  • Groundbreaking music, as all of their stuff was.

  • @weirdscience85 I wish I saw the 80's, I love everything about that decade. I'm 18 and I feel like I'm in the wrong decade. I hate the 200's, the music sucks, tv sucks, and the technology is just eh. send me back to the 80's with some tapes legwarmers and a boombox please!

  • Is it just me, or does David Byrne sound a little like Joe Strummer in certain parts of this song?

  • greeat song!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I always think of "Look Wh's Talking" when I hear this song. :-)

  • Youtube comments are the scum of the earth... On a that note, most people hate hipsters because they think they're better than some people. However. judging by some of these enlightening and educated anti hipster comments, I can see why they think that way.

  • my god 0:03 scared me

  • This video reminds me of the same animation and quality of Peter Gabriels "Sledge-Hammer" video, weird but certainly unique. I miss those days when music was actually music, not this Hip-Hop and Rap BS that has dominated the airwaves. At least they wrote there own stuff and didn't sample it from someone else to call it theirs like pretty much All them rappers and hip-hoppers do anymore, 2011 has no originality.

  • @hubbaman9885 Yeah I love the mid-80s video animations too... I grew up with visuals like that on tv so they stuck with me

  • 11 people weren't.

sorry i had to say that.

  • @LolaLavonda It was just mistaken they hit wrong THUMBS i did that before too, but it was too late to correct it.

By the way great song, classic.

  • Video reminds me of Terry Gilliam

  • thank you david byrne- because of you, there won't be a 'talking heads' reunion tour

  • The song is about L.S.D people! That was known back in the 80's.

  • EPIC SHIT!

  • This song makes me wanna trip out on drugs!

  • Talking Heads videos had some strange videos - strange but, likeable.

  • brilliant

  • @2:50 when the trumpets kick in, this song soars and I go with it.

  • I can see a little Eleanor Rigby in it. And I like it.

  • This song makes me feel extreme nostalgia....

  • love it

  • ahhh this was in look who's talking :)

  • I once had to take a tech support call from a Jerry Harrison (on Radius PowerMac compatibles) who recently got home from touring and I had to ignore who I was probably talking to...but I knew otherwise. Love Talking Heads!

  • Wow...actual talking heads. Rad find.

  • And she was lying in the grass, pooping slyly, trying not to get busted. The odor wafted into my 'strils (that's slang for nostrils) and made me gag a tad (tad is a very small unit of measurement). I didn't want her to feel bad, so I shat (that's a nice way of saying dumped) by pants. Pooped on!

  • I think this song's about trippin'

  • @gtjacobs It is. LOL David knew a girl who used to skip class and do acid.

  • This is a great song. Turn it up listen to the words and feeeeeel it.

  • what up with the feet? foot fetish?

  • trippy

  • that random foot at 0:45 freaks me out

  • @mjamesk1 Some witch lookin feet

  • Best Song In The Whole World, Right NOW!

  • I love this video. There's so much going on, to a great song.

  • This song always reminds me of Look Who's Talking.

  • if Terry Gilliam didn't direct this video than he should sue whomever did.

  • Can you believe that MTV used to play artistic and creative videos like this, what the hell happened, the mainstream medias gone to shit.

  • @whiskeyspray

Simple explanation. Music has taken a shit dive along with people who were once actually musicians.

  • @whiskeyspray mtv is garbage

  • Comment removed

  • @whiskeyspray We're living in a world of extreme narcissism and immediate satisfaction. If the 80s and was a Fast Food Generation, and the Me Generation, right now the youths are the Me-Me-ME Generation. Everything's about immediate satisfaction, and it seems they all have ADD. Even worse, as is the case with narcissists, they can't give credence to anything anyone else says, feels or believes. They need to learn that denial is not a virtue, and ignoring problems doesn't make them go away.

  • There's just something absolutely amazing about this song that I can't really explain. It gives me chills everytime, especially when I listen to it with the music video.

  • I lived it, man.

  • i LOVE this song! 00:00 your new replay button after you break the other one.

  • This is the shit MTV was playing when it was worth watching! The Head rock!!

  • I don't care if they were on anything or what they were on. This song is FANTASTIC

  • Love the guitar...and everything else, of course.

  • To all asking what this tunei s about: I believe its a tribute to, or at least inspired by, Douglas Adams' novel "So long and thanks for the FIsh". His follow up to the "hitchhkers guide to the Galxy" trilogy.

  • THIS VIDEO IS FUKIN CRAZY!

  • I'd say you could look up her dress from down there...but she isn't wearing one.

  • theme song for my lyfe ~ ♥ ~ yea kathynesses ~ ♥ ~

  • It's about a housewife astral projecting.

  • And She Was,,, I was With Her. !!!

  • WHAT THE FUCK IS A HIPSTER???

  • Don't go into analysis-paralysis....., just enjoy.

    Peace...., A

  • Talking Heads had some of the most creative videos. A real highlight of the 80's.

  • fuck you hipster closet queers

  • @zamb0nio damn this closet. it's so sticky from my morbid masturbation while listening to "Neon Bible" repeatedly. :/

  • Tina Weymouth is a classic beauty at 2:00, amazing this video was made mid-80's and she doesn't have typical big hair heavy make up look of that era. She's hot for today or anytime!!

  • Yeah, but ganja doesn't cause the effects that the song describes... floating above the world and taking off your clothes from the heat.

  • 10 ppl never did sid..(^_^)

  • A favorite for ever.

  • Say it just occurred to me, were those stunt legs or real legs. either way I hope no legs were hurt in the making of this video.

  • this song was current on the radio when i was about 7. it appealed to then, as it does now..... how do you do it, Talking Heads? How the hell do you do it? I'm a 33 year old music nerd, and this appeals to me just as much as it did as a child..... how did they do it?!! best band ever, I think.

  • I am very pleased to see that only 10 (ten) people dislike this fabulous song!!!

  • @valnaples those 10 people don't like anything. lol

  • This song brings back a lot of memories!! David Byrne is definitely brilliant. I'd like to know what it's like to think the way he does just for one day!! A thumbs up!! Peace2U, Alex

  • What great cinematography and production on this film -- and what a great song & band....

  • @RichmondSpiritMedium The majority of this is done with still photography, with the exception of a few parts. There is little to no cinematography to it but you could say it has great photography with some awesome editing.

  • The song is about out of body travel experience...

  • Can someone tell me what style of animation this video is?

  • This is not drug music, people think all music that's out there was made while the artists were tripping, but even though this was the 80s the Talking Heads weren't known for their drug addicton, they were known for being creative geniuses.

  • @lmfviolet78 Yeah, but the lyrics of the song describe an opiate trip (heroin or oxycodone will do it). You feel so bubbly that you start floating above the ground.

  • @nmatavka or some good ghanja or some hashish or (I luv the smell of ) opium

  • Comment removed

  • @ECGfuck You USED to use drugs??? Are you sure?

  • I think their work after Remain in Light was weak compared to their first four albums, but for MTV-friendly music, this is pretty good.

  • @aaronmackay95 And hipsters fucking hate you.

Kinda like an amazing coincidence, don't ya think ?

    (Laughing manically)

  • And she was.....waiting for her nail polish to dry

  • different variety of music let it come and go...@razzia89 why hate be glad alotta people make different music if we all like the same we be bored...just glad there are different music and people.

  • This is such a great song. So catchy, unique, pretty, and then at the end, it gets so rock n' roll, I just love the way the guitar comes in. An amazing ending.

  • need more cowbell!!!!

  • Such a fantastic band, though this song is def off course from them, it makes things interesting lol.

  • Perhaps my favorite of the band's. D.B is such a talented musician. Luved seeing the group in Portland, Maine back in the 80's.

  • Who the fuck disliked this video? I want names.

  • @FunnyCowboyDance All the people on JB videos saying "U JELOUS HATERZ"

  • And she was- a mutant. (my personal X-men soundtrack)

  • It looks as though they hired David Lynch to make their video!

  • not loud enough, turn them bitches up

  • Looks like 9 people never were

  • Not since this particular band's second album have more songs about houses, factories, windows, babies' pee-pee and kitchens sounded so good. — New Musical Express, 1985.
