SuperJalen2009, as you can see, a lot of people do not have the knowledge you have. Explaining here won't cost too much bandwidth and storage. Also, I believe that it is much more productive and friendlier to share information rather than to criticize others. We need to think in a higher level and other than ourselves. What do you think?
stupid miao/hmong people, whats so special about them. they dont even have a country and take up space. there just low asians and dont even campare with chinese koreans japanese and maybe that of south east other asians. low dogs
The Mong/Hmong in China is also divided into many types of Mong/Hmong such as Hmong Dawb, Mong Dlub, Mong Ntsuab, Mong Leeg, Mong Sib, Mong Xauv, Mong Pua, Mong Peg, Mong Ntsaug (Flower), and others that I don't remember. I also was told that there is another group of people that speak a dialect similar to Mong/Hmong but they are not Mong/Hmong or Miao.
BlackHmong85, Chinese never call Miao people as Hmong. Miao represents many ethnic groups. One of these ethnic group happens to be Hmong/Mong. The Miao people who verbally refer themselves as Hmong/Mong are those Miao people who live in South and South-West China. These people speak dialects similar to the Hmong/Mong people in Laos, Thailand, and US. Officially, they consider themselves as Miao Zu (苗 族).
@NplaamSab i wud love it if u tell this messege to niamtxiv a miao person he/she is saying that hmong people are miao people and he is yapping on about his crap i need u to shut him up plz go to Kheev Lam Koj Yog Ib Rev Paj (Yi Duo Hua) - Mim Haam on youtube and search it and find his comments he and his crap about hmong people being miao is discusting me
hey list hmong folks, if Miao does not automatically mean Hmong, than why chinese call the yao people yao, the dong people dong, the yi people yi, and the hmong people miao. because miao mean hmong.
hey listen Hmong folks, Miao does not automatically mean Hmong. there are other ethnicities with different cultures that are considered Miao. the Hmong are just part of it.
this isnt a dance! its actually the "new year" blessing.. at the end of every year (here in the us its in nov) we walk around these two pole and walk over a string (i think) and a elder would stand next to one end of the pole holding a ckn.. its a walk to bring in the new year and to keep all the good things and leave the bad things behind.
this is a celebration to gather their ancestor and everyone together.. kind of like HU PLIG... i got a video on this... this festival is only held once every 7 or 8 year...LOVELY..
This festival is not the same as the one in the U.S. The festival is about when the Hmong were force migrate to the south. Having to leave their homeland in the north when they were defeated in "The Battle Of Zhoulu."
This isn't dancing. You walk around this pole to bring in a blessful new year for you and your family. Hmong people still do that to this day in the US @ new years events. But it's very interesting to see that other hmong tribes still practice that, especially in China.

So this is the original Festivus!
Is it preceded by "airing of grievance" and followed by "pinning down" the head of family? :D
