  • A fault has occurred causing a virtual CPU to enter the shutdown state. If this fault had occurred outside of a virtual machine, it would have caused the physical machine to restart. The shutdown state can be reached by incorrectly configuring the virtual machine, a bug in the guest operating system, or a problem in VMware Workstation.Click OK to restart the virtual machine or Cancel to power off the virtual machine.

  • What is that software you are using for screen recording (screen casting)?

  • LOL for people that can't do that HAHA.. wait- mine WM says "error" eww shit (nah kiddin it works) :D

  • It took me like 10 hours to install Mac in VmWare, when i finally decided to install it on my hard drive it took me only 20 minutes. My advice is that you better create an extra partition and install it there, it takes too long with vmware and you cannot do much on it cause it's working very slow

  • This works like a charm!!! Just one thing, my network didnt work at first. Instead of using "Host-only" I used NAT, after that it worked.. even my sound through VMware worked hehe

  • @Divv "Host-only" sets it so that the Host (The physical computer) can only use the internet, so there was nothing wrong with VMWare, you just set it wrong.

  • how come when i finished installing, and it tells me to reboot or restart, i click it and it does restart, but after it boots again, it just brings me back to the page where it says "press any key to install Mac OS X" help someone please):

  • I used the network options: host only, bridged, and NAT and they don't work.

  • Hey great tutorial. It didn't work for me the first 5 times, that's right 5, but eventually it did. My computer's running Windows XP, used this tutorial to get Mac OS X running in Vmware, but in the Mac OS X it doesn't use the internet, I want to be able to use Safari in Vmware but the question is, How? This is a request by the way.

  • Gr8 Job Dude!!

  • It was simple for me. I just burned the ISO to a 4.7 GB Memorex disc using ISO Recorder 3.1 and reinsert into my computer. Opened VMWare, created the virtual machine and did the normal config. Started the VM. Press F8, type in -v, get to the setup do the Disk Utility, and install. Works perfectly now.

  • Well im kinda stuck .. This is the correct file right ( tiger-x86.tar.bz2 ) ?? I tried to change the extension to an .iso file (Also .img ) & open it with magiciso & i get this message .. ( Cant find the file Or file isnt cd image file ) I follow the steps in the video & try & bypass the ( Cant find the file or file isnt cd image file ) By browsing for it when i have the option to do when im installing the virtual machine . & This happens ( No Boot File Received ) @vistauploader

  • wonderful job bro,,,, really appreciate it. i want to try this and want to ask you a question tho, i am downloading this >>>MAC OS X SNOW LEOPARD 10.6.2 (SSE2-SSE3) FOR INTEL AND AMD and i was wondering if this will work.... thanks alot anyways

  • I wonder why my network doesn't work. Perhaps it is not getting an IP. Can anyone help?

  • GREAT JOB maN ....

  • Thanks! Although i am going to install Snow Leopard, this is a great and accurate tutorial. MOST OS X installations are similar! Well done and thank you!

  • Thanx Bro for great Help !

  • I don't have an other.vmx. Why not?

  • thanks man! this works great

  • question from a haters : create E: with deamont tools. vmware says : could not detect which operation system is in this disc.

    ya know what to do?

    peace

  • @hsvhh Yes, I'm getting the same problem, I have the Darwin Snow iso and the installer disc iso

I tried using the installer first, "no operating system found"

and when I try boot from iso "darwinsnow.iso" it comes up with the apple logo for about 1 second then reboots and says no operating system found

    any help is greatly appriciated

  • nice work man thanks for the help and yes f the haters bro ....

  • does your machine have to be intel based?

  • @einaza1 thats called dualboot :P

  • is there any way to get this as a second operative system? like, when you start your computer you can choose wether to start MAC or Windows?

  • @einaza1 I had that working with ubuntu 10.04 and Windows 7 Ultimate

Look into partitioning your drive and dualboot! I've never done it myself :(

  • Where can I download a copy of Tiger?

  • could this work on 32 bit

  • @DestroyedPixels thats what i am doing it on. It runs pretty slow but it works

  • @DestroyedPixels Yes it works:D

  • this is absolutely no substitute for buying a Mac. you need to buy a Mac to get the FULL OSX experience. If you wanna try OSX, go to your nearest Apple Store and try it out there. It may be with booking a personal shopper to demonstrate everything for you. Running OSX on Windows through a Virtual Machine is defeating the whole purpose.

  • @j800r lol u mad? If by purpose you mean, shell out thousands of dollars for Apple branded products, then yes, this is defeating the purpose.

  • @j800r: fu .. i fell into that trap once. my powerbook has been dead for 2 years because the optical was junk, drive went bad... and no way to get a new os reinstalled. this way i can burn a disk to xfer an emergency and hopefully get it running again.. mac is crap... lots and lots of people bitching on google because they cant get their systems running again. you are dumb for recommending people buying their product when they can emulate it.

  • @Paperclown Yes, cause NO other computers go wrong. Let's put it this way. I originally had a top-spec custom built PC at the end of 2008. by the beginning of the following year it was already giving me trouble. Damn thing would keep locking up randomly. I spent near enough 2 years trying to get it fixed with nothing but problems. Finally in August of last year I picked up an iMac (cheapest available with some spare cash from selling my motorcycle and have never looked back since.

  • @j800r My custom PC had gone wrong WAY before now and the iMac is still running as well as the day of purchase. Not a single issue. If your Powerbook had fucked up then why didn't you head into an Apple store or contact support? Apple's customer care is currently among the best around.

  • @j800r: because it was out of warranty.. they only offer one year ? and I wasnt about to shell out $1500 to get the board replaced because $2 fans failed.. which powerbooks are NOTORIOUS for going bad. All i used it for was portability and I can get something off ebay for around $400. I'm not going to argue you about this you are still a kid who is brainwashed from advertising.

  • @Paperclown LMAO! Still a kid?! Oh, that's a good one. I'm 25. I haven't been a "kid" for around 7 years. I am brainwashed by nothing. I spoke merely from my own personal experience. Also, all Macs come with their own recovery discs. One which includes the complete Mac OSX and one which includes iLife. Maybe things WERE bad when you got your Powerbook but I can assure you. This iMac is a very well built decent computer.

  • @j800r: you act like a kid. when you get to the age you have to fork out your own money for hardware it's not as funny any more. you have your system from financial aid from college like many other people did. but those systems out date so fast it's not even funny. and they cannot be upgraded with standard parts off newegg.

  • @Paperclown Boy, you got a lot of balls... You don't know me yet you make an ungodly amount of assuptions. How dare you. FYI, I am 25, have lived alone supporting myself for over 3 years, and fully understand investing unwisely. It is not childish to invest in something that works for you. It is childish to want to be on the bleeding edge of technology constantly and belittle those with a different viewpoint. My old 2008 powerhouse PC was bought with compensation payment and was the worst ...

  • @j800r (cont.) ...investment I made. £1,500 aprox, which is more than this iMac cost, and it fucked up within months. The iMac was bought for £999 which I got from selling my motorcycle (couldn't afford to run it anymore) and is the polar opposite of the PC I bought. Your Powerbook was a bad investment for you, fair enough, but my iMac was the perfect investment for ME. It works for ME. Who cares if you don't like it. It doesn't make me childish for buying what works for ME with MY money.

  • @j800r: ....

who cares. you're not only a kid, you sound like white trash. why do you keep going on about 25 like it's some magical number? Nobody cares that you know how to plug in computer components. I don't give a shit about it, hardware is hardware. If you were bragging about something like a Commodore Amiga computer that is something to be impressed over.

  • @Paperclown What am I "bragging" about? I was merely stating I've had no problems with my system and I couldn't give a shit if you'd had problems with yours. The only thing I've done that could be considered childish is willingly argue with an immature troll who has nothing better to do but throw insults at someone just cause they don't take his word as law. Discussion over. Drop it if you have a life at all. Don't respond.

  • @j800r: no. just no. I was googling last night and there is a large amount of posts about how the powerbook's logic board, fans, display, and optical drives going bad. and how quotes for their $3000 "investment" on their product would cost $1500-$2000 with parts and labor to be serviced.

if a pc goes bad, local shops have standard hardware replacements that are cheap to replace. my system collected dust because i dunno anyone with one who could burn a new recovery / boot disk for me.

  • whats the password?

  • Thanks! gonna try it on my AMD box :) wid vmware 7.0

  • @lordjamito007 "SCEE2 or SCEE 3" You need SSE2 and SSE3 and to be more specific, you need a Core2 Duo just like a real Mac has.

  • @vmelkon I have a motherboard with SCEE4A :P
