  • Te quiero Johnny:::::::::::

  • mr cubicale i feel for you

  • only 79000 views or this masterpiece song while stupid monkeys video has millions??? fu pop media forever. Lydon was always right from rotten!

  • Yeah, now this song is classic, but I'd like to remind, it wasn't in 80s. Many PIL fans despised Warrior for its electro-disco-house beat. Well, almost no one has heard of techno...

  • @johnnytwice

Actually a lot of PiL fans hated every album after "Rise" for the same reason you mentioned. "Happy?", "9" and "That What Is Not" all had the same basic style as this. Personally I loved the change of pace...if you go thru PiL's entire catalogue of music you can easily detect 4 distinct styles (most people say 3, but I give "Flowers of Romance" its own category).

  • @johnnytwice I have to agree with you here, Lydon was to music as the Edsel is to the automotive world, ahead of the times. I remember listening to P.I.L. in the '80's and liking it, but now, in my 30's I dust off the cd's and LP's and listen again, and the music slaps me in the face, almost calling out "dumbass, you listened to me before, but now you are LISTENING to me."

  • I was born after popular music stopped being good

  • I saw the old man at Coachella and I swear this guy hasn't lost a step. He played at the same time as Jay-Z on the main stage. They made PIL wait until Jay-Z started his set before they could start. Lydon then played a staggeringly energetic clean set that I thought blew everyone else away.

  • Lordy..Lordy...back when music was great..inventive..rap and hip hop sucks balls..low class..misss the 80's and 90's..at least the music was inventive...

  • my fav too but i was out of it and dont remember alot!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • What is the year of this song?

  • @grzeds I believe it was 1989. This tour was my first concert whne I was 20 (late bloomer sucks being poor) Tickers were 16.50 at Janus Landing in Tamps. Flesh for Lulu opened for them.

For some reason, I don't remember Flesh for Lulu. My mind was elsewhere :) But I was clear when PiL came out. It was all day-glo colors. Tacky, cheezy and wonderful.

  • @grzeds 1990 :)

  • Hoping they play this in Dublin tonight!! Can't wait

  • This guy is the business.

  • These guys were SO AWESOME live when I saw the in Australia in the 90s - wish they'd reform or John Lydon would make a comeback!

  • Is that Vanilla Ice @ 1:08?

  • WWOOOOWWWW This Is That Song From The Movie Wild Orchid That Didn't Make It To The Soundtrack OOoh I'm Too Happy I Found This!!!!!

  • All anyone needs to know is: never trust anyone who likes techno. ALL techno fans are junkie scum, trust me.

  • @Spankabuttux Yeah, junkie scum...that's me! :P

  • @TheDeadlyDelilah I was well drunk when I wrote that, but I reckon 90 percent of techno fans are cunts. I could be wrong, but I've met a lot of cunts, and I've met a lot of techno fans, and a venn diagram would be virtually a circle. Surely you accept that most techno fans would sell their gran for some smack? Visit Newport.

  • @Spankabuttux Honestly? I HATE techno in general so I wouldn't really know because I never hung around those people.

btw I never thought of PiL as techno!

  • @TheDeadlyDelilah No, Pil aren't remotely techno, I may have been responding to something, but I can't be bothered to look. I'm so lazy.

  • @Spankabuttux lol-getting drunk and being lazy- we DO have something in common!

  • the color is out of this world in this vid! gotta love the late 80's

  • this is my land i never surrender i have the record pipis greece

  • a song of peace with a heart of a fighting warrior! I love you John lydon, your music has so much important meaning!

  • @killforfiend RIGHT ON!!! John Lydon is one of the smartest and most eloquent dudes to boot - I wish he was making music again!

  • @TheDeadlyDelilah PiL is planning to make an album this year!! I saw them in june 2010! Great performance! Lydon still has it!

  • @killforfiend PiL ARE planning, fuck this pathetic new thing of referring to bands as things. I'm fully aware that people self-consciously do it to appear cool, but it is lame. 'The Strokes IS releasing a new album'? No, it's nonsense, stop it NOW.

  • @Spankabuttux I witnessed PiL performing & Thats what their roadie said on stage!

  • @killforfiend This makes me feel so much better, thank you, Fiend.

  • @killforfiend I'm off to play 'Pornography' by The Cure before deciding what to do with my life...

  • @Spankabuttux My favorite one!

  • @killforfiend Whenever l listen to the Pornography album again, I'm amazed I survived adolescence...

  • @Spankabuttux :) its not always easy, I'm glad you overcame the pressures.

  • SEX PISTOLZ .. RULEZ

  • SUPER!!!

  • Love this song!!!

  • This may be one of Lydon's greatest Lyrically, and no guitar solo, just McGeoch's riffing all the way thru and the synth build up and the Chorus of Lydon , Great, Pop-Punk Shamans

  • "the production of this sound is like a blowtorch right in your ears and up your ass..."

  • this song is soo good live! (like the hold band..they are still tight maan!)

  • I think this song works better short like this, although I like the long version too.

  • Now he's a rainbow guy. He changes from color to color. Skittles taste the rainbow.

  • @RayRoark2009 Now ? He always was !!!!

  • Steve Vai on guitar, if I remember right.

  • @keefmicawber its John McGeoch on guitar, played with Siouxsie and the Banshees previously

  • I ride the tiger

    I'll never dismount

    I'm a warrior

    I'll never surrender

  • His version of "eye of the tiger"

  • PiL the people who write the best songs ever

  • I'm 37, I work in a cubicle, my life is boring....and yet.....thanks to Mr. Lydon I can shout at the top of my lungs:

"I'M A WARRIOR!!!!" (followed by awesome keytar refrain)

  • @swalk813 Thanks for the epic lulz there, I totally know how you feel.

  • @swalk813 What a great artist, he is. It's astonishing. Well said.

  • @swalk813 I love you! Lets be friends

  • i really like johnny rottens voice. its great

  • This is Great!!!

  • you can see the british early 90's acid house scene rubbing of on the american rock scene, this vid looks very cose to some of the vids by the shaman

  • what?

  • I love how this song starts off. This song is just great!

  • 2:30 I love that part!

  • This song is on the soundtrack of one of the best Worst Movies Ever, "Wild Orchid", starring Micky Rourke and Carre Otis

  • I ride the Tiger, this is my land and I'll never surrender...crosses are ladders leading to heaven! That is fierce...take note...

  • NEVER SURRENDER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • never thought i'd see johnny rotten and a keytar in the same frame.

  • some very valid comments here... no band could ever come up with a box of energy like Nevermind the Bollocks but PIL is its own thing and quite addictive..

  • This song is a super tune, PIL is really cool .........classicccc

  • damn the riff of this song is so cool is making echoes in my head(god damn john mcgeoch why you have to die) life is unfair =(

  • yes yes yes

  • The Sex Pistols were a flash in the pan. Doomed to die a horrid and spectacular death. PIL is the continuation of Lydon's musical skills. As Rollins band is the life after death of Black Flag.

  • I think that PiL is more johnny.yes the sex pistols are great!! but this is more his thing.

  • i fucking luv public image limited i do slightly prefer the sex pistols only because their music was more angry and heavyer

  • Johnny Lydon is so far ahead of his time, that he's simply in another century.

  • One of the things I've recently figured out is, every time John Lydon came out with ANYTHING different from the Sex Pistols, it was seen as a travesty...a "lower entry"...a "sellout". The thing is, he made HIS music. Whatever HE felt like recording. Isn't that the lesson? That was SUPPOSED to be the lesson the Sex Pistols taught. Just a mere reflection...

  • I think that P.I.L. are better and better than the Sex Pistols, anyway. Sex Pistols wear the swastikas only to be "against". Sex Pistols sang of anarchy and sold their soul to a fashion. They were important for the music history, but Lydon is great in Public Image Ltd., more adult, more mature.

    P.I.L. kicks ass as no-one.

  • Brilliant

  • i´m agree with timepieced, who really understand lydon, he is the best and nina hagen too.

and don´t forget the unique joe strummer.

  • this song in reply to track8fodderstompf is worth 1000 ooooooooooooooooooooooooo veiws i love this god i would love to meet the man himself 1 day

  • Unimaginative over-produced dross. Listen to metal box instead.

  • This is John's REO Speedwagon Period.

  • Wrong...I don't know about all the album tracks, but the singles from Pil circa 85-92 are my favorite Lydon material; This stuff is incredibly imaginative, well-written, and expressive of his aesthetic...Of course small minded hipster critic types don't get it, because they don't see the bigger picture, and that's how Lydon intended it.

  • why are the sex pistols back? i want pil back...

  • My thoughts exactly!

  • prefer the sex pistols

  • How old are you?

Unless you were born i the 60"s you would not understand PIL.,

  • Probably you right. but it is not punk rock

  • I disagree...I was born in the 90's and I love PiL.

Not sure if I "understand" them, but I definitely like them. But who really understands Lydon anyhow?

  • It really doesn't take much effort to dig up Lydon's past. It's quite well documented from both his side and from McLaren's side. Much of what he did with PiL was fallout from, it seems, the American tour, as well as the general crap he had to endure under that hackney prat. There's quite a bit to digest, I reckon, but give it a go and you'll have no worries, son.

Just remember that Lydon was an early manifestation of the rare and elusive IRL troll.

  • I was born in 1989, and I prefer their Metal Box period.

  • Good kid. Joy Division and Can are worth a bash if you like Metal Box. But you probably already know that!

  • I love Joy Division, and I'll definitely give Can a go, thanks mate!

  • Gotta love the tinny, metalic little percussion. So terribly 80's, but these guys make it feel so raw and real instead of poppy and cheap. Amazing stuff!

  • about sums it up for me - love john lydon no bullshit straight at it - live on john :)

  • shut the fuck up! like being controlled? :)

  • wow this is a great song worthy of more than 100,000 views

  • buy yourself a decent lp spinner sit back and go wow!!

  • Wow! Feel it, sing it, repeat it from the beginning, and let it go!

  • LOVE it when bands have the courage to experiment...

  • totally, when i was 15 i hated this because it wasnt never mind the bollocks 2, but now i'm in my 20s & like stuff like the cure, new order etc, and i've come back to PiL and it's kicked me in the balls

  • i am a waaaaaaarrrior!!This is my land.

    I take no prisoners

  • I love this song I love PIL and the sex pistols.

  • That is Johhny Rotten, right?

  • yup

  • Thanks.

  • John Lydon ...one in the same.

  • Beggar's can't be Chooser's shrouds they have no pockets. Some of us wake UP!Others roll over! that is inspiration!

  • love my life love my life love my life

  • I sometimes wonder with John's love for rave, house and other techno music why he didn't explore that genre with PIL other than 'warrior', the greatest hits version that is

  • he was involved in other bands i think...at the very least as a guest singer. i know he did that song with Timezone that was AMAZING.

  • I like the 'greatest hits so far' version but this not bad

  • Just one of the good songs on the end of Lydon's carreer, which I don't like. Warrior Caught me though. Not as fishy as the sing along la-la's with girly backgrounds kitsch. No...or rather: yesss: Warrior is in the end ...a good song, in my musicworld.

  • After `Bad Life` this is my least favourite PiL song. The music sounds like an bad Commodore Amiga game.

  • what do you know about electronic music to say that? it doesnt sound the way you think. you might not like it of course.

  • What??? Of course I dont like it, thats what my comment says! Is that a problem?..Oh and probably alot more than you (refering to yr first `point`).

  • I can understand that you say it's your second best song if you had blow job on this song. That's a good one but there's a lot that are better (20, 30 or 40 !). For example : Public Image (Theme), Flower of Romance, Poptones, Annalisa, Low Life, Careering, Love Song, This is not a love song, The Order of Death, all the songs from "Album" (Rise, Home, etc.), Seattle, etc.

  • shite

  • Some of us wake up

    Others roll over...

    9/11 Truth.

This is OUR land. We'll NEVER surrender.

  • it's interesting you interpret it that way .

i think the peole of iraq could relate to this song a little bit too hey ?

  • yes i remember this time very good artist

  • OOOOOOh I am 61 but this is great. My kind of music beat.

  • Classic.

  • YES! YES! YES!

  • love jonny rotten

    i mean lydon

  • so glad i found this, it's still as good as i remember!!!!!!!
