On every single one of these high school home run derby videos, someone has to hate on them for using metal bats. IDK if you noticed, but the first couple home runs he hit were with wood, so obviously he has power with wood too. And metal bat or not, 500 foot home runs (Talking about harper now) are impressive... No one is impressed by a youtube watcher who says they are just as good.

I wish they would drop the alloy bats from these competition. I know without the aluminum bats they'd only be warning track power. Granite when I played I was a hefty Frank Thomas 6'6" 285-305lbs, depended on what I ate for lunch, so needless to say these kids with their pinger bats couldn't hold my jockstrap when I used my 34" model C271B Louisville Slugger. Yeah, that's all wood baby. I grew up using my wood bats to hit everything from tennis to whiffle to hardball.

yea but that was a half swing as you could see. who knows he may be better when drafted because the coaches will fix his off balance approach but they way he looks now he will K alot and his speed doesn't look great so as of now he looks like a homerun or K type hitter.

if you watch him in BP before the jersey presentation his swing was much more balanced. I mean you're in a home run durby and you're expecting a meatball down the middle. I mean you saw prince fielder's swing in tjhis year's homerun durby.
