There's a fan video being made for Elfquest w/ the creators of Elfquest. Squee! If you look up Stephanie Thorphe Elfquest you'll find lots of links to it. The characters they chose look perfect for the characters.

did you made some changes on it? I remember that the wolves and elves where 'sliding' instead of really walking in the beginning.. Nice to see more movements in it :) Still like the 'pretty sparkles' ;)

I love EQ! But even there'll be a movie, i dont think, that it 'll be at the cinemas in switzerland..

And i prefere reading the comics, so i can imagine the voices myself.

however, EQ is and will ever be the greatest comic i've seen!

I don't think it would cost that much to use Cameron's new mocap technology (definately not as much as it cost to develop). I think it really allowed the characters to shine through in Avatar and seem completely lifelike even as aliens.

BUT OTHERWISE, this is really impressive. the character modelling is really well done, from what I can see. I understand the aim is not well animated, great looking stuff. I just hope that they do better should a 3D version of the film really be made. Also, the desert doesn't feel nearly bright enough.

Great work--lots of effort, but they'll need to do better for a real film. FAR BETTER. Elfquest deserves that.

Yeah, the first time they step into the desert the light should be searing. The viewer knows what a desert looks like, but it should be seen through the eyes of an elf who hasn't seen anything but lush forests. If it's just a yellow sand desert it wouldn't have the same impact. I also imagined the desert in the books as rocky and scorched, not fine sand like Tatooine.

I am torn between profound EQ love and my critique as an animator and 3D artist. FIRST OFF, I understand that this is only an animatic. However, even in my student projects at Digipen, we had to have a decent sense of timing. Most of the animation is all smooth and even, which comes off as lifeless. There is no squash and stretch, no overlapping action, no slow in-slow out, or fast in-fast out. The acting is non-existant, and the look and feel doesn't progress beyond basic blinn shaders.

David Arkenstone would be great for scoring this film. Need a voice actor, hit me up. Halle Berry would be awesome as Leetah, maybe Paul Walker for Cutter, Oliver Platt as Skywise, Lou Diamond Phillips as Rayek....
