  • monte le son;;;

  • What a f**kin riff. Top band and glad to see em back!!

  • I don't know who Wade Barrett is.

  • i like this song

  • best of ALL the albums!!! oasis have never been a patch on Stone Roses.

  • Best song ever , reminds me sat in my mates room lava lamps , multicolourd lamp , getting smashed , THE F***ING BEST!!!!!!!!!

  • Ꭲի౯ ദ౯ގᎢ!

  • the best!

  • wow...blown away.

  • always loved The Stone Roses! hate how people are jumping on the band-wagon now though!

  • @MrJamesMCFC I agree with you, they are. I've been on the Roses bandwagon for 20 years now and won't be getting off it.

  • For me The Second Coming knocks the first album into a cocked hat!

  • @personaljesus101 well said mate people only ever mention the debut to impress.........but they should really listen to the second coming for a proper insight to the roses genius that was...........

  • @2508col well said , i reckon this is their best ,squires guitar on this is on a par with jimmy page.Unfairley panned by critics who were waiting them to fail

  • John Squire the most underatted British Guitarist EVER!!!!

  • Wait for all the fuckers who "BELIEVE NOW" Yeah fuck off you didn't believe in this at the time.... CLASSIC !!!!!

  • awesome guitar work on this album

  • this is the best track on second coming, hope they can bring out some new material thats at this level and the level of their older stuff. Exciting :)

  • John Squire!!

  • oh yes heaton park here we come!

  • amazing track. all squire needs to do now to best out jimmy page as a rock guitar legend is to start f*cking 13 year old groupies.

  • the resurrection = 29/06/12

  • still in Fools Gold shadow; ONE LOVE!!

  • If they release a new record is it going to be called "Third Coming"?

  • @Charko2006 No, more likely it'll be called the "Turd Coming" if this shite offering is anything to go by.

  • @Kenmorfdublin How is this shite? Listen to the fuckin riffs.

  • thumbs up if Wade Barrett sent you here

  • @AnnapolisGhosts haha yeah :D - this is a good song though...

  • @AnnapolisGhosts yeah lol!!!

  • he wants this as his enttrance music!!

  • @AnnapolisGhosts Even though Wade did indeed send me here, I'm gonna have to give you a stern THUMBS DOWN for the simple reason that you are an attention-seeking little bitch.

  • @AnnapolisGhosts Owning The Second Coming sent me here!

  • the third coming ...

  • THEY'RE BACK......I'M THAT EXCITED I COULD PEE!!!!!

  • need to learn guitar for this song and breaking into heaven.

  • One of the most underated albums of all time!

  • big influence on my guitar playing, got this cd from BMG:-) this album was a good one

  • Comment removed

  • This is cool ! especially, Len's dramming is coooool !

  • Yeah baby !

  • This album sits firmly in my top five of all time. Who gives a monkey's what the critics said. Together the boys are brilliant...separate them and....rubbish.

  • what a guitarist.john squire a fucking legend

  • Hopefully the Roses will get back together and do a few more albums.

No reason why not, and they still have all the talent in the world.

Led Zeppelin were together from 68 to 80, Roses from 83 to 95.

Zeppelin only ended with death of Bonham.

No excuse for Roses, as Reni never died, he just walked away.

  • @horse69outside ..... hey you got ya wish mate!!!

  • im a lifetime led zeppelin lover, and this is better than gold.

  • squire is simply amazing on this song!!! hendrix and page were also amazing but some of johns solos on "good times", "breaking into heaven" are the best guitar playing ive ever heard

  • My cat is named Squire because of this song and album. She's now about 13 years old and still as much of a badass as the name deserves.

  • John Squire...the last truly great British guitar hero...currently MIA

  • This is what I call a badass riff!!!!!!!!

  • 0800666 oh yea!!

  • Underated album. Sadly the overhype at the time sunk it. I didn't care. I was happy. What's that guitar effect at the end solo Squire's using?

  • Have you all recently listened to a riff like this one?

John Squire has the guitar soul inside of him.

  • squire u f'kin legend,this lifts the lid before a night out,forever grateful

  • thing is-led zep were only playing what they had in there collection. stone roses best band since 60's , im 24 and know that every 1 has to thank the early blues for everythin R&R , it radiates out man.

  • agree with the zeppelin comments re second coming, but for me thats a positive. i implore roses fans to get into some zeppelin on youtube if they havent already.

    imo zep = best ever

  • this is some freakin awesome guitar

  • ma abso fucking lutely favourite

  • most underrated album ever... this album really changed me... i think stone roses are much better than oasis and blur putted together!!! love this song

  • The problem with this whole album is, that while the first album sounded like four people all playing in perfect, glorious harmony. The second sounded like four people all doing there own thing, then putting it together and calling it a song. So although John's guitar, manis bass, Renis drums and Ians vocals all are great they dont sound or feel great together. Does that make sense?

  • @saneman32 ........never heard so much shite in my life.

  • @leecutty

whooo get you! so how would you explain the dissapointment of the second album?

  • @saneman32 Kind of, but I personally think Second coming is an under rated album. I can see why fans were dissapointed in it, but I still love it big time

  • @monkeytutz2

I love the album too. but you must admit that the cracks that tore them apart do show in the songs

  • @saneman32 They sure do, still a well under rated album.

  • Squire is a beast.

  • 石薔薇で一番かっこいいギター!

  • Hummin.

  • how is he possibly that good on guitar

  • @DDGC08 Sold his soul to the devil maybe? I really wish they would reform. That would be so fucking mint. But it's never going to happen

  • some of the opening guitar riff is Led Zeppelin. Take that back a lot of it is LZ.

  • The Stone Roses at this point were more Ledded than Zeppelin.

  • I only know this band because of this guy I met yesterday. He was kinda weird but the music's good. ^_^

  • for me, this is what the stone roses were all about....my fav. roses song!

  • love driving fast on this song !

  • tttuuuuuunnnneeeeeeee!!!! its amazin how more established Squire has become between two albums guitars rock

  • WTF!!! 5 dislikes.......fucking bet they all want to suck the likes of them cunts jedward off.........what the fuck do people think is music man.........no good bands anymore they are all copycats............get a style and some individualism.............noncebags.....STONE ROSES FOREVER! :)

  • anyone who thinks this album is shite is a MASSIVE BELL END!........instead of flicking through it LISTEN to it all the way through, and ill place my life you will listen to it again an again an again.......AWESOME man...........JOHN SQUIRE "RIFFLORD"

  • The hype at the time sunk an amazing album.

  • classic britsh rock, arrogance and kick ass guitar, what a band,

  • MARKTURVER1990 for PRESIDENT! thank you for uploading!

  • squire kicks the shit outta that les paul

  • John Squire, I bow to you.

  • this is my new ringtone

  • perfect cacophony .. it's Love

  • absolute genius.Agression and cool all in one.Long live the squire, sent to us from above.

  • Classic tune, great riff!

  • john squire legend

  • such a class song.. nothing better.

  • ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATIONのSE!

  • this IS indeed a good song and album to get high to

  • Dug this album out of my loft after putting it there 15/16 years ago after a couple of plays.

Either my aural palate was seriously lacking or, as I suspect, I was swayed at the time by dogshit media critics.

It's fecking brilliant! At the time I thought the Roses couldn't top what had gone before. All these years later, what a dickhead I am.

  • @TheHarecat ..... I know EXACTLY what you mean man.....What an album..

  • J'ADORE DES MUSIQUE!!

  • fett fett fett leider gibt es so was geiles nicht mehr

  • love the improvasition

only guitarist this century who got respect for is the long haired one who used to be in babyshambles,

the new guitarist for them sucked ! but there old jus wasnt afraid to go nuts on guitar

  • You mean Patrick Walden, he's the fucking bomb! absolutely amazing guitarist. His style is no other. he's in this other band/thing?? called big dave. to say their poo is an understatement, but i love the man so i dont want to insult him. wish he'd rejoin Shambles!

  • this album only a fiver in hmv

  • The album is seriously underated. You can get the album for under £5 these days. So all y'all people's who aint got a copy, go out and get one cos you won't be dissapointed.

  • yer u know i got it for £1

  • this album is so good to get stoned to

  • amen brother.

and most things by nirvana or Ocean Colour Scene

  • perfect song.

    perfect band.

  • 'Driving South' is essentially similar to 'Love Speads'- both good songs.

  • You hit the nail bro ! this rocks.

so obscure they don't even play it on the radio rarely if @ all.

  • OOO ! this ROCKS !

I feel like hitting myself in the head with a hammer

  • I remember sitting in me front room in Liverpool spending rolling up three or four, head to the fridge for a few cans then settling down cmfy like spark up and stick this beauty of on album on day after day... by the time the ridiculous intro for Breaking into heaven was finished baked off my tits and all ears ready for the genius.

Just Magical tunes on the second coming there were.... its only problem was it followed their untouchable first album. I love it.

  • 'kin heavy ! what i really like is the guitar never taking a rest...just full on throughout this masterpiece

  • Yes & don't you love the li'l cymbal at the end. Musical Genius !

  • possibly the most underated album of all time.2 dodgy songs on the album maybe, but the rest is solid gold.however, the first album is the best album ever. full stop

  • i fancy this tryp.....

  • fuck off comparing this to led zeppelin, or i'll find you, and make you 76% affraid

  • Now I'm wondering which was the better album?

  • same - second coming's aged very well. an incredible album.

  • hahah this band is dope!!! Searching for driving south by Jimi and found this, glad I did!!!

  • its the stone roses mate!!!!! cant live with out them

  • From the Best British Rock Album of the 90's

  • @DrumnFACE Well c'mon man it's a pretty great album, but the first three Oasis (especially Definitely Maybe)...and Blur's and Screamadelica...I mean this album was very good but hasn't really changed anything at all or innovated anything. Their first one was ABSOLUTELY the Best British Album of the 80's (Actually it's with Def Maybe my favourite album of all time :) )

  • @slowJams88 I'm happy for you

  • Yes, it definitely does sound like Led Zeppelin. Great song.

  • This is a badass song! >;)

  • yes it is. But it is also the song where Squire really makes his guitar sound like this guitarist from another famous rock band - I don't cite the name here... And then again - who cares, it kicks ass. And IB voice makes the difference. Great Music

  • Jon Squire ses hes quiting music to be an artist, and Brown refused the reform from the start... The only reason this album was seen in a bad light was cos of the 5 year gap between it and the debut... and, wen it came out it was at the time wen Oasis, Blur and Pulp wer all stormin british music, so this didnt get the recognistion it deserves... Havin sed tht, Love Spreads off of this album is there highest ranking song in the UK Charts, and this song and Album changed my life, Roses Fo Life :)

  • @spacemunkey3635 "quitting music to be an artist"

    Haha that's great.

  • @spacemunkey3635 Spot on Man!!! Changed mine too Fuck YEAH!! Squires the most underrated guitarist ever. this Record was the absolute DOGS BOLLOKS!! IMHO Blew the rest of BRITISH out of the water ( and dont forget they refused to do any british press other than the Big Issue coz of the Court Shit) Classic Record!!!

  • this is quality stuff, people say they dont like second coming because of ian browns vocals on it compared to the debut album

  • Heard a rumour today that the old line up might be reforming.

    How top would that be?

  • ye man i heard that too, it would be magical :)

  • Apparently Johnny Squire said he'd never go back to being in The Stone Roses :(

  • love the mix of rock and dance - a killer combination!

  • its the squire master on guitar ...underated heroe...mr browns voice an lyrics r just the cherry on the cake...

  • you missed out the unique drumming from reni! And the outstanding bass playing from Mani

  • I like heading down south to Texas and that, nice vibes.

  • Awesome riff. Excellent to drive to.

    Put simply, this track rocks.

  • Great isn't it? And they said that second album was no good!

  • goosebumps everytime.

  • truley the devils music, reminds me of a better time.....oh shit the nostalgia is unbearable, i used to hang out in manchester when this was out

  • Polloch+Led Zeppelin+Hendrix=Squire

    true

  • That riff does what it says its gonna do...twice. pure and simple quality.

  • A fuckin' ace tune.

  • Polloch+Led Zeppelin+Hendrix=Squire

  • Its a good driving song in fact its a great driving album. Nearly 15 years since it was released and its still a good listen.

  • Serious rift on this tune

  • Can anyone hear the Led Zeppelin influence in this tune -- maybe a hint of Moby Dick?

  • fuking sick*

  • this tune fuking rocks and not slating brown but it would of sounded fukinf sixg with some smoky growling blues vocals

  • second coming was awesome. it was just slated because they were still wanting the sound from the first album.

  • Yeah, everyone was expecting that sort of dancey, poppish feel. Instead they got something that THEY thought was derivative.

Derivative? It's miles better than Led Zeppelin!

  • Miles better than Zeppelin, that's worth a good laugh.

  • Those people simply do not like Zepp, Hendrix or other music of that ilk. Their loss!

  • but they'll listen to it if an NME band pays complete homage to them, this song is completely influenced by led zep. its not a band thing, there all great bands and so are stone roses!

  • Still, what a ridiculus waste of talent!

  • what do u mean? that they split up so early? i know, bands or at least certainly bands from the UK don't focus on the music enough any more, its just full string power chord riffs, all downpicked with no guitar solos. bass and drums at a minimum! why all the music i listen to practically predates my birth! (1993)

  • Yes! They had no guts to see it through. Zeppelin did. The Who, The Stones etc.

Too many British bands today too scared of guitar solos for fear of being called'self-indulgent' or a 'muso'. You play an instrument, don't you for Gods' sake! Welcome to new generation too scared to express themselves unless the band is right there with them! No variety, folks!

  • second coming gets better everytime i listen to it

  • Fantastic Track Prob Best On The Album ... Squire's A fuckin Legend Thru' Out!!!!!

  • to right friend. squire is the man. playin guitar like that is phenomenal. manny is doin well too. what a band. best brit band ever (includin the beatles)

  • the best band the uk has produced. by a country mile. they were to good. that good they could'nt handle themselves. far to funky for the world.

  • Amazing! The best guitar riff and the best song after Bittersweet symphony from Verve :-)

  • superb riff yeah

  • my fav stone roses tune just class

  • Elephant Stone "12 version is better

  • Squire is amazing

  • I love the way that ian brown sings this song that directly slags him off withg the lyrics that squire writ.

Despite this, the stone roses are my best band of all time

  • what a fuckin choon

  • GET meeeeeeeeeeee unchmantic

  • squire and mani man fuckin legends

  • you had to be there first time round the beatles, the stones and the kinks in one group superb!

  • Bow to Squire's guitar....

  • Salute!

  • The Stone Roses... the greatest British Band since the Beatles. Reni and Mani could play, Brown could just about sing... but Squire was the genius. I'm 36 now... 18 years after I first heard them nothing can touch them still.

  • Really?

What about Radiohead, Pink Floyd, King Crimson, Joy Division, Kula Shaker, Oasis, Suede, The Smiths, Led Zeppelin, The Clash, The Rolling Stones & Queen? They are as great & fuckin' amazing as The Beatles & The Stone roses.

  • Brilliant
