  • I love these videos and I've been learning quite a lot from them. Is there any way to have the girls wearing sleeves because as it is she distracts people from the dance. Great job, Anthony and Julie!

  • Anthony, I appreciate how you teach slowly, step by step, and then count it and then show it flowing as the move should be. ADDICTED TO SALSA KICKS BUTT!

  • name of the song?

  • wow you guys should boost the sensuality a bit

  • Anthony and Julie, thanks for making these dance instructions so easy to learn. Keep producing them coz they are awesome and will always be my primary source of Salsa video instructions.

I noted that quite a number of your audience were asking about 4 and 8 counts. Am I correct that you could you use those counts for styling such as a toe point/tap? Could you produce a number of clips to highlight those counts?

  • @DaveandLissa - apersaud is sharing his knowledge for FREE. It's you choice to either take the positive or just site there and criticize the negatives.

@apersaud - Thank you so much for taking your time to teach these moves. I find them very very helpful.

  • Disaster ruining true salsa you got no flavor passion rhythm no story of heart seduction or life the things most important to any dance is what you give to it from your self not suck out of it to make easier

  • i am still confuce.... every step is 1,2,3 and 5,6,7.. where the hell 4 ????

  • Awesome moves I'm learning them all :) one by one.

Does anyone know the sound track? It sounds awesome!

  • have you ever seen titanic the movie

when they are on the front and shes holding her at the front of the ship

  • ADet ergf desrpa deruy gyh ... zortedaso

  • can u suggest some best latin songs pls...

  • this is cal tjader philly mambo

  • Thanks :)

  • hey anthony great job. i enjoy the vids very much. just a suggestion a little more light would help pic quality,

    thanx

  • I was confused too. I thought the woman was going to sink like the Titanic or something..haha. It's referring to the MUCH too influential film, when Leonardo Di Caprio stands at the bow of the ship and spreads his arms saying "I'm the King of the World!"

  • Do you remember the scene of Titanic were she says: "I am flying Jack"...? See the video again (0:20)

  • the position of the man (behind) and the lady (front) like in the movie with Leonardo and Kate... ;-)

  • Name of the song?

  • fuori tempo

  • the new york style step is breack on 2 not on 1...is very easy and bad

  • Does anyone know the name of the song he uses for this piece?

  • nemeczek93 I wondered what sort of person makes a comment lke this.

Do you not understand ? The Anthony Persaud videos are about learning to Salsa Dance in a social/club setting. It is not meant to be compared to the show dances that you have in your favourites.

    Persaud is a great teacher.

  • I like the guy and his instructions. I have watched some short videos from this guy and really feel attractive by his way. It seems to be easy to learn and practice. I've found some good instruction videos to follow but pity that I couldnt do without a partner, just came back to the dance lessons today in a dance sport class but seems doesnt effect cause the girls are too crowded there. How I can? I love dancing really.

  • whats the song you use in the background of your videos, its an excellent piece I'd love to practice with.

On your site you have a violin solo which is equally good, but its only 1:38, is there a longer version (or looped track) for either of these pieces? (or both)

  • I love your videos, so easy to follow!!

  • I wanted to thank you for the lessons. my wife and I practice on your videos all the time. I've always wanted to learn, being salsa is in my veins (San Sebastian, PR). and your instructions are great, keep it going. One question how different is LA salsa from PR or New York salsa?

  • The major difference is the NY style breaks on2 (2nd & 6th beat) a style made famous by Eddie Torres. all the technique and patterns are the same. The difference is where in the measure of the music you decide to break forward and back which make learning on2 a little more challenging if you are used to dancing on1.

  • you forgot 4

  • The 4 and 8 counts are not mentioned since they do not have steps associated with them in salsa dancing.

  • It was a joke. I sorta knew that. I liked the video though.

  • Thank you very much for uploading this ^^

it was really interesting watching it

just the beginning of the clip irritated me a bit, cause I learned

salsa a bit differently... I learned to step on 1 not on 2 (when he says in the end that he steps on two, I understood ^^)

    I learned to count "1...2...3...break..."

but I guess every dance school got it's differences :S

  • Yes. In the introduction we dance on2 (breaking on 2). Dancing on1 is acceptable, the only difference is the numbers - the move should remain the same. On1 and On2 are just two different styles in timing of salsa.

  • thanks :)

it just irritated me in the beginning, when you were dancing to that song (I just assume it's you) I thought at the beginning, if you didn't have rhythm, or if the song would have been added lateron to the video...

I never heard or saw, that salsa could be danced on 2 xD

that I only knew from mambo ;)

but I guess, every day you learn something new ;)

  • I wanna lern that and show to my friends here in Brazil!

    They said I can't dance!

  • show them !! ill do the same thing xD

  • Great video! But, I'm confused. In the beginning of the video, he says option #1 is the BUTTERFLY, and option #2 is the TITANIC. But they look the exact same to me. Am I missing something here?

  • the butterfly includes a body roll whereas the titanic does not it is only a settled step.

  • nice moves!!!!

    muito bem!!!! xD

  • i´d love to dance with him! ;D I learned this yesterday but there´s no man able to dance it with me :(

  • she is just great! I would love to dance with her.

  • Great video! Helps me get into new moves! One advice could be to just say a few words on the signal you give to the girl when doing the turns. Would add the perfect touch! :-) thanks!

  • nice lesson! I like giving options to my students also...

I see that your dancing style has improved a lot since the earlier videos from 2006. I guess that's what's practicing On2 does to On1 dancers. :-)

  • i love this move!! i can watch over and over! looks so nice. anthony ur fricken awesome!

  • if he kept quiet more would you think it was good teaching idiot!

  • simply great!

  • El nombre de la canción, por favor, Anthony.

  • These vidoes are awesome. I never thought I would be able to learn something by watching vidoes. I was wrong , I have learned all these moves :) Can you please post few more vidoes?

  • You can always turn the volume down. :-)

  • They are dancing On1 in the beginning.

  • No, we are dancing On2 in the intro.

  • your break always lands 1 beat in front of the tumbao slap, that's On1 to me - sound may be out of sync? That's not to say that I don't like your instructional, I think it's a great lesson.

  • The tumbao (conga slap) happens on the 2 and 6 side of the beat, not the 1.

  • i love this move. it's so hot! i am going to ask my salsa teacher to teach me!

  • Loving your video's, took my 1st lesson last week, can't wait to get back to Club Havana in St albans!! I read somewhere that trainers were a no no in Salsa, I think i may find them more comfortable than my shoes, but do you think as a beginner i will be able to make the turns?

  • consult your doctor and priest

hair cut fund all your comments crack me up

the best is the dont try these moves warning

love all your work, thank you

  • Why did you change the title of this video from Titantic to the Lead Back move? I thought the titantic description was very descriptive and appropriate. Anyway I love this move and have incorporated it into my repertoire of salsa moves. Thanks.

  • Your turn patterns are simple with strong fundamentals. Keep up the good work Anthony

  • ME GUSTA GRACIAS

  • I love all your videos. I like how you break it down so it's easy to understand. Thank you.

    Manny

  • she is hot.

  • this is just great, thank you very much!

  • Anthony, thanks for all the vids, I've been viewing them for a while now here in Papua New Guinea! A bunch of friends get together quite regularly to go over some of the simpler moves, but I noticed that your shoes have gone from 'work boots' to some kinda cool looking sneakers. What do you reccomend for comfortable guy's shoes?

  • Damn! Anthony has all the fine ladies for his videos! Diablo!!!! El Mostro!

  • Really impressed. Let us know if you come to UK - I'd travel a long way for one of your classes though perhaps not across the pond! Can you compile your lessons on a DVD for sale

  • Yes, it is! I love it :-)

  • dude, this Web site rocks!! A+++++

  • Thanks loads for the lesson! Helped me big time! (I always messed up the titanic when trying the butterfly :-( )

    Greetings from the Netherlands

  • Good work. Thanks for making Salsa moves accessible. U have fans and audience in India, let me tell u that!

  • woo Hooo.. I love this channel.. 5 stars and subscribed.... keep em coming..

  • long time no see! welcome back! you're getting better... videos have a more professional look, and they are the best I've seen on the net

  • "Professional Looking Videos". Thanks.

    Made on a Mac. :-)

  • ya man.. your old stuff was great, but this is off the chain. The walk back is awesome, it went over really well.

Can't wait for more! Ciao from Toronto.

  • What happened with the other chic???

  • She stayed in Iowa, while I moved to San Diego, CA.

  • Why do you dance on 2? That's Mambo, not salsa!

  • Because some people dance On 2. What..On 1 dancers are special or something? On 2 dancers can't benefit from this?

  • Before, we used to only show the move On1. But we'd like to help as many people as possible and therefore we will explain the move on1 and do additional counts On2. It is the same steps, just different counts and rhythm.

  • Don't leave again dude. My salsa is dependent on your instruction.

  • Well come back. Thanks a lot for your support in my learning salsa.. your teaching ability is amazing.. But I miss (prefer) other partner (melani ?) :) It is a joke actually.. Thank for everything...

  • thanks a lot :-P

    -Julie

  • I am so sorry. I hope that I dont really break your heart. you are great too.. your style is elegant...

  • Thanks for adding more variants to the titanic pattern. Very well explained!!

  • great

  • Great to have you back!!!. I followed your podcasts at addicted, but I was waiting for so long to see again a videocast.

I hope to see more and more new combos.

  • Good, I like it. You would by chance have anything more advanced would you? You cover the basics a lot, which is GOOD, but what about more combos? This next question is for anyone out there. How do I up load videos so that I can reply? Who knows, Maybe I'll even give lessons.

  • He's BACK! Anthony you were a major influence in my early months of Salsa. Now you can be a major influence in my 2nd year too! Welcome back sir. :))

  • Wellcome back to the best teacher i found in the web. Thank you very much. Pity you are so far from Italy.

  • Great job! Thank you so much, I love your addicted2salsa episodes! Welcome back!
