  • Wish I could get the music without the voice tracks. It's still one of the most epic themes in video game history.

  • This is my all-time favourite cinematic.. PERIOD

  • wow is the secuele of star wars

  • wait on the cover they said there would be 8 levels but there are only 6

  • The dubbing blows compared to the Sega CD intro, especially that annoying "Emergency! Emergency!" female voice. Straight out of a badly dubbed anime.

  • Well, this one with the cute operator voice (voiced by Kazumi Fukagawa) IS the Japanese version (both versions are dubbed in English, by Japan), they redubbed it for the PlayStation2 version. I mean her intonation is more Japanese style cutesy Engrish than a natural dialect.

Japanese always tend to be character based, while North American tend to be cool atmosphere based. That's why moe characters tend to get mishaped when translated.

  • I dont know why but i sitll prefer the old mega-cd intro altough this one makes me feel happy to see a remake of it... but maybe in the old one where the voices or the overall camera angles.. it felt somewhat more impressive and i dont know why.

  • I still have the old sierra pc version

  • Hold on this is the oeiginal silpheed. I havethis game for PS2 and it is nothing like this. Plus capcom did not make this game.

  • the original one is not for ps2, is for SEGA CD, ages before psone

  • The actual Original was released for the PC-8801 in 1986.

  • There:

Project Sylpheed for Xbox 360 by Square Enix (2006), big budget version of a shooter in 3D space. Contained a lot of references of SF stuff, including a heavy dose of the one that inspired the originial one. Does this came with an 'Itano Circus' mode turned off option?

Play Station 2 (2000), a remade of the MEGA CD, used real-time 3D images.

    MEGA CD (1993), used pre-rendered 3D.

FM77AV (1988), a remade of the PC-8801. Used Cosmic Century.

    PC-8801mkIISR (1986), the originial version.

  • True: It´s not by Capcom, It´s by Treasure.

  • Basically, it's by Game Arts & Treasure, but the publisher of the game was Capcom (JP version) and defunct game company, Working Designs (US Version).

  • it is the same you mmust wait at the start screen for a few mintues then this part will show SILPHEED FOREVER!!!!! best PS2 game i had

  • Awesome! Glad they kept the fantastic intro music.

  • Is this the PAL version? My NTSC version has some lame backround story. I bought the game largely to see the updated intro, and now I feel gimped.

  • the ps2 version plays this movie if you let the start menu sit for a few mins after the opening movie

  • It's an amazing game. If only Capcom had published it here instead of Working Designs, it would have gotten the attention it deserved.

  • Mega CD version was hot, but Capcom sure does a sh*t job that makes games look cheap. They did it with Gundam. Never make Capcom do a remake of something else because they got not brains to do so.

  • Capcom didn't develop this game; they only published it. The almighty Treasure were actually the ones responsible for this unfortunately lackluster sequel (outsourced to them from Game Arts), while a different company handled the cinematics.

  • Wait, is this a remake of the Sega CD Silpheed? What system is this on?

  • Yes, this is a sequel of Silpheed of SegaCD that Game Arts produced.

The fan of Silpheed felt dissatisfied in this content though this was sold as software of PS2.

  • Hoshit! Whoohoo! Finally I find the intro CG movie to this awesome game, thanks a bunch for uploading it ^^/!
