@TOOMUCHTlME Depends on your controller setup. Like when I'm playing though the GC port, it's L. I think with WiiMote it's Minus. I would suspect the same (Minus) with the Classic Controller.

How do you fare in Dracula X? I think that game was considerably more difficult, despite being a bad port.

@TheChannelOtaku I've beaten it (all endings). It's probably about the same difficulty as Rondo (when playing with Richter), just a bit clumsier with the level design. But in terms of ability to speed run, I'm nowhere near skilled enough to run Castlevania: Dracula X at this point in time.

Just finished the game at 100%, and overall this game is simply briiliant and easily thee' best ClassicVania game there is...Aside from SCIV which is still my favorite by a smidge hehe. Yet if there's one thing I found dissapointing about Rondo of Blood it would have to be the anticlimactic, dull and easy battle against Dracula.....I mean THAT was it!? 2 rehashed forms, and no 3rd?....I mean seriously? Talk about unepic.lol

@921144666 This is the PC-Engine version. The SNES version is a "remake" (and a crappy one at that).  Then the PSP version came many years later and is a true remake of this and also includes a port of the PC-Engine version, though there are some speed issues and crappy subtitles (with spelling errors galore).

Never mind did research....PC version is the first and a more of a beefed up version. But, I am guessing they needed sales...so, they released the SNES version over a year later, which is not so beefed up compared to the PC version. @theblocksays I know. It's weird, given the fact that they added them to the port on the PSP release (Dracula X Chronicles). Though it may be a bit of a blessing, since the subtitles on that release sucked, due to mass amounts of misspellings.

@lightlittlebrownboy Oh it's very much possible. In fact, I actually did it the HARD way. There's a faster reset if you press Run + Item Crash. On the original PC-Engine, it would be have been Run + Select.

This was done on the Wii Virtual Console, which is a port of it, with only the intro audio changed (for the US version). The rest is perfectly identical. You can also do it on the port in the PSP remake The Dracula X Chronicles.

The Wii port only had the opening audio changed to the PSP's version, but that was it.

You obviously haven't done everything then. You need to beat every stage, every boss and save every maiden. Given you're 4% short, you either didn't clear a stage (most likely 5'), didn't beat a boss, or didn't save 2 maidens (since each one is 2% each).

Yeah, the SNES and PC-E/Wii/PSP versions were completely different from each other. The OST is fantastic, but also check out the PSP remake's version too.

Maria also appears in Castlevania Judgment, so she's always putting herself at risk. Heh.
