@harrietcow actually he's playing just not hitting the kit or possibly not hitting the kit very hard probably due to live mikes on the set. I've been playing since 1972 and what he is playing is actually the correct drum pattern.

There's this british band from 1990 called Ride that took this guitar and rhythm riff for an excellent song "Seagull"... I love this Turtle song, I only wish it would never appear in such bad movies from mid-sixties, there are really cool songs where you cannot imagine...

Thanks my typo - the movie was in fact from 1966. Surprisingly Don is shown quite a bit in this clip. I spoke with Flo & Eddie over the summer and they did not recall doing this song in this film.

This clip is actually from early 1966. If it were from 1967, you'd see Johnny Barbatta on drums instead of Don Murray.
