  • 25 thumbs up and i will do a lyrical dance to this song in my recital

  • DAMN shame that he dies smh

  • I've never thought Lady Margaret had to be a prostitute - not that I'm judging that - but why "Lady" Magaret? in that case -maybe a widow or a misguided young woman who would otherwise have made a "respectable" marriage- always got the sense that she could have done"better" for herself but got somehow caught up with him... at any rate whatever she was the line about "cold corpsy lips" gives me goose bumps everytime!

  • A lovely stark performance of this great ballad

  • Yeah, Cassie is awesome...havent seen her in years.

  • I met Cassie Franklin a few years ago in Mountain View Arkansas at the Ozark Folk Center, Where she was conducting a Shape Note singing school. She was a super nice person with a lovely voice.

    Very talented.

  • too bad i couldnt make it to help film this got the invite tho...!

  • My thoughts of what the song means: Lady Margret was a prostitute she was in love with William and he loved her but for reputation sake he married a respectiable lady. Margret in her greif kills herself and comes to him in ghost form where he admits hes in love with her, he falls into her arms in dream sleep, he wakes thinking it a dream, finds out she is dead, he begs her back from the dead realising he made a mistake, I think he kills himself, and falls into her arms in eternal sleep.

  • so bittersweet... :)

  • I love this song <3

  • When in the movie is this song?

  • its actually not. it was in a deleted scene with inman and sarah, the natalie portman character.

  • That explains it :) I've seen the movie many times and I listen to the music on youtube all the time, and I've always wondered why I didn't recognise this

  • I have been looking for this song for a while, my brother had this song on a cassette a few years back and I never knew who it was until now.She has a beautiful voice.

  • its like this song speaks to me... I can imagine everything that is going on. Beautiful

  • check out "matty groves" by fairport convention & "Lord Musgrave" by Christy moore/planxty...all the same song with minor variations

  • Reminds me of the traditional Irish song 'she moved through the fair'. Similar themes and that. Both equally beautiful.

  • This song is so beautiful <3

I love the soundtrack for this movie!

  • excellent song

  • love this song. it's amazing!
