is this a cover/ where/ why / when did they do this song?

    please?

  • @tmtulmm

this song is orinally from the Honeycombs. (1964)

  • @larathelizard they did this march 2010 (march 4th i think)

  • @larathelizard Ya Honeycombs... this is a better cover and the other people have this chipmunk voice. they should write more slow quiet songs like this... not that i dislike there other songs. and from a different video i saw they were at a small little room and a ton of people were surrounding them

  • @tmtulmm And it appears on their new EP. Which in its entirety is on my channel :)

  • @tmtulmm Yes as larathelizard says it was the Honeycombs only UK number 1 single released in July 1964 and was #1 for three weeks on the Melody Maker chart.

This is a pretty cool cover though, not as punchy as the original, but it really sounds like they had fun making it. Joe Meek produced the original. He made them play it slow, then he sped it up changing the pitch by a tone or two. He made the whole band stamp on the staircase and used mics clipped onto the banisters to capture the effect.
