember right. The ones I seen at REI are about $40 (I think) but they have larger blades. Hope I helped any other questions please ask.

  • ive got that gun book

  • @bigc1494 Was a decent book, just way too many .22s.

  • needs more machine guns haha

  • i brought a survival kit with a magnifying lens to boy scout summer camp one year, and almost 3 times a day i had a tick where i could'nt tell if the head was on.

  • I think most poeple have too much redundant equipment in their kits. The kit itself is just backup equipment, you don't need backup on backup.

the usual redundant items are fire making equipment, and knifes. Knifes usually don't fail, you dont need 3 blades!

Also, in a survival situation (little/no food) your nails and beard(if thats a concern) stops growing. nailclippers aren't necessary.

Survival is about finding many uses for what you've got. A nailclipper is very limited.

  • You are gonna so wish you had a bic..don't be a cheap ass..hehe :P

  • how is the led light on the coghlans whitsle?

  • Very bad in my case. It was missing some internal components and didn't include the battery. I don't know if all Coghlans led/whistle combos are that bad, but the one I purchased was poor on the LED light. Everything else about it worked well though.

  • what's the name of the bag where you carry every thing in?

  • I honestly don't recall. I got it at I think K-mart years ago on clearnace.

  • what was the brand of the wissle combo?

  • coghlans, not bad for 5 bucks at Dicks.

  • You may want to add a good fire piston and a sealed bag of charred cloth.I also keep some spare cotton cloth and a small tin for making more charred cloth if needed.even if you don't get a piston the cloth will easily take a spark from a flintsteel and hold an ember really well.

  • i like your yellow paracord though :D

  • my advice: take out that tanto style blade and put in a plain edge clip point. clip points have much more use for camping/survival tasks (cant skin something very well with a tanto!) and the clip point will still pierce very well. also plain edges are easier to sharpen than partial serrated. especially if you lose that nifty little sharpener.

  • Shelter and first aid are pretty much survival with food and water bro.

  • Again,... it is mentioned within the first 35 seconds of the video as well in the comment box that I carry other gear with this kit.

(Which is now defunk and broken up into other kits.) Had a guy comment on this befor...

  • carry a 9volt battery and some steel wool, rub the posts across the steel wool, voila! u got fire.

  • Maybe nice for emergency fire, but I wouldn't trust battery and steel wool for an extended period.

  • Very true. Nice little trick though.

  • well simonwessel, i wouldnt trust a bic lighter for long term either, and I wouldnt wanna wait on rubbing sticks together if it was cold and windy, or match sticks that can get wet or break...nothing is really long term except maybe flint, but good luck clicking that together for an hr, lol, kinda like stick rubbing... i would like quick fire and something noncombustible to carry around..batteries are not long term but for short term, the battery and steel wool is fast and easy.

  • I agree. Bic lighters/matches/battery + steel wool are all nice to have to get a fire going quickly, but are only good for so long. For long term fire making I prefer a firesteel since they're easy to use. I usually have ca 10 fires worth of tinder with me and in that time I'd be able to collect new tinder and make sure it's dry. I consider a firesteel long term fire source, since I'd probably die from starvation before that one runs out :) I always carry a bic lighter as emergency fire.

  • great video. the wire saw is a peice of shit, i would get rid of that if I was you. I use a Gerber folding saw in my kit.

  • Thanks man. The wire saw truely not the greatest piece of gear but works for the most part especially in a kit this size. Since I made this kit I have taken it apart and reworked it. The Gerber saw probably would be too big for a kit this size.

  • sweet ., some thing small that helps .,.

    thanks.,

  • hey no prob may have some more stuff coming up soon ...

  • really good video got alot of ideas from it thanks

  • Thanks man, may have some new stuff coming up soon so check it out later on.

  • wait you said that it covers everything except shelter and first aid?????????????

    are you fucking nuts?

those are the two most important things you need!!!!!!!!!!!

more people get hurt or freeze to death than they do starve or get thirsty!!!!

    stick to the city stupid!!!!!

  • Well seeing as how you did'nt read the description I'd say your pretty young and apparently ignorant ... how old are you kid about 9 or 10??? I carry other gear with me as stated in the description. I even stated that in the first 35 secs. Shelter huh, I guess you've never heard of a debris hut or lean to have you? Aswell the gear carried in there would help in the building of said shelter. Oh well kids like you really don't know about such though. I swear, dumb YANKEE bitch fags like you!!!!

  • USMC special forces ... yeah whatever little kid, if you can't even realize that I address shelter and first aid when I say it in the video and the comment box then I'm sure you could not even make it in the border partol let alone the marines. I told you this in the prior comment and your not even man enough to admit that you were wrong. Yankee jackass, see I called you it again theres nothing you can do about it you little 11 year YANKEE son of a bitch. ..

  • wow 25 yr.s old yep your doing dirt work .,

  • krct? lol! it's crkt! : D

  • Yep screwed that one up big time, was kinda tired when I made and krct just rolls off the tounge as oppose to crkt IMO. Still I fucked up, thanks for pointing it out lol.

  • y do u say reserved so much !?!?!? it is so annoying i want to punch u...JK!

  • reserved, reserved, reserved, reserved, reserved... lol. You honestly brought this to my attention I really didn't know it did this. I guess because there's alot of backup ie reserved gear in the kit. I'll try to cut back on it thought.... RESERVED!

  • KICK ASS KIT LOL that is cool i use an altoids tin but it holds a lot of things

  • Sweet kit 5/5 =)
