It's not gonna hurt the motor if its runner for a couple of minutes out of the water.

@watsdissniffinere It's actualy a good idea in a proper surf launch, to make sure it will start first time, you dont wanna have your boat and car already in the water and then find out your having starting issues. A wave over the back of the boat will swamp it (making it heavier) and at the same time can bury your truck to the axles, when you get to the water you want to do this as quickly as possible, with every wave that rolls through your truck will sink more.
