Sweet playing, I had a Line 6 Spider 75 watt transistor amp, great for recording but lame for live work!!! Does anyone know if this amp keeps the sound tight at gig volumes with it being valve rather than transistor?
That sounds really amazing, I have a dilemma on the mk1 or mk2 other than the effects are they essentially the same amp or is there a difference in build or and tweaks in the mk2?
@EvanN108 they are essentially the same however, the MkII can be updated via an FBV MkII pedal and we took out a lot of artist, song, style presets in the MkII and offered more user banks for customizing your tones.
@jpirata13 The 212 has 2 speakers so even though it’s the same wattage it pushes a bit more air and can be perceived to be a bit louder. Despite that, the 112 and 212 are the same.
@Marshall2603 The reason for the two mics was just to blend the different responses of the mics themselves. You're right, there's no difference in the output from either side. There was only a difference in mic choice.
@RWC5150 ooooooh yeah, lmao Line6 amplifiers are all good for that, they have a tendancy to be really loud when your master volume is set to 2, you really have to play with the settings, i have the HD100MK2 head and cab, and seriously, i don't see a reason to really push the amp past 4, if you dial the master and channel volumes right you can get the full effect of the tubes without having to crank it .
@pridefighter93 The SV MkII is not equipped with the same amount of presets as the Spider IV. If you visit our line6 site and go to support, search for "Spider Valve Mk II Presets, Specs, and FAQ" to get more information.
i was gonna go with a vox tone lab processor and run it through a B52 at100, because of the versatility + tube tone, but instead im getting this. its even better than the first spider valve.
Great Amp, even better guitar player. Richards playing should sell the heck out of these amps. After watching this video you have witnessed a master at his craft. Richard hope to see you soon.
@59LPTV Yeah, he really shows the potential these amps have. Fantastic player with a lot of musicality and soul (although he's just having a wank here). Plus he looks like two of my favorites, Steve Stevens and Jeff Beck!
dude hybrid picking for days love it

Can you get distortion only from the digital models or can you also get the tube preamp to distort?
pentagonoenllamas 1 year ago
@pentagonoenllamas The preamp section of the Spider Valve helps boost your input signal but will not distort.

I have a question.....why are there two Mics???
The Spider Valve MkI aswell as the MkII have MONO Poweramps.
So why is it miked Stereo???

If you watch the StarLicks series from the 80s you realize that everything these modern day hacks are doing has already been done before.

does the tone of the amps improve the louder you have them (like a marshall valve)?

Oh man. I have seen him live twice, definitely one of the most interesting guitar players on the scene right now.

Try Mads Eriksen. He has a better technique than malmsteen, but less famous due to playing very weird songs.

They are pretty close. He only changed the EQ slightly but this is a different amp model. So the tone is a lot different.
